This place is so beautiful!! Omg all the ducks and we even seen a mom with her little ducklings it was beautiful... Its closer to home... So will be bringing the kids and mom so we can go on walks

Its a great place to fish, and take your kids to get out of the house for a while. The staff there is super nice and come talk to you all the time. They have ducks and geese that you can feed. It is a really great atmosphere and we go all the time.

My family have been residents of the area for more than 25 years. I have seen this area go from United States Air Force Depot 2 a FEMA trash collection site to the facility that it is now. The Reformation of it over the last few years has been beautiful. Today my youngest grandson and I enjoyed 4 hours at the facility. We only played on the playground equipment, the bike path, and did a little fishing. We did not utilize any of the Interior facilities, but we had a great time. I think its great that b r e c has provided an area like this for this community. Thank you. Please dont dump all the trash next door anymore. Im sure we can find another site to do that. Thank you again!

First and foremost, for those of you who are parents there is a decent inside area for children to play as well as a nice outside. This is a very calm park. I love that there is not a lot of calamity going on around me as I walk or jog around. The one thing I love about this park is that the sidewalk goes completely around surrounded by a lake that you can fish in if youd like. However, the only issue I have with this park is that there are days that there are so many ducks. The issue is not with the ducks themselves, but the tiny splotches of dung that they leave behind along the parkway. Luckily, the establishment itself is pretty good at clearing that off along with the rain of course. There is an inside track that I also utilize and love. The only issue with the inside track is that it is definitely not designed for a lot of people. It is free to use, but there are only three lanes for walking one of which is a single lane that is used for running. Like I said before the perks of this is that there arent that many people. Its neat in there and relatively clean (for the most part.) For the price of free--I would say you cant beat it. By-the-by, there is a inside gym but in order to use it you must have a $15 membership monthly.

Great for kids and parents, you can also make new friends and and meet new people. This place was clean and there was staff present to assist any need concerning the park or its facilities.

Great hidden gem in Baton Rouge for birthday parties. Only thing is, I think with rental of a birthday room, the indoor playground should be open as well. As is the indoor playground is only open and open to public certain hours during the week and only open on Saturday on the weekend. We had a party on Sunday last year and it was great but the indoor playground being locked was a big tease to the kids. Hope they change this rule in the future... even if it cost a little more when you rent a room, I believe it would be worth it.

Has a nice mini workout station. Thats a great plus!

Great indoor exercise track. 7 rounds equals to 1 mile. Comfortable temperatures even when very temperatures outside are very hot or cold.

Love love love this Recreation center and the park is amazing,no one should have any complaints,its in a great location and has something for the young and the young at heart, great use of our tax dollars!

Great remodeling. Inside park and track still there. Could use remodeling because I played on the same equipment 25 yrs ago but the equipment and play ground indoor is still fantastic and my kids 9 and 7 love going there!

Very clean and quiet! Great place to fish or play or just to get some quiet time. Could use more seating near fishing areas for the visitors that cannot stand for long periods.

Had a great time. The park is beautiful and family friendly. It has really cool outdoor exercise equipment as well as a full indoor gym and a walk and run path around the lake.

This park is nothing like it was in my high school days when the main attraction was the basketball courts . I love that they kept them and have built a beautiful fishing pond and walk way ... the play area is clean with plenty of seating for parents to watch and tables that are perfect for a picnic ... there is also an area for adult fitness ... I will be visiting again soon !

I use to go when I was a kid. Now I have my own kid. Seeing him enjoy it as much as I did means so much. The upgrades are great. I would have never imagined!

Beautiful park with a duck pond, play areas for little ones and older kids. Well maintained like all other brec facilities. Walking loop is a bonus for adults taking the kids to the park. Indoor facilities were looking good as well.

Great place to have funveith the kids, exercise and have parties and group meetings.

The inside was clean and a great place for hosting a birthday party.

This is a jewel of a park a great use of our tax dollars.it has it all walking fishing kid space inside and out. Great for families

Very nice place. I think it need a little more police presence when its alot of people out. The guy working the grounds caught someone shooting up drugs in the bathroom. Other than that nice place.

