Great dedicated bicycle/roller skate park. Great for new to cycling or veterans who just want to put down some miles. One direction, with two lanes for slower paced and passing lanes.

Good place to speed skate. I wouldnt suggest is for flow skating or other disciplines, too much bike traffic. Folks there are serious, and will yell at you if you dare turn around to go to your car after you stop at the gazebo.

This is a great place to ride your bike. Plenty of parking in the lot and on the street. Some benches throughout so you can take a break and enjoy the area. There were some rollerbladers which is allowed but there were 3 inexperienced roller skaters. There werent a lot of cyclists out so it was nice and not over crowded. There are also 2 port of potties too.

Love this park this was my 4th time going, but today this elderly man biking went out of his way to interrupt me to tell me no skateboards are allowed. 1. I was longboarding and second there is no sign saying no skateboards. I later check the website and specifically says biking and skateboard exclusive park. I do not like to be harassed like that.

The Veloway is an absolute dream for road bikers. It’s a 3 mile loop and it feels completely isolated from the rest of the world. There are two lanes that are clearly marked so that fast traffic always has a way around and those that prefer a slower ride can do so safely.

Great biking trail with entrance right by the Wildflower Center entrance. Also - little known - that the end of the Violet Crown Trail (phase 2) is right in the cul-de-sac just past the veloway entrance. The trail goes basically goes around the veloway counter-clockwise and then exits to the north and out to the Walgreens at the SE corner of Mopac and Slaughter Lane. Best to start and Walgreens the first time because there is good signage about 100 feet south of their parking lot on the VCT.

Whether youre a kid just learning to ride or a serious, lycra - clash cyclist looking to do internvals, youll find reason to love the veloway. This is an Austin treasure that shockingly few people seem to know about. Give it a couple laps on a nice day and see if you dont have a smile at the end of the ride.

Cool three mile loop. Out there in nature with the worries of any pedestrians. It is also easy to get to a lot of off-road trails if you have a mountain bike. Great place. Has a couple sharp turns and nice little hills to get the quads burning. If you’re into cycling and love to try new place this one is definitely worth a shot!

A great way to really practice you technical skills and a endurance. You can ride half a lap ( Im guessing a little over a mile), a whole lap (3ish miles), or 60 miles. I love the scenery and I have only met great people here. I even took my kids here once. It was terrifying for me, but the had a blast and no one got ran over...

Review №76

One of the best places to cycle in Austin. Works great for beginners all the way up to advanced cyclist. Safe 3 mile loop with no traffic, no walkers, and no dogs. The lane has been recently repaved so the surface is great. There is a nice variety of terrain from flats to gradual climbs and even one tough climb that keeps things interesting, but nothing to hard to scare people away. There is also the option of a 1 mile loop that takes out the tough climb. I enjoy it for those hot days because Im always close to the car and there is a fountain at the entrance. Family friendly but not the place to teach your kid to learn to ride a bike.

It’s a great place for road bike riders to ride fast, without motor vehicle traffic. But watch out for weaving rollerbladers, and families with young children, especially on beautiful spring weekends.

For a place designed around bicycles, this park is remarkably hostile to GETTING there by bicycle. You can either go through a forest with unmarked, unpaved trails where GPS gets lost, or go 3 miles around and cross Mopac twice. This place really needs some access from the East (direction of the city).Once you get there, its great! A broad paved loop with some ups and downs, no obstacles. There are a couple benches hidden around the track for breaks.

Ro
Review №87

Great track. But alot of you need to read the rules again. Youre not supposed to ride your bikes on any part of the veloway except for the paved portion. All of you in the comments talking about riding in the wooded paths are destroying the nature that makes the veloway unique, and breaking the rules of the veloway. I will report you and call a park officer out everytime. Follow the rules or stay away!!
