Nice walk along the ocean was little Knicks and crannies to walk to the ocean. Beautiful views. Saw deer close up. Not much parking.

This is a fantastic place to go, especially if you are looking for an easy walk with a fantastic view. There is only street parking, be mindful of the signage as I hear they will ticket if you are parked in a no parking zone. I will post pictures of what it looks like from the road and of the sign as its not the easiest find if you dont know what you are looking for. From the Maine Audubon website:Parking is very limited at the end of Lester B. Orcutt Blvd. along the shoulder with room for about 6 cars. The entrance is marked on the left as you face the water. There is a short right of way trail between and around private residences which takes you to the main sanctuary trail.Super picnic spot! Leave your dog at home for this one as no dogs are allowed.Super easy walk, even for young children or if you use a cane to assist with walking. Very short trail until you get to a more open area for sitting.COVID-19 concerns - the first few minutes of the walk is VERY narrow at only 2 or 3 feet wide. Bring a mask in the event you come across someone coming the opposite way as you.

I love this piece of land! It is perfect for a short outing. Its a wonderful place to bring kiddos or the elderly as its not steep. But I recommend a good tick check afterwards because of the high grass. There are also lots of rare birds living in the area.

Great place. Not much to do other then look at the landscapes which is the only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5. Not much parking too. Otherwise awesome little gem!

This place was easy to find with only a small gate at the entrance and parking was along one side of the street. The trail started out with a canopy of vegetation and well marked. The point had amazing views of the lighthouse and bay. We watched lobstermen and sailboats for a while. The trail got smaller and less marked until we were lost in the brush and woods....moral of the story, turn around and exit the trail the same way you entered.

A must see if youre in the area. Its the quintessential Maine view. Parking is scarce and on the road where you pick up the path. From there its a short walk beside a golf course that opens to a meadow lining the ocean. Theres a lighthpuse to view, Rocky beach to walk, and crashing waves to see. Beautiful.

This is a cute place and a very quick walk from the trail head. You do have to walk a bit through a planty part but the path is pretty well defined. The lighthouse is not on this actual section, but on the island next to it; however you can see it nicely on a clear day.

Great birding opportunities, and amazing array of geological formations worth checking out (granite intrusions, basalt dikes, and metamorphic rocks with massive quartz veins). The tide pooling is also fun.

Ia
Review №37

A mostly level out-and-back trail allows access to spectacular views of the ocean, the Wood Island lighthouse, and other local features. Rock beaches provide opportunities to explore tidepools and study some novel geological formations. Birding is exciting year-round with spring and fall migrants, and great seawatching for alcids and sea-ducks in the winter. Please be mindful to not go off the trail. No pets allowed. Parking is limited and usually full by midday in the summer.

It is very beautiful here very nice and beautiful views of the ocean. And there are 2 light houses one at the point and the older looking one just a little ways up the Saco River. Plus there are harbor seals and lots of different bird species here. The first part of the trail is woodsy and a little muddy but the rest of the trail is very beautiful and open. Some of the shore is a rocky cliff. Plus there are lots of tide pools also.

A small but delightful nature sanctuary in Biddeford Pool on the coast of Maine. There is limited roadside parking, with an entrance to the sanctuary on Fourth Street. A short trail leads through a tangle of where passerines are often seen. You can follow a boardwalk through the brush to the beach where ocean ducks, Cormorants, and loons can be seen, as well as shorebirds on the beach in season. Recently a rare Hooded Warbler was found here.

I have been a couple times lately--there is plenty of street side parking, but it fills up quickly, as it is a very popular spot. It is a nature spot, so there are no facilities at all or even anywhere particularly close, so use the bathroom somewhere else first! You will want to spend lots of time here watching the wildlife, and taking in the beautiful seaside views. You can see the Wood Island Lighthouse very clearly from here, as well as several offshore rocks with lots of crashing waves and quintessential Maine vistas. Wildlife I saw here: Common Eiders (so, so many), Guillemots, Long-Tailed Ducks, Seagulls, Crows, Hermit Thrush, Cardinal, Eastern Towhee, and a few I couldnt identify. Dont forget your binoculars! The only reason this isnt five stars is because of the lack of facilities and not a ton of parking.
