This is one of the jewels of Berkeley. There are all kinds of fun classes for both kids and adults at the recreation center. There is a park for little kids and the most fun is the creek. Kids can have hours of fun time in the creek. We love coming here.

Expansive redwood groves, full baseball diamond & outfield, plenty of outdoor grills with picnic benches for any BBQ, basketball courts (with tennis courts adjacent to the Berkeley Rose Garden across the street or through the underground tunnel), cement slide through a lush oak grove forest, several creek crossings and playgrounds for all ages make Live Oak Park among to greatest hidden gems of the East Bay Municipal Park District.

Lovely park lots of shade on a hot day. Lovely Creek gently gurgling and happy birds and children for a sound track.

Great park with nice tennis courts that have lights for the evening and a water fountain nearby. There are also some barbecue spots available.

Nice play areas, one large and one small, large grassy area and indoor bathrooms. Drawbacks: limited street parking and few benches or places to sit.
