There is much to enjoy about Caddilac Mountain and many ways to enjoy it. The drive up is easy and the views spectacular. The walk around the top give panoramic views from Bar Harbor and the Porcupine Islands all the way down to the Cranberry Islands. Dont miss the USGS summit marker. We also enjoyed the hiking. We camp at Blackwoods when we go. We took the Acadia Explorer to the north ridge trail, climbed to the summit, and took the south ridge trail back to camp. A fun day. We got some blueberries along the way.

Great thing about Casillac mountain is you can go on the top during any hours except winter.Best time to visit at sunrise, sunset, moonrise and at night time.I visited three times morning, noon and night.Looking at star and milky-way from top is lifetime experience. Must thing to do.Views from this place never gets old.Getting up there is very easy. Not risky drive at all.Plenty parking space and if its full then you can park roadside as well.Make sure to bring warm cloths if you plan to visit at night.

I had the joy of visiting here during October, which falls in the time frame that this is the first place in the United States to see the sunrise. What a beautiful view it was, seeing the gorgeous autumn colors and a beautiful sunrise coming up over the water as well!Visiting here in general I’m sure is beautiful, but coming during the fall certainly was probably the best in my opinion. Be sure to stop here if you’re traversing through Acadia!

We went here to see the sunrise n 9/15/2020. It was nice, but very crowded. We got here a little before 5 a.m., and there were lots of people here already. The odd thing to me was it got light out and the sun was still not visible. It was very cold that morning, somewhere on the 30s. You definitely should dress warmly and bring blankets if you are here in the fall to see the sunrise during the the prime foliage season.

Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, at 1,530 feet (466 meters), is the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard and the first place to view sunrise in the United States from October 7 through March 6.You can all the way via trekking or drive. During October you need to book the reservation to book the slot to go all the way up starting from 4:30 AM else you can’t go. Another hack you need to be before 4:30 so that one can drive all the way to summit parking area.

One of the best attractions at Acadia national park. We went there to see the sunrise at 6:00am. One of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. You get to see the sun rise as if from underneath the ocean making everything orange.Quick notes:1-From October 2020, the park has started a reservation system for the cars which has to be made in advance on the park website, there is no way to make the reservation on the spot.2- Download and have the map in your phone locally as the network is very bad though out the national park.3- wear cloths in layers as it’s very cold before the sunrise and it gets warmer later.

Absolutely beautiful views in all directions. Great place to have a romantic sunrise or sunset rendezvous. The really breathtaking views can be seen in the fall after some of the foliage has changed. The contrast in colors is amazing especially at sunrise & sunset. If hiking is your thing, there are a few trails you can take & some pretty steep cliff faces if you wanna rock climb. During low tide you can see the land bridge between islands & at high tide, its deep underwater. Great views of Bar Harbor & the surrounding towns. A must see view if youre in the area.

Cadillac Mountain is a part of Acadia National Park. What beautiful sights to see from the summit of Cadillac Mountain. This review is based on the visit to the summit of Cadillac Mountain. My visit here was with a tour on October 2, 2019. We were in Bar Harbor for the day sailing on the Disney Magic. With our tour, we had about 15 minutes to visit this area. The time of day was 11:30 to 11:45 am. The weather wasnt as nice this day, as it was overcast and cool, temperatures in the 50s, and windy. A cold front passed through the area earlier that morning. The weather conditions didnt stop me though. One of the nice things is that there were several signs that had information about that area of the park. Even though it wasnt a clear day, the views were still great to see at Cadillac Mountain. I was able to take in the views of Frenchmans Bay, which is where the Disney Magic was anchored for the day as well. There were some fall colors in the trees, but was a bit early for the peak season views of the fall colors.Even with the limited time we had, this was still a great place to visit. I would love to come back and stay several days, allowing to come and see the sunrises and sunsets at Cadillac Mountain, along with other areas of the park. The natural beauty of this place is breathtaking. If you come visit Acadia National Park, this place must be on your list to visit.

I dont even know how to begin to describe the beauty of this place. Its almost surreal. If you are anything like me you will absolutely fall in love with the beauty of this place. Review №53

This is one of my most favorite spots to visit in my state. If you visit the summit of Cadillac Mountain, look all around 360 degrees, no those mountains and islands all around are not another state, as far as you can see is the vastness of the state. That being said this is only a very small percentage of the vast acreage of the whole state. As far as you can see is miles of driving and the very tip of the northern part of the state is about a 5+ hour drive from this point. The southern tip about a 4+ hour drive from here. This is one of the most fascinating spots in the state that you can drive to, the other is Mt. Katahdin in the very vast and true Maine woods that you have to hike up and is not an easy climb. We spend part of each year up here for the windy cool place even on the dog days of summer in Maine. It is always a nice calming place to view the vast landscape and open oceans of Maine.Update 11/15/2020: Starting in 2021 the summit parking area will have a new parking policy using reservations. A test was conducted in the park this year and will be implemented in 2021 for certain area parking. It’s best to visit the Acadia National Park website in the coming months before your visit to see which parking areas will be using the new reservation policy. You can also get your park passes online or if your disabled vet you can get complimentary National Park pass which you can place on your dash or get a reusable pass holder for your rear view mirror. I have the plastic reusable card holder for hanging on your rear view mirror. Passes are required and should be attained online or in the Park. Parking is at a premium in the park with the amount of visitors each day. It makes sense to get your parking reservations where available for your visit. I have been to the park this season before winter and I did not see any reservations required during my visit but it was announced today on the local news that it is coming for next season.I did notice that DRONES are prohibited in the entire park now. “Leave No Trace” is mandated in the entire park also. Motorized vehicles are also prohibited throughout the park trails and carriage roads now!

We chose to drive up, it was very busy on top but there wasnt much issue with social distancing and people wore masks. The gift shop might not be worth it because only a few people are allowed in the store at a time (not a complaint, its better this way) but quite a few people were waiting. You can go to similar gift shops in a few other locations in Acadia. The drive up is nice with multiple places to pull over for pictures and the view. The views of Bar Harbor are great!

The trail offers the gorgeous, sweeping views of the archipelago surrounding the park just as promised. Though it is a very easy and completely paved trail, only the top portions closest to the parking lot are wheelchair/scooter accessible. This historic road system is open from April 15 through November, 24 hours a day, weather permitting (small portions remain open all year). It begins near the Hulls Cove Visitor Center on the north side of the island in Bar Harbor and connects the parks lakes, mountains, forests and rocky shores for easy exploration.A fee is required at Entrance and Passes can be purchased at the Visitor Center, Backwoods and Seawall Campgrounds, the Bar Harbor Village Green, and the Thompson Island Information Center. At present Private Vehicle fare is : $30 for entrance into Acadia National Park for 7 days, including date of purchase. BUT PEOPLE SAY THEY KEEP INCREASING BY 5$S every year ;) .There are ABUNDANT pull-off observation points along the LOOP Road as well as special parking areas such as at1.Cadillac Mountain FAMOUS FOR SUNRISE.At 1,530 feet (466 m), Cadillac Mountain is not only the tallest mountain in the park, but also the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. Great views of the surrounding islands , Bar harbor .The really breathtaking views can be seen in the fall .
