Had a great time paddle boarding on the river and it was such a beautiful way to see the city! The entire paddle was pretty short and you could easily do the whole thing in under 2 hours. The rocky river bank, high above the water was beautiful to see and Im glad people are exercising and getting out during all this craziness.

Took the family to enjoy the river on a warm day. Rented a couple of kayaks (from Tumalo Creek Kayak and Paddle Board Rentals) that we used to paddle up and down the river and even to just relax and float down the river. Not too many people in the river so there was a lot of room to paddle and float and take our time. My kids definitely enjoyed it

This is where you PUT IN to float/paddle the river thru bend. LOTS of free parking. I would HIGHLY recommend bringing your own tube (hit Big 5 or Fred Meyer in town) because the 1) with covid the rental shop is down and 2) when it is open the wait is crazy. From a Logistics Standpoint - there is a shuttle back from DRAKE PARK but it is problematic from a wait standpoint - do the 2-car shuffle and save a lot of hassle - note, there is not a ton of easy parking near Drake Park - it also isnt a bad bike ride or walk! Enjoy your float!

If you want to float down the river with your friends, walk the river trail with your furry companion, or even do yoga on the grass this is a great place to start.

Fun place to put in on a very gentle float to Drake Park. You can paddle board or float on any inflatable device. They rent tubes and you can buy a ticket for the shuttle back from Drake Park. The rental company also has a very powerful electric pump to fill your own floatable if you don’t want to rent. The water is cold but refreshing. There is a man made rapid downstream at McKay Park and it is really safe and fun. It is a 1.4 mile easy walk back from Drake to Riverbend and probably is as quick as taking the shuttle on a busy day.

Start your summer lazy river tube here. There are shuttles that will take you back-and-forth for a small fee between the two city parks. The current isn’t that strong and you gently glide down river for about an hour to two. See the downtown via river.

The BPRD gave themselves a HUGE park on the river to place their administrative HQ where they should probably put some type of extravagant garden to match the decadent budget given to them by taxpayers. They should name this horticultural landmark “Vince’s Dream” since they owe Mr. Guinna for every park, job, and dollar that they have. Hey Don!!! Don Horton? Can you call the master gardeners and make my fantastic idea a reality? There is no botanical landmark and right next to the BPRD administration building on Columbia Street would be a fantastic location for locals and visitors alike!!! I know you could maintenance a beautiful flower garden with scores of volunteers that would love to help(like me)! C’mon!!! Please!!!!???

Have been coming to this park for a long time and have always loved it! Friends and I can set up a volleyball net and hang around or take a walk, and overall is just a nice place to spend time next to the river. However, everyone in Bend knows about it and it seems like it is busy with people everywhere on any given semi-nice day in Bend. But it is always clean and people occupying it are almost always nice Bend folk.

A great way to access the river trail, see birds and the mighty Deschutes river, the literal life blood for Bend and Central Oregon. Go up river to the footbridge for more trail experience vs down by the restrooms where you can swim and use.picnic tables. Enjoy a nice loop trail. Or bring you floating device and relax. A dog park very close by allows you to get your four legged friends in the water.
