We had an Amazing time! Fishing was great, cabin was so nice & cozy, the lake was beautiful, everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I highly recommend Kohls Resort! And we will definitely be back, thank you so much!

Great place to stay! The new owners are incredible. Our cabin was clean and the resort team made sure we were comfortable. The lakeside amenities were awesome, well cared for and easily accessible. It is a dog friendly resort with loads of activities on the grounds. Thank you for a lovely week!

Our family highly recommends Kohls Resort. We stayed in a nice pool side motel style room. The setting is beautiful and perfect for a family reunion or a couples get away. We were able to tour and look inside several cabins and each was sparkling clean, nice up north decor. The owners take great pride and hard work into upgrading the facilities and put a lot of heart into great hospitality.

Our cabin is perfect. Small, cozy, and comfortable. Great outdoor playground with horseshoes, ladder golf, and shuffleboard (all equipment provided).Great outdoor feel. Our family will greatly enjoy our time at the lake this summer!

Best pizza ever

Stayed in cabin 202, it was a bit rough, floors are pitched enough to throw you off but it worked. The liars lodge was not a hopping place but had what you needed if you asked. We rented a boat for two of the days we stayed, I was given a brief overview of it and they let me go. I was given a map showing shallow areas and rock piles to avoid and I did, very carefully. when we checked out, they charged us for a prop that they said I DESTROYED funny I made it in fine, I think I would have noticed if I destroyed a prop. I know for a fact I didnt hit anything. They said that this is just what their guy said and id have to talk to him in the morning (when we are leaving) I told them there was a mistake, they basically called me a liar. So, in the end they got an extra 85 dollars because my wife doesnt like confrontation and we really didnt have time to do an investigation. So they will never get another penny from us over an already beat up boat prop, and we had discussed returning prior to check out, Good job guys. And apparently their guy was supposed to show me the prop before I used it but never did, convenient.

Loved the fact that you didnt have to sign out paddle boards, canoes, etc. everytime you wanted to use something. Room was inviting and cozy. Bed was a little more firm than I like. Overall, we liked the location close to the beach, the service and the cozy room. The kids love the diary and read what everyone else and to say about their trip and wrote our own.Definitely going back!

Pizza was great, liked that they had local beer on tap. our waiter was very friendly and quick. it was a bit pricey for what we got, but overall a good experience.

This family-owned resort was so much fun to stay at. We only spent one night, and hope to return again to make more memories. The cabin was beautiful and spacious. The owners were so kind, and made us feel right at home.

We come here for an annual staff retreat and it has been wonderful every time. Its super nice, beautiful location, super friendly staff, and lots of room in the big cabin for large groups while still giving everyone enough room to have their own space. Love it!

It is disappointing when checking in that Jim (the owner?) informs us that we overpaid by booking on Hotels.com. Beware, there are extra fees for using a credit card. No soap, shampoo nor towels in the units. When we went back to the office for towels, we were once again reminded that we should have checked the resort website and not booked online.The resort is in a beautiful location and was very clean. Firewood was included!Just hate it when you are told by the resort that you overpaid, charged credit card fees over the Hotel.com stated price and you have to ask for towels! We had to go to a grocery to buy shampoo and soap!

Fun place, cabin was small but perfect for our family of 3. Swimming beach was clean and we caught a lot of fish! Just window a/c, would be nice to have central air, the bedrooms get a little warm at night! Lots of stuff to rent out for free like kayaks and canoes.

Super friendly staff. Quaint room with a north woods feel but not too over the top. It was a little early in the season so some stuff wasn’t open but we would stay here again.

Our stay was great...although the pool room and room we stayed in couldve been cleaner. Nobody wants to look at windows in the pool room and see cobwebs and spider webs. Same with the room. Cobwebs/spiderwebs in the corners on the floor and ceiling. Had to tell them that their pool needed to be cleaned (lots of dirt/hair at the bottom in the corners)...but they came right away and did it. Same with the hot tub, it was awesome that it was outside, but there seemed to be a lack of up keep...after a lot of people coming in and out of that hot tub, there was a ring of dirt inside of it, which isnt a good thing to look at when you want to relax. The beach was great...beautiful location. Stayed in one of the rooms attached to the pool, so I dont know what the actual cabins look like. Outside of some basic cleaning, we would definitely stay again!!!!

