If you are a moderate hiker this trail is great. Its not easy or for beginners. There were a few challenges but once you reach the top its worth it. I highly recommend getting a walking stick which you can find at the beginning of the hike. There is also a lot of wild life so be prepared. We had a snake cross or our path but he went on his merry way. Its a nice challenging hike and Id say it took us 4 hours total to hike to the top and back down with lots of breaks to rest.

Not the easiest of trails, but nice hike to the summit. Lots of rocks and steep inclines.

Challenging first 1.25 miles incline. Its rocky in most parts so make sure you wear sturdy footwear. I would not recommend for young children. Overall a nice trail for a cooler day.

Nice hike, not as crowded as nearby mount beacon. Views are great, but not as expansive.

Wow is the best way I can describe the trails at Fishkill Ridge. I fell in love with this place from the moment I put my boots on the ground. I will say that if you decide to make your way up to THE MT. BEACON EIGHT MEMORIAL than you should be prepared for a decently tough hike. It is definitely worth the time, sweat and energy that it takes to get there. Once you make it past there trust me and keep going on ip and take advantage of all that the mountain had to offer. There isn’t much more gorgeous around than when you start going higher and higher up and soak up the seclusion that you will earn along your hike. There are a bunch of different trail ways here as well.

Great hike! Download the map ahead of time and get alltrails if you dont already have it. The trails can be a little sparsely marked. The trail itself is beautifully maintained and worth the steep inclines!

Amazing hikes. This is the quieter part of the Hudson Highland trails. If youre feeling adventurous you can find a crash site from a plane that hit the mountain.

Went on a beautiful Saturday morning w our 5 and 7 year old. Not a demanding hike but was very rocky in some areas which the kids needed some help with. Parking is minimal and the trail was not as crowded as several others in the area.

I recommend hikers get a topographic map of the area before hiking here. The trails arent well marked and the maps at the entrance are useless. There was also a lot of litter throughout the trail. I would recommend this trail as a area to practice bushwhacking. Thats the only way to see any views during the summer time.

Its almost a mile and a half for the red trail. Its fairly steep I would not recommend this for small children or small pets for that matter. Nice views from the top. the white trail continues along the brow of the mountain or cuts across to the other side, go early in the morning if possible. nice hike .

Level 9 and the place is less crowded. There are 3 peaks which was a bonus. Consider carrying some extra water, especially on a sunny day. Took 1 hour 40 mins to ascend to the lambs hill. Awesome views.

Trails through the terrain towards the top can get a bit steep but its easy to navigate.

A nice not too steep trail. Rarely very busy. Some of the trail is a bit closer to peoples houses than I would like, but the view into a ravine is worth the trip.
