This is a very pretty place as an event location. It is not really a museum.

Party Portraits Photo Booth was here on Saturday, June 13th, 2020, and had the opportunity of providing our Magic Mirror Photo Booth Services to, the newlyweds, Claire and Edwin, for their Wedding Reception. We would like to thank them for having us and recommend the Old Governors Mansion to anyone looking for a reception venue in Baton Rouge,LA. Even during the COVID-19 crisis they held true to their service commitment and took every measure in the book to make sure guests were safe.

Great venue for a wedding, I mention this due to the separation of the rooms i.e. a cake cutting room, dressing rooms etc. for a wedding. Please bear in mind the space is formally a home/Mansion built many years ago to accommodate LAs governors and their families, so the rooms are separated. The ground floor is not very open. The outside grounds balconies and intricate details in and around the property are beautiful! Gorgeous venue!

What a beautiful place to have your wedding!! I have loved every aspect of the mansion and am so glad I chose it for my March 3, 2018 wedding. I had no issues whatsoever and the new events coordinator, Brooke, is so personable and amenable to your needs. She is always available and quick to get in touch with you via phone/email about anything! Wonderful venue, wonderful service!

We were unable to take the 1 hour tour, but the guide let us look in the first floor rooms. The ballroom has large mirrors at each end with 3 chandeliers in the room. In the middle of the room, looking at either mirror, the chandeliers seem to go on for ever! The guide was a true Southern gentleman, a year younger than the mansion.

WOW! What an amazing opportunity! Today we had a photoshoot for bridals at this lovely place. We were greeted but the lovely Director and she gave us the most magical experience. Thank you Brooke for being so accommodating. She made sure we had everything we needed throughout the shoot. I highly recommend doing your bridals here. The sneak peaks are breath taking!

We drove out of our way to visit the old Governors Mansion, upon arrival we found the Building closed and no indication of its hours that may be open to the public. The site and historic building are nice but it would be more interesting to tour the inside.
