I enjoyed this tour very much! The history in this house is amazing! Barbara was very informative and I will be back when the upper floors are open. Right now the 1st floor only is allowed due to COVID19 precautions. Beaumont has so much history and anyone interested in origins of our nation would be interested!

Very cool experience. It really does bring you back in time. The fact that everything in the home is original and actually belonged to the family makes the experience that much better. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff as well. Also, very cheap at only five bucks a person. If youre considering going, do it! We drove over an hour on a Saturday afternoon to visit and it was well worth it.

Wonderful tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide. Price was 5 dollars and well worth every penny. We took the early tour and not crowded. You do need to call and set your time, because they only allow a few people at a time. Its a full 1 hour tour

This place was a pleasure to visit. There was a lot of valuable information about the family and the history of the town. We had a great time. The house has been beautifully restored and kept up. The people in charge of the tours are knowledgeable and great to visit with. I love that the tours are lead by someone who knows about the family and the time period depicted in the home. Its well worth the time to visit!

Very well kept landmark. Tour was good but long. About an hour and half. No pictures allowed. And you have to leave your purse in a locker so be prepared. We enjoyed all the info overall.

Very cool place. Its a really neat place to check out and learn a little bit about old Beaumont. We took the full tour, we were told it would be 45 min to 1 hour long. It took closer to 2 hours total. The staff was very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Both our tour guides were very informative. The property is extremely well taken care of, the house has a large array of items from the late 1800s to mid 1900s.The tour also covers the servants quarters. Not much to see but it is there.Overall a nice tour to take if you are either from the area or here looking for historical tours.

Excellent example of the upper class lifestyle of a Texas family from the 1860s. All original furnishings left by the family makes it very real. Had a wonderful tour guide who was very knowledgeable and personable. Enjoyed our time there very much!

We stopped through for the Christmas open house. It was a splendid evening -- starting for us with the four-part acapella choir and then a tour through the McFaddin-Ward House. The Christmas lights on the front of the house and along the spacious porch would have made my night. Tour inside the house was well organized with very knowledgeable docent who did a great job of moving the visitors through. The somberness of the house at night was a surprise for me -- but electricity was a new thing back when this house was built. The evening finished with dulcimer concert back in the greeting house. If you love old splendid houses, you will not want to miss this one. The sites and the history will capture your imagination.
