Always interesting and well-researched exhibits. Historic building was citys first library. Participates in ArtWalk Downtown Billings in even-numbered months.
Very informative and quite good for a smaller museum. Our guide was quite pleasant to talk to as well.
Gorgeous building and very well informed guides at the entry. Small museum inside and can be done in one hour. Check out the art displays as they are impactful. Take photos outside as the building itself is lovely and easy to walk to downtown.
Always learn something fun!
Heather and Kevin were just awesome when I stopped by.
A nice little museum with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I really loved the Ben Steele exhibit as well as the Vietnam exhibit.
A great venue. Good exhibits. Terrific programs.
A nice little museum. Pretty small and very low key, but some very interesting displays. Located in the old public library, a very cool building. Potential to be fabulous, but probably a pretty slim budget, reflected in the quality of the exhibits. Great selection of Montana lore & literature books in the gift shop!
Small, beautiful western paintings, forgot artist, short history of Billings, Battan death March paintings, pretty graphic, and a temporary Vietnam exhibit
Small place. Nice people. They had some new cell crow nation art. The heritage museum is actually in the old library building
Great!! Loved it. Good front desk lady who was very informative.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
A great center to go to among other amazing historical locations in Billings. Fun fact is that the Heffner Stone Quarry, which once was located where the college is now on 27th Street, was the place that provided the sand stone for that building. All of the sandstone came from the foot of the Rims. The sandstone of the Heffner Stone Quarry was certified to last 100 years. Another fun fact is that Heffner Steps located just to the right of 27th Street was created by that company.
Lol... History at its finest.
The Ledger art is fantastic. Thanks to MSU Billings for safe guarding this treasure!
Love love love this museum the whole family has a blast when we visit
Friendly staff in a nice building with an interesting history.
Nice place and very knowledgeable
It smells musty but it is an old building. I wish they had a little more stuff but it was still worth the visit and affodable
Had a great time with my son and his scout troop pack 81
Wonderful exhibition of classic Western artifacts open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday closed on Sunday and Monday across the street from Western pawn broker and also the Far West Gallery is situated on historic Montana Avenue in downtown Billings theres a statue of the founder of the city in the courtyard with some classic architecture -- highly recommended
Museums are becoming a thing of the past. Go see this one.
Would love to have learned about the Center but instead was followed around the entire building and talked to by the 1 staff person present. She was more about taking to fill the silence then letting you just read and learn for yourself. Very unimpressive.
Mostly a collection of a local art professors work.
Very intresting, worth the stop
Great local history.
Its historical and informational
A great visit! great value! loved the Kulr 8 & South Billings displays!
Fantastic stop for both travelers and locals. Something for all ages. Truely a local gem
My family learned so much. We love so this place so much.
Fun flavors from the old Wild West! History helps to get a perspective on how we got where we are, choices we now have, and who we can be, while we are getting, wherever there turns out to be, or not.
My family and I had a wonderful time! Staff friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Wonderful place 2 visit.
Brought in friends from Australia and was HIGHLY disappointed it use to have alot of Native American as well as the Heritage of people around Billings now it has barely any displays and alot of pictures of farmers and Beet Farming not much history in what we paid for .... Highly Disappointed... not worth the $25 we paid at this point I would not recommend this museum go to the Museum at the Airport much more to see
Great place for children to learn hands on. Love the old building.
Excellent historical reseach facility. Great displays. Rumors of turret haunted.
