Great park for kids of all ages. The slide is a must but dont underestimate the curve...first time down use your feet to slow down a little so you dont tip over and skin yourself on the concrete (including you, adults -- ask me how I know).

We came here before for the playground; the tot area is decent with a structure, a couple swings, and a sand box. The big kid area looks fun especially the big concrete slide. We also came here for a forest experience program with our 1.5 year old, and spent a couple hours in the woods behind the playground. This part of the park is way bigger than I thought and its really nice to be able to enjoy the secluded forest just 10 mins from the cities. Our kid had fun wondering around looking at everything and enjoyed playing in creek water. Definitely recommend!

This park is amazing! there is a bunch of paths you can explore, the rose garden is right next to it. If you want to play on the play structure you can. There is even a concrete slide which you can ride down. Next to it is a baseball field which can be used for a bunch of different activities. Its also great for birthday parties or other gatherings because they have barbecues as well as tables.

Great park in the East Bay and worth the climb up the hill. If it is too packed, the Rose Garden is a nice option across the street. Very dog friendly and lots of area to move in so you can find your own little piece to enjoy yourself. Multiple playgrounds for the kids and multiple pinic areas. Packed on weekends. Great cement slide that usually has corrugated for you to use.

Loved this place! Small but felt large, with lots of tucked away wooded nooks and crannies for kids to explore. But the main event is the old school concrete slide! Wish parks still made them like this - fast and exciting while completely safe for young kids and adults alike. My 4 and 2 year old loved it (2 year old slid with Dad) and must have rode it 20 times. Climbing those stairs is a good way to exhaust overly energetic kids

This is a really great Park. An exciting feature is a cement slide where more mature children use cardboard to slide down even faster its a really interesting very unique. Whats so cool about this park is that its surrounded by Nature and a really cool Creek—With loads of barbeque set ups and picnic tables. There are two main play structures one for younger children and one for older children. Plus there are ball courts nearby which appeals to older kids and adults alike. There is a bathroom, but its not very clean.

We came up here to see the Rose Garden which is on the other side of the street and found this park by accident. We didnt have the time to walk around much, but did see the playground, plenty of picnic areas and several walking trails. Very pretty park and we will likely come back. It is a fairly short walk from the UC Berkeley campus, straight up Euclid. You may want to take Uber (for example) to get to the park and then walk down. Very pretty views of the Bay over by the Rose Garden and as you walk down the street.

I have been sliding down the concrete slide for over 50 years. Its just dangerous enough to be enormous fun, and its a miracle that it hasnt been sued out of existence. There are nice little hikes up the hill, and you can use it as a base to take hikes up Tamalpais path, throughout the North Berkeley hills. There is an outside basketball court, a toddler area, and a couple of swings. You can walk through a tunnel underneath Euclid to get Rose Garden, with its fabulous views.

I grew up in Berkeley and remember Codornices as both the best and scariest park in the whole world. That concrete slide that we actually used to sit on waxed paper to slide down so that we could go faster was so scary! Someone was always getting hurt or tearing their clothes, so, of course, I had to take my 6 year old when we visited Berkeley at the end of 2016. He had a blast - he was terrified to go by himself at first and then couldnt get enough of it and wants to go back with waxed paper!

For any long time Berkeley resident this is probably where you came as a kid and where you probably come now with your kids. Multiple slides including a long concrete one, stream, swing and play fields, all you need. Parking can be a little tricky but you can usually find something within a couple of blocks.

This place is just cool (somewhat literally, there is a good mix of sunny and shady). The cement slide is fast, faster if you sit on a piece of cardboard that you find laying around on the ground. Swings for big kids that get you pretty high, fenced in sandy area with a slide and baby swings and a little structure to sit inside of. Then there are the rose gardens, which smell delicious even in their decline. This part is not super stroller friendly. There are hiking paths (if you walk beyond the cement slide), which are stroller friendly to a point, and then become more dirt paths and difficult. Finally, there is the fun tunnel connecting the rose gardens and the other part. Street parking is for 2 hours, free. There are bathrooms but they lock them in the late afternoon.

Who doesnt have fond memories of going down the stone slide here on a piece of worn-down cardboard, constantly in fear of skinning your butt? Or exploring the trails in the hills of this deceptively large park and coming out in a completely different place than you expected to?The bathrooms are disgusting, though. Never use them.
