Its a really nice place to hang a little bit and feel connected with the nature. It is not a real hike, is just for relaxing and walking. It is open now but... The restroom are still closed and there is no place to throw the trash, thats the only inconvenient

One of the best hikes in the city if you are visiting SF and want to see Golden Gate, Sutro Baths, China Beach. Outstanding views of the coastline and easy path.

A little gem in the middle of the urban Los Angeles. The canyon has ample of shades and parking is free. Trails and directions are not well marked though.

Nice quiet hiking area. Lots of scenery to see. You could probably take some really nice photos using the scenery as a background. This is a easy to medium hiking area so I think most people can follow these trails with little effort. Franklin Canyon is off of Coldwater Canyon which can be filled with lots of traffic.

I went twice. The second time was much better!! I took a bunch of photos, the weather was nice, and somehow I feel like the lake was much cleaner than the 1st visit. Really glad I found good trail to just hike for 30-40 minutes and relax by the lake

An ideal place to relax, for those who want to relax from the bustle of the city, and just spend time with family and friends. Not ordinary beauty of nature, clean air. I recommend everyone to spend on more outdoor recreation, especially in such amazing places of our region.

Beautiful hiking trails. With the recent rains, it was incredibly green! The bathroom was ok in cleanliness, was surprised to find a regular toilet and sink in a hiking area, but suppose those are amenities required by the wealthy....

Beautiful place! It was nice to go out and get a breather and take a small hike! Although I do wish there were more signs on not feeding and touching the wildlife. I know people feed wildlife out of a charitable behavior, but most the snacks they feed wildlife is very harmful. Not to mention a witnessed a group purposefully terrorize some ducks...again Beautiful and calming area, just wish people who visited didnt use wildlife as their source of entertainment.

Very very nice place to go walking or hiking. It is extremely peaceful and clean. Very romantic. It does get a little scary at dark. It actually closes when if gets dark. Had a good time with my wife and son. There are a lot of people and dogs walking around. A lot of photo pictures opportunities. There are a lot of cars coming through.

Who knew this existed aside from the locals? A gorgeous natural wilderness in the middle of the city. Come for the trails and beauty, and keep your eyes peeled for OWLS!!! Also, if you are there during the weekdays, dont expect to leave until after rush hour, people from the LA side like to use it as a shortcut to Mulholland and The Valley. It can take an hour to go the less than a mile from the parking lot to the exit. How this is a short cut is beyond me.

Franklin canyon is nothing spectacular but its a spectacular fact that theres a glimpse of an oasis smackdown in the center of the LA metro area. Not really meant to be access by cars although you can this is a neat walk just south of Mulholland drive or you can accept it from The city via bicycle for reward of a little butalic respite among the mansions.
