Awesome Reggae club. If u want awesomeness inayabones then go hereThe best artist perform here. Mykal Rose played with Jah 9 the true Queen of Sheba, Richie Spice and many more. Excellent sound quality for about two thousand square feet is the entirety of the Cantina. Cbd friendly. Smoking in loft. These artists pack stadiums in Europe!!!!! Too Blessed to have them as guests although there shoulda been a coronation.

A smallish dark bar with cheaper drinks and an upstairs patio with another less provisioned bar. Nice place actually to hear a band. Seating around the downstairs area is helpful. Nice for sxsw venue.

The absolute Perfect Reggae vibes in all of Austin, Dreadneck Wednesdays with the house band, Mau Mau Chaplains with DJ Jah Bill, (FREE ENTRY) Jamdown Thursdays, (also FREE ENRTY)where artist can sigh up, bring their instruments and Jam out with the band! And a plethora of International Reggae Artists that have performed there, from Lee Scratch Perry, Black Uhuru, The Skatalites, Toots and the Maytals, Sizzla, Buju Banton, Capleton, Freddie McGregor, Etana, Cocoa Tea, just to name a few!!! Always Good Vibes Only!! The patio is my favorite chill spot, with a back view of the stage! Jamacian food provided by Winstons Kitchen, ( Wednesday and Special Events) I highly recommend this spot for All your Reggae needs!

Attention women: I witnessed a repeated, angry(!) verbal assault on a early 20-ish woman by a late 60-ish old man, that did not know her, while she was trying to enjoy the music and ownership could care less. It began with him trying to talk (hit on?) her while the band played. She was not into it so, without saying a word, she moved away from him. He was noticeably embarrassed (pride!) by her reaction. About a minute later, he directly sought her out, approaching her in a rage, yelling directly into her face. To defend herself, she brought her hands up to her head and turned away. It was stomach-turning to watch. I told the bartender about the issue. I thought maybe this was a homeless guy with mental issues. At first the bartender tried to dismiss what I saw. I reassured him that it was an issue that needed to be dealt with, at least for the womans sake. He understood, and went to tell the owner. Minutes later, this bartender returned to tell me the old man was a longtime friend of the owner and nothing would be done. I promptly left in disgust. What the hell? So just FYI if your a woman thinking about visiting this place alone.

Love Flamingo Cantina and Wednesdays here for the MauMau Chaplins, always free reggae that’s been going on for a while. Great music and cool environment. Always like a place that serves Red Stripe too. The patio upstairs in the back overlooks the back/side of the stage or is a nice place to chill and talk and have a smoke break. I’ve performed here as well. If I think of going anywhere with an address on “6th St” it’s here. Far away enough from “Dirty Sixth” but close enough to Red River district and some cool spots. Even can walk down 6th St if you want. It’s still close.

I asked the gentleman in the front what kind of music yall play inside? He responded Reggae. I go in, MAJOR NEGATIVE. That was not reggae. Very filty little place. There was a band that night, however that wa a not reggae that was playing. Place looked nasty, unless you are super drunk and have no where to go, then yes I recommend this place, other than that, please save your $5 if you want to go in on a Saturday night.

I have a love/hate relationship with Flamingo Cantina that always ends in true love. One of my fav local spots, the vibe is chill and mostly everyone is super friendly. My only two complaints: expensive, mediocre drinks and rats on the balcony. Why do I love them no matter what? Besides the beautiful sounds of reggae being played, this is the spot my fiancé first told me loved me after he performed on stage.

Nice music but dem the women are wack. They dance by themselves and act all snobbish... Not realizing that a place like this is meant to be a dance hall... Guys and girls dancing with each other. These fool need to go to africa or the islands to see how its done. Wack crowd
