I like seeing movies. But this place.... mmmm..no. Walk-in there’s a giant line to get “food” I ask for chicken tenders, the fryer is broken. Ok. Then I get a pizza and a soda, oh wait the soda machine is broken, what a surprise. I walk to the theater sit down and there is popcorn everywhere. Ugh. The movie ends, walk to the bathroom, it’s a MESS. Not a good experience.

I used to go here before I went to school. What happened???Absolutely mismanaged. It’s a dump. There is trash on the floors in the lobby and popcorn is EVERYWHERE. Trash bins are over flowing in the hallways and in the bathrooms. Staff remained idle and no one bothered to do what needed to be done. I’ll speculate this theatre is closed within 2 years.Only plus was that the theatre was nearly empty.

Nice IMAX theatre located in South Austin and is well accessible via 183 & I-35. The mall area has wide parking space and is secure at all times.Tickets can be booked at front kiosk if arriving late.#HappyCinema

Gotta agree with the comment below. The A/C was broken Friday and it’s still broken today (Monday). Why? It’s not just one theater, it’s throughout the whole cinema. Be better AMC; can’t blame this on anyone or anything but yourself.

The atmosphere,inside a cool mall.plus i met Emilio Estevez outside of that theater and talked a bit.

Very poor experience. The AC was broken in the entire theater so we were sweating during the whole movie. The guide lights were flickering extremely bright for half the movie so I could not focus my attention anywhere besides that. The sound system was bad enough to where I could pick up about half the words the movie said. Will not be returning.

Ive been to other AMC theaters and this one is at the bottom of the list.. You walk in and have to say hello to the staff because they dont, they dont offer assistance even though you look lost, and on top of that they sell expired candy from July.

First time out to see Movie all was good

This theater has only improved over the years. Now with reserve seating and electric reclining chairs, it is one of the most comfortable theaters in town! I also really like this new “Artisan Film” label they are using to market the critically acclaimed films they are showing. Seems like they’re bringing in more independent films under this new label as well.My only criticism is their popcorn. It’s still the super salty and fake butter type popcorn. Wish they would have an option of organic popcorn made with good oil, sprinkled with sea salt and real butter, like you find in many of these new boutique theaters. I know the profit margins may not be as great, but just offer smaller bags instead of those huge tubs and charge the same.Keep it up, I’m really digging the improvements!

Im a discount Tuesday night regular. Love this place. Its one of my favorite things to do during the week. I like the mall its in and the staff is always friendly.

Some recliners dont work. I faced this issue in multiple auditoriums. They need to work on the cleanliness as well.The only thing that works for them is they always have the widest selection of movies among the AMCs in the city. Others have limited number of movies.

Would give negative stars if able. We literally just ate across from theater at cheesecake factory and had leftovers in a separate closed container in a closed bag. We just ate Im obviously not going to eat in the theater I had to throw it away to be able to go I to theater. We had already bought our tickets or I would have just left. NEVER GOING HERE OR ANY OTHER AMC AGAIN. There is absolutely no common sense.

This theater is owned by AMC which thinks Theaters should have an arbitrary monopoly on how consumers view newly released movies.Why should I have to pay a middle man to watch a movie I could much easier just watch at home on my own home theater system?

Ive been in 2 times in the past week and neither experience were something to write home about. The first visit we were directed to the wrong theater. Twice. There is no signage outside for the individual theaters to indicate the movies being shown. So we had to ask employees who didnt seem to know (not the employees fault really, there are too many movies being shown for anyone to have them memorized). But we did make it into the right theater eventually so Im glad we got there earlier.The second visit was worse. The popcorn was really stale and there was only one employee behind the counter (not an employee problem, poor management and scheduling) Its obvious that theyve updated some of the seating in the smaller theaters, but the IMAX theater still has old, small, damaged, and uncomfortable seats. The side sconces with the dimming feature were apparently not working as the overhead lights were on and then turned off, plunging the theater into darkness while people were still finding their seats. To top off the trip the movie had to be restarted. Because the 3D version was what initially started playing rather than the 2D version slotted in.Needless to say my family and I wont be coming back any time soon. I do want to note that none of the problems we experienced were in anyway due to failures of any individual employees. The issues were more systemic than that and not necessarily due to the holiday rush either.

Long lines and not enough employees at the concessions. I showed up 20 minutes early...by the time I got my popcorn and water the movie had already started. You can reserve your seat online and the recliners are nice.

