Wow.Was downtown BTR on a clear cool Sunday and it was just fantastic!I got a chance to fly my drone, capture some great shots and scenery. I also rode bikes with some family and friends, if you havent checked out the gotcha bikes yet, give them a try you wont be disappointed.

A nice place to visit. During the week parking can be tricky, but I came to see the Mississippi River before we have yet another hurricane rolls in this year, and the water is pretty low.

Rode bicycles down there. Got memorized by how breathtaking, clean and beautiful the levee, oaks, river and surroundings are. There is even a bike tool rack on the levee path provided by the city in case you have a tire issue or something. We went just before sunset after the work crowds left. Very relaxing and fun place to ride/walk.

We had a really hard time to find public parking. Finally, we got into the public parking and pay $10 dollar for half day. There is a track on the side of river which is good for quick walk and roam around riverfront. There is historical war museum as well. We could not make it because it was closed for a day. It is good place to snaps picture and spend few hours with friends and family. The cool breezes from the river also add adventure of your time.You will definitely enjoy your time here.

Excellent view of the Mississippi River. Went there after dinner for a walk with family and loved it. There are bikes available if you want to ride. Surprisingly it was not at all crowded and you could sit peacefully there and appreciate the view. There is a train track parallel to the river. If you are traveling to Baton Rouge, this place is a must visit.

Its a nice spot for a picture and view of the river. If you walk the levee during the afternoon or evening its even better. Just make sure you dont go too late, a lot of shady people around at night.

The plaza has been revamped a lot since I was a child. We watched the sunset around 6:30 and then later that evening walked along the river. We were surprised at how beautiful the sunset was over the Mississippi. The walkway is well lit even at the darkest part of the night. It was pretty clean on the day we went.

Baton Rouge has done a really nice job making this a pedestrian and family friendly area...you can see a little bit of everything along the area from historic buildings to cool boats and some good seats and fun water works...

I love running at the levee on a daily basis prior to hitting the anytime fitness right off of government street ... they have a lot of events down town and this is a great place to take a stroll with family or even alone . It is pet friendly with water fountains equip for our furry friends ...

My husband and I decided to walk there again tonight had been there before. It was nice had plenty of lighting could seat on the benches or stairs. Its amazing to see the great Mississippi River up close and personal.

One of my favorite places in Baton Rouge. Only wish we kept our water cleaner. Great for kids and first (or second or third...) dates.

If you want a nice spot to wind down and relax, Riverfront Plaza is the place for you. I visited it for the first time, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. They have friendly staff, and the rooms are spacious.

The vista over the Mississippi River really brings it to life as it passes underneath you. You also get a very nice view of the USS Kidd. The WWII era ship is beautiful and well maintained. It is really something to see and the Riverfront Plaza offers a stunning view of the outside of it. I love coming here and it is a great place to take the family on a sunny day.

Great place to visit. Not enough of the locals take advantage of this. The only negative I have is I wish the walkway on top of the levee went all the way to the end of the levee at the North end. Instead it just stops a hundred yards short and becomes gravel and grass, rough walking, so I tried to walk down the side to get out of the gravel and ended falling all the way down the the street and sidewalk and broke my foot! Bad! So a nice day at the levee and pier ended very bad. Other than that it was a very nice day on the levee. Bill, LA

Love going sit on the steps at the levee, especially at night. New since last time Ive been out there (has been a few months or so) are a couple of chairs that are placed in a few spots on the Pershing Pier (next to the USS Kidd) along with country music playing over the speakers.

Is awesome an the Rivers high soon as we cross over the leavitt over there behind the the Bell parking lot we looked over in the water which was up about 10 ft before the top of the levee and there was a freaking 10-foot alligator swear to God we got video of it we posted it and everything so yeah 10-foot alligator over there right now running around in the Mississippi River so there are alligators in the Mississippi River if anybody ever asks that question that is your answer and I will post this video and several other pictures you know of the leisure time that we had out there and you can figure it out for yourself so thank you and bye

Quite possibly the most scenic view you can get near sea-level in Baton Rouge. Around sunset is, of course, the best time to take advantage of cool(er) weather and perfect light.

The riverfront Plaza is nice, even though there arent any great places to eat right there. And it is also near the USS Kidd, as well as being right around the corner from the old state capital building, the Baton Rouge Museum, and the planetarium

Really nice area! Riverwalk is beautiful. The USS Kidd is docked here as a museum. The Arts and Science Museum is there as well as the Old Capitol which is also a museum. I did not explore the entire area, but there seems to be quite a few things to see and do here. There is some construction going on around to the Riverwalk right now, but once its totally done, it will be gorgeous. You can still get around the construction now though.
