A nice hike and not too tough. A good day for hobby hikers, young and old.

We opted to take the shortest path to the top- by parking right at the trailhead on Otter Creek road and taking the ladder trail. Be prepared for at least twenty minutes of 45 degree incline hiking- most of which were stairs. We admittedly got winded halfway up and had to take a breather- dont do this one at the end of the day. We came down by the path to the South, which ended up being a pretty gentle incline most of the way down.

Im an avid hiker and I really enjoyed this hike. I went up the Ladder Trail which was actually more stairs than anything. Its fairly steep on the way up and it will definitely hit those quads. Good diversity of things to look at along the trail if you do the entire loop and come down the backside of the North Ridge Trail. The views of Bar Harbor are pretty good. I did the loop that was 3.2 miles long that come out on the Jesup path then along the pond/bog.I would recommend this trail.

Dorr Mountain is often overlooked because of its proximity to Cadillac. And its quite undeserved - the views it offers are breathtaking: Bar Harbor, its islands and the town. No crowds at all.And you can still get to Cadillac from there. Just keep in mind the ravine between the two - youll have to descend about 200 ft from Dorr, then climb 400 ft to the top of Cadillac.
