Riverfront Park is a nice respite from stress. It connects to Norms Island so one can stroll in the woods and the river is there for avid fisherman and adventurous dogs. All in all a great place. Mosquitoes and too much goose poop is a downside.

This had a great view and lots of picnic tables along the lake. It was also very busy so quite the popular spot, locally. My problem was that it smelled like beer just about everywhere we walked and one Of the bathrooms had feces EVERYWHERE.*Sorry no pics of the lake.

Very well taken care of park. The restrooms are always clean and even smell fresh. The grass is even nice enough to go barefoot where the ducks dont hang out. The bushes and trees seem to be very well maintained as well. Thank you for keeping up with all the trash people visiting throw all over the place. Its quiet and clean and plenty of shade.

Nice place to come feed the geese and ducks. Lots of walking trails and ponds. Right next to the river also. Fishing is allowed and there are bathrooms and picnic tables. Lots of baby geese right now. If you have kids they will have a lot of fun just running around. No swimming in the ponds but the river is a great spot when the water slows down and gets lower.

This place was covered in trash, people everywhere. No one has fallowed the CDC requirements here at all. U can drive passed this place daily and see people. Let alone homeless clothes shoes ext spread out throughout the trails and forests. Its a shame..other than that its a gorgeous place to take a stroll.

Went July 3, 2020. (Caveat: Our terrible experience may have been mostly due to the season.) Thousands of mosquitoes which literally no amount of bug spray can save you from (we nearly used a whole bottle) and the grass is almost a literal carpet of goose feces. Stay way from this disaster if you love yourself/your family.

The name Riverfront may confuse you a bit. The large share of the Park fronts to Josephine Lake, not the Yellowstone.A strip of Riverfront does have access to the river. This is a nice park regardless. Ducks, geese, grass, lake, tables.

As you can see I love to come here. Great for dogs, mini hikes, treasure hunts, pics, not shown (fishing, swimming, bug swatting, etc) but.... The river has taken a bunch of the trail system (I know, not a lot to do about that, that isn’t expensive) but the trails that do remain are not maintained at all. Other than the two gravel loops that can be highly trafficked by man, beast and machine. The ‘off the beaten’ paths have nothing but dead fall, or soon to be, which is something of a hazard and a considerable liability to the city of Billings. They closed one access, there are a few, because stolen cars were being stashed/found in the parking lot. This seems like an easy fix Billings.

We like going to this park and take the puppies along. There are so many trails full of trees, bushes, flowers and wild life. Even though at times there maybe a good amount of people here it is easy to find a great trail and not see anyone else.

Love coming to this park and watching the wild animals. The only thing I hate about it, is the fact that other people bring their pets to harass these these beautiful creatures. I have already seen a dog with a gosling in it mouth and the owners were happy about it.

I love being able to walk out on the sandbar on the Yellowstone River. The park that sits off the river is nice as well. There are MULTIPLE trails that tail off the main trail that follows the Yellowstone River. This park is a great park for being within Billings City Limits.

I am a local photographer and love the beautiful scenery here at Riverfront Park! When the river is low, the river rock provides a beautiful location for photos, and whether the river is high or not, the trails and the lake provide a variety of great locations for photos. The park is kept clean, and is a beautiful, safe location for families whether they are getting photographer or not!

Review №49

A great place to go for a walk with your dogs. Just please, and I cant stress this enough, PLEASE keep your dogs on leashes!! My dogs are a little aggressive. Granted they are part Chihuahua and Dachshund but they can get snappy, so if your big floppy friendly dog comes running up to mine, chances are its not going to go very well! I also have a large malamute akita mix who will jump in if he sees his brothers getting attacked. In summary , the scenery is beautiful and the paths are fun, as long as everyone is courteous and respectful. Sometimes it can be crowded and those types of people will be hanging out. Most of the time its pretty positive though. Also be careful when straying off the main paths. The tall grass can be full of ticks. 4 years ago one of my little ones ended up with 12 ticks on her after a walk through one of the dirt paths. Also please dont feed the ducks and geese bread! Look up online for a list of safe things for wild ducks and geese to eat instead!