Very friendly and quiet place on the lake.

We arrived at dusk, there is no lights at the entrance to the resort or the office sign. It will be difficult to find in the dark, so make sure to arrive before dark. Also the resort do not provide towels unless you are flying in, the reason being the resort is not on city sewer system and their system cannot handle laundry, and was told there was an email sent on bring your own towels. It never occurred to me that I have to bring my own towel, so that what I get for not reading the conformation email. At checkout, the staff told me they have lander towels, but the person on the phone didnt not told me that when I called about the towels.I have 4 interactions with the staffs, 2 on the phone and 2 in person. They were all very friendly. Our cabin has a lake view. The cabins kitchen is equipped to some cook some basic family meals.

Pros: beautiful, family friendly, lots of fun things to do, Lake is warm even on cooler days.Cons: they do not tell you the paddle boat sinks. My sister and I went on the paddle boat(With no life jackets because they were all taken) and a few waves sunk our boat. We were swimming to get back to shore for 20 mins. We told them and all they said was yeah it tends to sink on our first night the water heater broke so we went with out hot water for a day and a half. We stayed in the poolside suite and the room is literally connected to the pool area so it get pretty loud. Have minimum contact with the owner jim, and try not to complain he is extremely unprofesional when dealing with customer service. And he just sorta has a creepy vibe to him. I can tell some of the staff are uncomfortable around him.Other then those things i had a pretty fun time.

Stayed here with my family for a school weekend. We loved the room we stayed in, and there wasnt many people at the resort so it was very quiet and private. The poolside suite was nicely decorated and spacious. We had the pool/sauna/game room to ourselves! Only complaint is that customers should never have to take off and put on a pool cover by themselves...dangerous and inconvenient. Was a little drive from the resort to and from the college too. Other than that minor detail, we LOVED our room, and amazing winter prices!

Stayed in cabin #2 right in front of the water. Quiet, peaceful, wonderful staff, nice pool. Beautiful fall colors around the lake. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at Kohls rather than getting a motel in Bemidji - turned out to be a Great idea! Perfect place to spend a weekend off-season - gorgeous views, amenities, and still close to town. Excited to bring friends and their kids with us sometime for a summer getaway. HIGHLY recommend!

Great location on Turtle Lake. Plenty of boats. Fishing can be tough if you dont know where the good spots are. Cabins are decent. Staff is friendly and helpful. We were surprised that many of their summer activities were no longer going on in early September. The website led us to believe they would still be held. 3 of the 4 hammocks were broken. The kitchen utensils in our cabin were flimsy and the knives are dull. The water had a slight metallic taste to it but it wasnt terrible. The water pressure in the shower was great. Our cabin had good heating. We didnt need to use the AC on our trip. Bring your own soap; our cabin didnt have any. Be careful when driving around the area; we saw many deer by the road and not all of them were afraid of cars. Lots of wildlife.Bemidji is 15 minutes away. They have a super Walmart and a super Target with plenty of food. Prices are cheap. There is also a Gander Outdoors and a Northland in Bemidji if you need fishing gear.Checkout was a breeze. We didnt need to clean the place before leaving and we just handed in our keys, paid, and left. This place is great for fishing trips with large groups.Overall its a pretty nice place. I would consider coming back.

GREAT place will be back for sure when there is snow on the ground. May take our club ride there next year if things work out. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great getaway

Our accommodations in the Bears Den were clean and tidy. Three beds and a fold out couch was perfect for our family of six. The lake is beautiful as was the forest.

This place is a great place to stay year round. The cabins offer more than the hotels in the area, there are lots of lake and outdoor activities to do, they have an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub, and they just upgraded their office area to house a bar and small restaurant. Love this place and keep going back every year!

There are Asian beetles all over the place. And the water pressure isnt the best. But I love the location and the views.

Nice cabin with lake view. Unfortunately the weather was quite cool so couldnt enjoy the screened porch and deck. Service was good and the owners were friendly.

Thier new lobby is great looking and welcoming. Theirs is the only resort with an indoor pool and I go to a lot of resorts. The staff will always welcome you with a smile.

The place is very well kept and welcoming would happily stay there again.