I liked the fact that there were hot food options other than normal movie snacks. However, Service treated me like I was supposed to know where to pick up my hot food. How am I supposed to know if there was no verbal communication provided by the concession and visual support was lacking in visual support. They also need to do quality control on their movie seats. Recliner was working in full recline, just I was tilted to the right the entire time.

Great seats, good films, nice atmosphere. I come here 2-3 times a month and always have a great experience. Im a big fan of this location and AMC in general, with the unlimited film plan.

Awesome movie theater great service and experience all around with the exception of the prices. I got a total of four beers and it cost me 52 bucks... which wouldnt be that bad if, the beer had been previously drank and by, and came with, Marilyn Monroe. Thank goodness for the plastic souvenir cups or I might have felt ripped off.

Customer service doesnt exist at this theatre or with the AMC Theatre corporation. General Manager refuses to take two vouchers that I have. Even though they dont expire, I have to request the vouchers to be reissued and mailed to me. What ever happened to the concept of taking care of the customer? Seems this could have been easily resolved on the spot by providing me with what I am owed. We will be taking our $40 in concessions spend today and in the future to another Theatre.. Its clear they really dont care- and that should say something.

Was nice to see a movie again.

The theater itself was very nice, clean, and the service was great. However the outside was under construction and the lobby was a little messy. Nonetheless the staff of friendly, and their Dolby seating is super comfy.

Not the first time Ive gone to this dump to see a movie and had an issue. Get there today and movie canceled. Last time the seats were not working, so made watching uncomfortable. Sell it.

Love the big reclining seats that all the theaters offer. If you can definitely try the Dolby theater for a better viewing and sound experience.

Great movie... We saw the new Grudge movie. Only thing is the prices are OUTRAGEOUS!! I paid $30 for only 4 drinks! Almost as much as the $40 for out movie tickets...

Very comfortable seats! I love the Dolby Cinema and the ability to bring a drink from the bar to my seat.

Needs to be better cleaned and updated. Especially the bathrooms. Only watch movies in Dolby Cinema and is amazon. Looks and sounds pristine.

This place is nothing to write home about and the concessions are subpar for what they charge. That being said, their Dolby Vision theatre is mind blowing. Any movie where stuff blows up must be seen there.

The theater is good. The help behind the concession counter needs some training. Slow and no sense of urgency, irritated the people in line. And perhaps more than one person to help out would be good.

The best thing about this place is they serve alcohol and food not just snacks but you have the option to eat in them all prior to going into the movies and the small also has a bar. Talk about 2 birds with one stone!

I feel like every time I go to this theatre they always forget to turn off the lights for the movie and the better previews. Cant tell you how many times this has happened. So annoying having to go get a staff to tell someone to turn it off.

The people were super nice, an awesome experience, but they need to fix the seating arrangement. My family bought some seating tickets just like the other people, (same seats?), Besides that, it was an amazing time, definitely coming back. (By the way this is the new AMC by I-35 next to HEB, and Bank of America)

Obviously Ive been to lots of AMC theaters and this was on the worse side of them. I still gave 3 stars because it was a holiday so they still were in full operation and thats no easy task right now so maybe it is usually better?

The movie showing was good. But entering the place for how much we paid Id expect the place to look cleaner. We went to a 10pm showing and the place looked and felt dirty everywhere. Entrance, counters, hallways.Also the popcorn we bought was old ofcourse because it was the leftover popcorn from prob earlier time. When I saw that there was no popcorn left but the bottom I knew it wasnt going to taste fresh. It tasted stale and it was cold. The trash cans were full everywhere. It just felt dirty. You can tell management leaves early and everyone just slacks off waits to clean till they close the theater. Or management should be more on top of the cleaningness. Bad representation especially for the amount of money is charged. I dont think Ill be going back to this theater.

Has to be the worst theater I have been to. First no one working the front except the ticket taker. Snack bar could make food because fried was broken. Tickets and snacks super expensive for quality. Website listed recliner seating but IMAX theater had broken down old stadium seating super uncomfortable compared to newer theaters that are same price. Then the previews started and they played the same ones 2 times...

