Good for a short trip. There are some art installations outside the house and a few indoors as well. The bedroom has interesting information about the family of Alexander Black, and overall Im glad I stopped in.As of late 2017, the Alexander Black House/Museum is still raising funds to restore the upstairs and downstairs of the home. If youre familiar with the way Monticello is set up and expecting something similar, theres unfortunately only one room restored to that level of detail.

Small museum with a big heart. Featuring rotating cultural displays and art exhibits featuring local artists. The wrap around porch is the best room in the house.

I love taking townies or out of town guests here to learn a little bit more about the historyof Blacksburg and surrounding areas. Sometimes the host tells us a little then lets us walk around but the guy that greeted us explained so much about the history of the area and even brought a bunch of maps out for us to see, I learned a lot!

Rather interesting, however, it is definitely a quick attraction, not something to occupy ones attention for hours.
