It’s a really interesting place right off of I-10. It’s great for kids, plus it gives you a chance to see these awesome creatures up close and personal. Not only are there alligators but caiman, crocodiles, snakes, tortoises, and other amazing animals. You can feed the alligators yourself if you pay the extra fee.

Ive been by this place over 100 times or more and always wondered what it was really like or worth seeing. My wife booked an event here for our little boys 5th birthday as hes into all kinds of critters. Aside from dinosaurs, Godzilla, and bugs, Alligators rank right up near the top for him. Im not sure what she paid, but at the last minute tracked on another $50 so the kids could experience the wading pool and pick up, touch, and handle baby Alligators!!! Ill have to say the kids really loved it and I was kind of shocked that a couple of them even really got into it!!! Seven kids from 3 up to 12 were having the best time of their little lives!!! The baby Alligators were about 2 to 2 1/2 feet long and they had their mouths taped closed so that they couldnt bite anyone. They had a Gator Country guide with our group the entire time we were there. The kids got to playwith the little gators for around 20 minutes, but Ill have to say for the kids it was money well spent. I think They could have spent their entire day in the wading pool! After that they had tables sweet up for our group of 26 under one side of the reptile houses wrap around covered porch. We brought our own drinks, water, cokes, and drink pouches as well as some snacks. One of our daughters brought his birthday cake. She had a bakery make a cake that looked very much like an Alligator and the inside was bright red like red meat!!! After serving the cake and drinks he opened his presents then afterward the tour guide have them a tour of the inside of the reptile house with a lots of different snakes and lizards. After that several of the employees gave a little class on reptiles and snakes. I would say that if your toung ones are into Alligators, snakes, and other reptiles this would be a very neat place to hold a little party for them! I will add a little advice at this point. Try to do it not in the middle of summer!!! They said they would set up some fans to keep the party cool, but they only brought out one fan!!! Our reservation was from 2-5 and we used up the while amount of our time. I would also recommend getting a fold up wagon like those sold at Academy to transport your cooler to your venue destination because its a pretty good size spread. It makes it so much easier.

I caught and rescued a young four month old raccoon that unfortunately got his head stuck in a can. My boyfriend and myself were able to catch him, remove the can, and house it in one of our small dog kennels. I called Gator Country and asked them if they could possibly take him in or refer us to someone that could. Our worries were that it wouldn’t be safe here were we found it and it needed care and nourishment if it was to survive and we unfortunately were unable at that time to give it that. The folks at Gator Country gave us the name and number of a wonderful woman in Baytown who did come and take him. It was an amazing experience and we had amazing assistance during our time with him. Gator Country went all out in passing on the referral and the care and concern they had made us feel assured that we made the right decision. What amazing and completely wonderful people they are.

This was like a dream come true! I have a love for alligators. My collection is huge. This place was the perfect Mother’s Day outing for me. The staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable. You are up close and personnel with the gators. They even have a small pool that you can get in and catch a few baby alligators. You get to do a self guided tour and fed the animals with the food you buy in the front. Lettuce for turtles, dry food and hotdogs for the gators. They do have a small petting area with goats, a indoor exhibit area with snakes and other gators. Snack shack with great snowcones. Definitely the most gators I have seen in one place . I love that this is like a rescues facility, I follow their YouTube channel, they are now at their forever home. You can also pay extra to feed the BIG gators. OMG what a rush that was. BIG Tex & BIG Al are amazing and crazy huge. The one employee Arlie, he feeds them barefoot is pretty crazy as well, he gives wonderful picture opportunities . I be back one day for a AIR boat ride for sure. Gary & Arlie have done great creating this place for these animals

I visited this wonderful sanctuary for alligators and other wildlife for my birthday. I was so intrigued by what I seen as I walked through that I didn’t get to see everything or get to experience the wading pool with the baby gators (I was given two passes to return). This was a very educational visit. A staff member by the name of Leo was so knowledgeable about the gators that because of him I have a new found love for these creatures. Leo also took us on a boat tour (highly recommended) of the Bayou. This was so peaceful and relaxing; and to see the natural habitat of the alligators was a treat in itself.I have since passed on my knowledge of alligators to others and dismissed the stereotypes that people have about alligators. Now, I can go on and on about what I seen and my experience at Gator Country but you should come out and experience it for yourself. It’s well worth it. I will DEFINITELY be back again and again. I gave it four stars ONLY because I haven’t had the full experience yet because of my statement in the beginning. Will change once I return

This is the touristiest trap of all Tourist traps. Gators were cool And all but had quite an ordeal when we got to the office . I made reservations for the boat tour which was nice. But had to drive out of the way in the boonies for it. But this was a wayyy overpriced experience. The thing that was most disturbing to me was that I felt they were understaffed and some of the animals were not taken care of . I am a hedge hog owner and this place had two hedgehogs there. There were tons of flies all up in the cage, bedding that needed replaced, they were covered in feces and were not used to being held . I wanted to take them home with me and give them the care they deserve and need just as the other animals There do.

This place is the coolest! Located off of I-10, this gator sanctuary allows you to get up close with gators in their appropriate housing. The easter egg hunt proved to be really awesome for adults and kiddos alike. The employees are knowledgable about the gators and very kid friendly! For a fun day with or without kids come to gator country and get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. The property is very clean. I thought it may have a stench like at a zoo but it does not! It is very pleasant to look and learn about the alligators with no judgment from the staff. They rehabilitate sick and injured gators which will,in turn, live their days out in the sanctuary. Happy animals with people who truly care about their safety.Over all, a great experience and a good, fun day with the kids, outside in nature, away from technology and back to nature. Being a visitor from out of town, this place was one of the best attractions we went to during our three month stay in the area. It was perfect for all ages, with plenty of excitement for both young and old alike. We went towards closing, which is perfect. Id recommend going arround feeding time. This allows you to actually see the ridiculously sized gators they have there in action. The interns (staff) were excellent! They made the show fun, entertaining, and actually hilarious! They even took our phones up close and got pictures litterally feet away from the 13+ foot long gator! They treated my girlfriend and I with respect and answered all of our questions. Great animal exhibits.Id recommend bringing a hat/sunscreen and a water bottle. Also, theyll ask when you purchase your wristbands if youd like to tip the interns. Usually asking for tips prior to service being performed bothers me so I didnt leave one. I really regretted that. They went out of their way to make sure each guest there had a unique and fun experience. Definitely deserved a large tip.Over all, youd be remiss not to check it out.
