This park has mostly been abandoned by the City of Beaumont. I have called them, gone to city council town halls, and even flagged down the park maintenance employees to get them to maintain it. They only change the trash at the front and cut the grass near the the street that you can see from the road. None of the trails are maintained and the athletic calisthenics equipment has not had maintenance in at least 25 years. The park is beautiful and peaceful with deer and rabbits. Beware coyotes and Banana Spiders about. Mid August has Muscadine grapes and May has blackberries! There used to be a baseball field but County Drainage poured a dirt mound in the field after Hurricane Ike and people stopped coming to play baseball after about 2009. The Drainage Authority torn up sections of the trails and some areas connect to the mud pits now and dead-end in weird spots now. It feels more like a trail blazing nature hike than a local city park. Be prepared to climb over logs and duck under branches and spiderwebs. Wear forest hiking attire without leaving the city limits.
Ride my bike here quiet
Park is awesome more like walking in the woods. May not want to go alone. And theres wet spots at times. Not for just anyone to go to. Only country ppl if you ask me.