Great place to go and watch a movie, especially if youre an A-List member. Hot popcorn, all kinds of drinks (even alcohol). This is my regular place to go Plus, can go shopping before or after the movie lol

This is the theatre I go to for a really cinematic experience.It costs a good bit, but I tend to go for the Dolby. It just looks and sounds great, no joke. Plus the place seems pretty clean, easy to get here and find your theatre...no complaints! Try Dolby sometime

I cannot even begin to explain how frustrated we are. We tried to get into Alamo, but since they were full, we decided to try here since they also still provide food and drinks - per their website and even their in-theater ads. They were not only out of all fried foods which is 90% of their snacks leaving us barely any options more than a regular theater. Then, their bar is completely closed because theyre so understaffed that they have NO bartender on staff or even a manager who can simply open a bottled beer. Terrible job running your theater and we will not return.

Theater 1 is a dump. 20-30 year old seats, lights are either full on or fully off. Pricey popcorn from the lobby is stale (HOW does that happen?)....and the 2D movie, oops...was started in the 3D version. Id much rather watch at home!

Update: Its been remodeled and everything is much nicer and ticket sales happen faster too. Its a good cinema, nothing too great but nothing bad either. Now has leather reclining seats with less capacity but more space per person. If you want to see iMax then I reccomended the Bullock Theater over this since this one is quite small in comparison.2014 Review: This is your average good AMC Theater. It only shows blockbusters which could be a plus or minus for some. I visit this theater whenever Alamo Drafthouse doesnt have the movie I want to see. The food is okay but the popcorn is good. Sometimes there can be kids that are crying or just being annoying throughout the movie and might disturb so thats something you should go in prepared for (depending on the movie your are watching).

Theatre was nice and neat with a bar area. It would of been better if my seat in theatre 6. Seat G11 actually worked. But overall good experience.

Went here for Star Wars movie and waited in line to get tickets I already bought for 20 minutes only one person there doing this. Meanwhile seats filling up and movie almost starting. Get your tickets with seats assigned BEFORE coming there. Also no signs to let you know where your movie is

The theater was the cleanest one I think I have ever been in..

Its a theater complex at the mall. Promises what you would expect and probably bit more. Tons of concession options, a bar, and high quality digital and IMAX projection and Sony sound. My got to theater for blockbusters.

Great theater but sometimes too loud, especially during previews. I dont know if this is an AMC thing or just this location. The people are super friendly there and the theaters are always clean and comfortable.

Only issue was getting the barcode scanner to work on the kiosk with my phone. The way it is angled makes it finicky. Otherwise a good experience.

The theaters themselves are excellent. Comfortable, great sound and picture quality. And the concessions are great even if a little pricey. My only real issue is the restrooms. Please clean and repair!

Garbage prices.. $30 for 2 movie tickets? Extremely bright neon green exit sign was literally right next to the movie screen and was pretty annoying. The seats were nice but they were spaced so far apart I could have sat in the 2nd row and had a much better viewing experience. This should have been reflected on their self service ticket purchasing software which made it look like the 5th row was so much closer. Just go to Alamo Drafthouse where you will have a much better overall experience for half the price

Theatre was disappointing to say the least. Good was unavailable for the most part and the things they had took twenty minutes to get. Customer service was non-existent as was any management presence. Theatre hasnt been updated and for IMAX prices you get old unreclining small uncomfortable seats that need to be updated. This theatre was not built as an IMAX, it is a poor conversion job. Should have realized something was wrong when most other theatres were sold out and this one had tons of open seats available.

Seats are very comfortable in the Dolby theater. Sound is fantastic.

I have alist so I see a lot of movies at this theater. People are always talking loudly, on their phones, being disruptive to the movie. Ive had to go find managers before because asking loud patrons politely to stop talking wont work. Most times they do nothing, sometimes they come into the theater and look around pretending to do their job then leave. Unacceptable to let certain customers ruin the experience for others.I had a seat that didnt recline once and when I brought it up they couldnt even bother an apology or anything to make up for it, just the worst unhelpful attitude. The projectors are inconsistent, some have too quiet sound, some too loud. Imax theater is so uncomfortable, hard to find your seat, poor quality projector. Dolby is good here though. Just recently their projector in regular theater just didnt work and they canceled the movie 15 minutes in. Theyre one of the worst run amc theaters Ive been to. Unfortunately its the closest one to me.

Movie was great, the facility was underwhelming. They only have 1 person working the concession stand so make sure you show up at least 20 minutes early so you can get in line and wait forever to get your popcorn and soda. Bathroom was gross. No reclining seats in the IMAX theater. I expected better or maybe Alamo Drafthouse has me spoiled.

I don’t go to the movies that often, but when I do, it will be at this one. I definitely is a longer drive for me to get here, but it’s worth it. It’s never too crowded here, and the reserved seating works well. The chairs are comfy and recline. I really don’t have anything huge to complain about. Food and drink is overpriced as usual.

