My husband and I took an evening tour and we loved it! The history of the house is fascinating and we are so rooting for the terrific couple that are making the house amazing again. The sugared cranberries served at the beginning were fantastic!! Thank you for opening up your home and working so hard to preserve a great slice of Florida history.

This is by far the best place I have ever visited. It has a collection of antiques, taxidermy, swords, and amazing inventions. The house is just spectacular. The history/story is even better. I truly felt such an overwhelming feeling of tranquility on this property that I teared up when entering the home. Went two weekends back to back. Did a day tour and night tour. Will definitely make it a yearly trip. Thanks for the delicious treats .

I saw the house on a show on Net Flix, called Amazing Interiors, and decided to go see it. We toured on the home on a halloween day tour. The home and our tour guides, the homeowners, exceeded all expectations. Tremendous historical information, phenomenal passion to preservation by the homeowners, and a true treasure in our State. Great tour and wonderful way to spend some time. We plan to return for the Christmas tour. The homeowners are amazing and Kristin took extra effort to reassure our young son that the tour was not scary and made him feel at great ease.

Took a Halloween themed tour of the Wonder House and it exceded my expectations. Tour guide was very knowledgable of the houses history and many interesting stories.There is walking and stairs. They offer refreshments and small gifts. Enjoyable and worth the trip.

I honestly want to move in haha. Also couldnt believe there was a basement..in Florida!! A definite must see.

The gracious hosts are full of stories about the home and are doing an outstanding job restoring it back to its original, period correct look. The Wonder House was built by my great grandfather Conrad Schuck beginning in 1926. I have been to the property two times previously to this visit, which was my first time inside the house.It’s absolutely incredible. Drew and Krislin have brought the house back to its original glorious charm and are proud to share it with curious visitors. The house itself is interesting enough but the stories of the original builder and subsequent occupants are equally as noteworthy.The property is beautiful with gardens and a ‘moat’ and interesting and attractive designs and layouts. The house is an engineering marvel with so many great and innovative design features. The current owners have decorated it in an amazing period correct style that is true to the tastes of the original designer and builder. They have presented it in a fun and interesting way that’s worth exploring.Any fan of history, the unusual, and interesting things would enjoy the tour and the tales that accompany it.I am very grateful that the property is being cared for by the current owners and I know that my great grandfather would be pleased that his house and story is being shared.

I love that this place has a parking lot! I tried the little wonder which reminded me of a mini Belgian waffle and then I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. All of it was super delicious. Nick took my order and he was very friendly and welcoming. The building has a cozy rustic feel and it was nice to sit by the windows and watch the cars go by. I’d come here again for sure.

Should be a place all tourists and locals visit, great tour.

The Wonder House is a very unusual place full of fantastic inventions by the builder and like nothing you have ever seen before. A detailed tour by the current owners shows you the imaginative (and sometimes mysterious) design that was far ahead of its time. I highly recommend visiting!

I absolutely loved it! My family and I did the tour and we had so much fun walking through and learning about the crazy rooms. The gracious owners provided complimentary home-made food and refreshments in one of their gorgeous sun rooms. Every room was rich with wacky history and very entertaining stories about all the inventions and oddities packed into each living space. The owners, who work alone on the house at the moment, were hilarious and very entertaining. We ended up staying at least an hour after to talk to them, seeing as we were the last tour of the day. Cant wait to go back in a few years and see all the progress!!

Wow. Just Wow!! What a unique experience. The tour is lead by the owner who has done extensive research. Each room is decorated in period furniture. I took the tour because my Mom had gone on tours here as a child, so there was some nostalgia in the visit. What was amazing was all the inventions that the builder put into the house that were so ahead of his time. It is a fascinating experience and worth the visit.

Interesting architecture on both the inside and out, with a touch of creepiness. You can book tours on their website. This is still a private home, so tours must be scheduled in advance. No walk ups permitted.