Beautifuly kept Park..wonderful water play area and lots climbing places, fitness stuff for adults,,walking paths, clean fishing pond and shade pergolas to sit and snack. Lucky the folk who come here!

Love the water park for the kids & the ground itself is Kid Friendly so if your child falls,they are falling on soft ground. Nice walking & BBQ area. The ducks may chase you....But otherwise is a nice park to have a family event or to get a good walk for exercise.. Also the bathrooms are clean considering its in a park...

The upgrade to this park is great.

Very nice park. My 3 kids ages 4 to 11 enjoyed their time spent here. Really loved how there is equipment for all three to play on. Looking to move into the area so I see us going back here often.

A good place to take ur kids

Great place to walk and relax. Splash pad and playground were in excellent condition, and thoroughly enjoyed by my son. The pond doesnt appear to have many fish, which isnt surprising, seeing as BREC doesnt properly stock or maintain their ponds. It doesnt have much pond scum yet, but I havent seen anyone catch a fish.

Great park! Pretty outdoor space. Clean facilities and bathrooms. Nice indoor track and kids’ play area. Took my children to play one rainy day, and stumbled upon the Virtual Park. I decided to host a party for my 6 yr old there. So glad I did. There was something for everyone; toddler to adult. It was one of the best parties I’ve ever thrown, and the fees are very reasonable. It was more affordable than other party spots. The Virtual Park will be at the top of my list of places to have a kid’s party from now on.

A very nice park with a playground for 2-5 year olds and a playground for older children. Basketball courts, a walking trail, beautiful lake with ducks and bathrooms. I love taking my kids here to play.

Great park! Theres lots of outside room, three pavilions, a spray pad. The rec center is huge with an indoor track & an indoor playground. There are also several rooms that can be rented for events like birthday parties. Overall, highly recommend!

The work out room is great! The times are convenient as well. Lovely scenery. The only con is my 9 year old cant go play in the play area while Im working out even when accompanied by my 17 year old

I HADNT BEEN TO NORTH SHERWOOD FOREST PARK FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS, BREK PARKS REALLY DID A NICE JOB ON THIS PARK AREA. THERE ARE AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT AREAS YOU CAN RENT FOR PARTYS, HOSE PIPES ARE AVAILABLE FOR CLEAN UPS. THE FISHING AREA HAS A LARGE SIMI-CIRCURAL PIER, ALONG WITH PLENTY FISHING GROUND AROUND THE LARGE LAKE. THERE ARE 3 DIFFERENT PLAY GROUNDS FOR THE TODDLERS, AND LARGER KIDS. THEY ALSO HAVE AN ENCLOSED SAND PIT. WATER FOUNTAINS, AND RESTROOMS ARE LOCATED BEHIND THE PLAYGROUND AREA.

I like the covered pavilions they are roomy and close to the water. Bathroom was clean. I didnt like the idea of a family hoarding in on our space that we got there at 7:00 am to get. They wanted the space we had so they could have a party. How rude. We just left.

The park is amazing especially after the renovations. Its so serene. You can fish from the pier and enjoy a nice workout on the walking trail. The kids will enjoy the new and improved park!

Beautiful upgrade! All BREC Parks should be upgraded. I dont really care for the lake....after the Lil rains we been having lately, the water looks really high...also, the geese makes a mess and people are feeding them, I think. They are mean too. Those two elements are negatives and a hazard. But just my opinion, thats only why I gave it a 4. Oh, I wish they would redo the inside track, now, that would be a Bonus!!!....But the park upgrades is several large pavilion with covering or trellis. There is children playground with rubber ground; a large wet area for them to play; even a huge SandHouse (thats right-house) with seating for the parents and most importantly, to keep the sand cool and contained (GENIUS!). Oh, still have the large basketball court and now a tennis court. Miles markers pathways; Seating, lighting Everywhere; Easy Parking; My Goodness! It is So much to be said about ALL the things they DONE right in this park for this community, that words really just cant explain, but go and take a stroll yourself and see our tax dollars paying off. The scenery is Enjoyed/Appreciated by ALL.

The park is Calm and Peaceful.. The park grounds are clean and well maintained. Has a good number of Tennis courts! The grass lawns are well maintained too. I really enjoy walking on the trails..
