This church has some striking history .. shared congregations.Just being open during the day .. there are individuals there that will walk you through the church and even point out its architectural details gives you an appreciation for the missions here of faith.I would suggest a quiet reverence, they do let you photograph (stained glass magnificient) and dont overlook the pipe organ (wow!)

Very beautiful church on the interior. I took several pictures. Only wished there had been someone there to talk to. We did light a prayer candle and signed the guest book.

First Cathedral West of the Appalachians. 200 years old this year! Just an awesome presence of the Lord can be felt in this Holy place. Our tour guide, Margaret, was so passionate and knowledgeable. A great place to get away from the stress of the world and be with our God.

We just kinda ran into this experience, but Margaret, our volunteer tour guide, was too sweet. So much history. Such a beautiful place. She even explained the difference between a Basilica and a Cathedral. Now I know. Bardstown is lovely. If you go, check out this beautiful place.

Your hours said you’d be open til 5p and yet you were closed at 3p. What ever happened to keeping the church open for weary travelers?? All we wanted to do was visit your space, pay homage and rest for a bit in this historic site. Why does every place in this town lie about their hours of operation?!

Absolutely most beautiful experience at the 200th anniversary celebration Mass. Fr Terry did a spectacular job pulling this all together with much help. The choir was fantastic!!

Love the bascilica. Understated beauty. Plenty of parking. Went to mass. The microphone seems to need work . all else is great.
