You cannot visit without a permit but many cruises will bring you close by for pictures and observation of the historic light. We came by in June and observed seals and pups on the rocks sunning combine that with the views and its well worth a drive by.

Beautiful. Lots of seals and cormorants.

Beautiful place. Took the kids on a lobster boat tour experience. Saw the sea life, harbor seals, and a peregrine falcon, upon the light house. Had a wonderful experience. All kiddos (infant, toddler, and 6 year old) had a blast. So did the adults. Do wear a coat or jacket when you go on these tours. It is significantly cooler than the city.

Take the Bar Harbor Whale Co boat tour of the 5 lighthouses. Very good for photos and is well narrated. Learn stuff!

My last duty station while in the Coast Guard was Egg Rock Light. Previous to that I served at Jonesport, ME and The Cutter Munro WHEC 724.

Very unique place, seals and birds also. We saw this from a lobster and seal cruise.

Fascinating to pass by

Seals, eagles, gulls and a lovely lighthouse. Well worth the tour.

It was in July. Wonderful cruise from bar harbor to egg rock lighthouse!! You can see many seals near the light house!

Not a lot to do or see. The parking lot is small, and you can only look at the lighthouse not tour or go to the top. One of the only lighthouses in the area you can visit from land though.

Absolutely beautiful, gorgeous day on the water. We visited while on the Miss Samantha. It was such a treat.
