We travelled to Bardstown just to explore a new place. We stopped here to visit the civil war museum as well as see the village. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Admission pricing is awesome considering you get into all 4 places PLUS your ticket is good for 2 days. We really enjoyed this trip! I highly recommend.

Wonderful, large collection of Union & Confederate Uniforms, weapons, & equipment. Showcases displaying complete sets of artifacts from various soldiers on both sides. Also Naval uniforms, band uniforms & instruments, medical equipment. Also vintage art prints of various battles. The log building village nextdoor is well laid out to depict 1800s life on the Kentucky frontier and interaction with native tribes.

Its been about four years since I have been there, so I dont recall price or accessibility. There was still many exhibits under construction. The Viilage was so entertaining and educational. The pond and shoreline was filled with a variety of different duck species, which were beautiful. Only the Smithsonian would have such authentic exhibits of the Civil War (whats left of its memory) and Wildlife, house in its own building. This attraction is certainly worth the small amount of walking

This place is so great to learn about bardstwon past, you can see multiple ways in which the past is brought to the present. Its so enjoyable to bring your family and is very fun for the family too, if you want to learn about our history go here you will have no regrets.

I loved walking around the old village! The museum itself is very nice. An important reminder that war is ugly and history is important. You don’t need an entire day to see everything. I recommend this museum for everyone.

One admission fee gets you entry to 4 museums over 2 days .. this is a good stop for helping your children to appreciate history. The outdoor buildings are also great to walk through and gain appreciation for careers of the past, native tribal heritage.

We were so glad to make the trip down from Louisville. The Civil War items that they have on display are tremendous. We are not Civil War buffs by any means, but this was a great collection. The price of admission was definitely worth it. Allow yourself anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on how much you read.

You can walk around and see some old shacks but information was lacking and no one there to provide any of the history. Cute place to walk around for a bit but not really rich with history.

I lived in bardstown for a few years. Came bk to visit w a friend and took her to this place. We were never told hello, or welcome in, not one word was ever spoken by a man sitting behind the counter. We left without a thank you for coming. Ill go bk, but i will let myself be known if employees dont speak to me. Terrible feeling there

Very interesting place to visit, I like history and the civil war is right up there , it brought to life what the men and weman went through in that erra,. Very harsh elements. I really like the information. But the grounds needed to be mowed and trimmed, the grass was getting pretty tall. And they put modern pictures in the building whitch, didnt go with the settings.

Very large, the village is nice and clean and well maintained, easy to get to regardless of health issues. The only thing I saw and was concerned about was there is cameras in every room/cabin. What is going on in there that those are needed for? Creepy. But overall well worth the money and the cost covers all 3 museums and you get 2 consecutive days to enjoy them just in case you need it.

Meh. Worth the price for a couple items not found anywhere else but several displays are mislabeled and the worst offense is they have a picture of Nathan Bedford Forrest staring up the ass of a Yankee cavalry horse!Maybe the general doesnt mind as thats probably the view he most had during the war as they skedaddled away in fright, but I found it distasteful and disrespectful.Youre not going to get much local war info, either. Mostly I got, Um. Im not sure, or an at least honest, I dont know, to what should have been simple questions. You get two other museums for the admission price, so I guess it will keep any amateur historian starting out entertained.