Be prepared to spend some time enjoying the ideas its original owner and designer had. Love the water in the walls to cool the home. What foresight and thought went into the home. Wow!

After snagging 5 last-minute open tour slots, our group was treated to a fascinating, fact- and impression-filled journey through the Wonder House. The passion for their home and its history exhibited by both Drew and Kris was obvious and contagious. After over 90 minutes, we were still amazed and spellbound to the point where we had to drag ourselves away from our host so that he could continue with his next tour!

I was amazed, this is in the top of the list of the best things I have ever seen. In the 1930’s this was the number one tour attraction to see in Florida. The pictures on the internet do not even come close to the beautiful workman ship in this house. The man who designed and built this house was a century or more ahead of his time. His attention to detail and engineering was both gifted and meticulous.The entire house, even the 22-foot basement was built by hand. All the beautiful mosaics were laid by hand by him and his family. The house has a beautiful mote, a self-watering system for the vines that use to cover the house, a geo-thermal cooling system. He has a swimming pool on the 2nd floor. These are just a few of the magnificent engineering and inventions he built into the home. To further shock you, he only had a few years in grade school.The new owners are restoring this beautiful home. They have completed a little over 60% of the inside.Drew provides an exceptional tour with the amazing details, inventions and beauty of the house. They have pictures when the house was originally built and other interesting details about the original owners and the house. The pictures from the 1930’s are GORGEOUS.If you have an opportunity to see this beautiful workmanship it’s an easy drive to Bartow. Maybe in the future this will once again be one of the top things to see in Florida, I thought it was just amazing how far ahead of his time he was when he built the home and what a beautiful work of art.

Ive seen this unique home sit in disrepair for years. I had always hoped someone would come to its rescue before the wrecking ball found it. Im so happy to see this young couple lovingly restoring it to its former glory. The cost of the tour is well worth it especially considering what a huge restoration project this is. Dont hesitate to come see what a Wonder House this truly is.

Someone owns this amazingly historic and eclectic house located in a quiet Bartow neighborhood. There is a lot of history in this truly facinating home. If youve never seen it then you must drive by and check it out.

If you want to experience something truly unique ( and not stand in long lines sweating in the Florida heat) swing by the Wonder House in Bartow! My mom and I had an opportunity to visit last Saturday (Aug, 17, 2019) and we both truly enjoyed learning the history behind this amazing home. I have to add that the current owners ( and tour guides) can discuss Conrad, his family, and his many amazing inventions in a way that makes you walk away knowing the house is in the right hands! Go, enjoy the tour!

We experienced a tour last week and I was in awe at how much information the owners had regarding the original builder. We loved listening to all the stories about the construction and their passion to bring it back to the way Conrad(original builder) planned. This is a must see experience, especially if you are from Bartow. They are doing amazing things to the House of a Thousand Gadgets. We cant wait to go back after they have more of the house finished.

New ownership has put a lot of time and money into this historic venue and is has been such a blessing to the community. Had the opportunity to get a tour of the house and eat dinner their and it is amazing the face lift they have given it. I walk my dog by the house each week and see them toiling away in the yard on the massive amounts of landscaping and can’t wait for the exterior transformation to be complete. Really the focal point of the whole neighborhood. It would be cool if all the water features are able to come to life at some point.

This house is a true Oddity full of fact, fiction and folklore. The young couple that currently own the house who live there by the way, have taken it upon themselves to save the history of the house. The tour that they give of the home is full of information and fun facts about the home, the Builder, and past owners. I highly recommend taking a tour of this amazing home. It was amazing to get to see the hard work going into restoring this house. I was able to learn some new things about a house I grew up hearing so many stories about. This is the jewel of Bartow and a historic Landmark that Im so excited is finally able to be shared again. Not enough can be said to applaud the work Drew and Krislin have put into this. Just saw a Facebook post from a local news station today about the approval of tours. I did some research online. I can’t wait to visit and bring my family for a tour. I’d love to learn more about the builders oddities collection, history, and his inventions.