I’ve always had a really great experience at this theater, especially when they finally updated on the recliner seats. Unfortunately there is one thing I can’t look past, which is (to me) a big deal. I had the opportunity to take my grandmother to the theater who is wheel chair bound. The bathrooms in this theater (neat theater 6) specifically the stalls in the women’s restroom marked for the “handicapped” are NOT wheel chair friendly - to be frank the bathrooms are not wheel chair friendly in general. It’s a very narrow corridor with a row of stalls side by side. Those marked with the handicapped sign seem no bigger than those not marked with one. If you are wheelchair bound, or travel with someone who is expect a major fuss when it comes to the restrooms. The stalls are too small for wheelchairs so the person in the wheel chair HAS to get up out of the wheel chair to even enter the stall. Not a big deal considering they would do that normally, except for the fact that they now leave their wheel chair just sitting outside the stall while they use the restroom and have to fuss with the door while going in and out the stall back into the chair - i was worried the whole time my grandmother would slip while she tried to transition herself. Next was the bathroom itself was SO cramped, there was barely enough space for people to get by because she couldn’t take the wheel chair into the stall with her. I’m not talking about an electric wheel chair either, so this thing wasn’t bulky. Lastly the sinks were too high. I had to hold her up in order for her to wash her hands at the sink because she couldn’t do it while sitting in her chair, again another hazard. Maybe there is a better equipped bathroom in this theater for handicapped, but i did not see one, and if there was, they shouldn’t have marked the stalls in this bathroom handicapped friendly. I never had to go through an experience like that while traveling with my grandmother, even in small restaurants their bathrooms are better than that. I’m surprised a giant chain theater had such poor accommodations and in the bathroom none the less. You’d think those things would be regulated...

The theater was not clean—and we went at 12PM the bathrooms gross. Was very disappointed they haven’t updated all their seats to recline especially in the IMAX theater. I was also very disappointed in the IMAX theater screen. Don’t waste the extra money to visit this theater for IMAX it will leave your disappointed. We had to ask the manager to turn down the volume because it was painfully too loud and my husband likes it loud too. Also we ordered drinks and the bartender was not there so another employee made the drink it was terrible and also illegal to make drinks for someone if you aren’t a certified bartender.

The chairs were really comfortable when I was there, thats like the main reason why this gets 5 stars. audio and picture is good too, would suggest this movie theatre if you were to see it with family or with friends because its a really chill theatre

The place is filthy. Every time I come, the place is trashed. All the garbage cans are always full, to the point where trash piles on the floor. The bathroom floors are sticky with stains under each urinal. There is always trash all over the floors. It honestly looks like the bathroom hasnt been cleaned in a week, the floor hasnt been vacuumed in a week, and the trash cans havent been emptied all day.

Convenient to food & shopping.Food & lots of drink & snack options in the theater as well.

My favorite theatre to come to. I enjoy the renovated rooms with the reclining couch chairs. Very relaxing and enjoyable. They also have reserved seating that you can do ahead of time online! Their rewards program is so worth it!! Great service and they always have a good selection of movies. Ill continue to be back!

Concessions closed at 9:15pm. They had movies start after that, doesnt really make sense. Also, pretty dirty. Screens/sound were both great though. Will definitely choose Alamo when its possible.

The sounds rumbles from the seats. The seats electronically angle back and have footrests, very comfortable. The mix drinks from the bar also very good.

Nice seating and spacious. 1 star off for a place that has a bar it didnt open till after 4pm which sucks if youre there at 2pm.

This is my favorite theater. Not only is the A list membership well worth the money and saves me a ton when I wanna see movies, not to mention you earn points towards rewards for future free stuff which is always great.Then theres the bar! Thankfully they offer at least 1 cider, I wish it were the Austin Eastcider but the Apple Orchard they offer is still good. You can also get points on alcohol purchases which is nice.

AMC will always be my go-to movie theatre! I will always make a commute to go to AMC. I live in Kyle, so its about a 40 minute drive for me to get to this AMC but its so worth it because of AMC stubs rewards, the amazing Dolby surround sound theatre and the IMAX screen. Love it!!

Went to go watch US, it was a really good movie. Although i must say if youre kinda sliw you may not get the movie. The theater was nice and clean and filled to the max.

Everything about the whole experience was amazing. The soda dispenser with 3 million and 5 choices. The self checkout where you can pick your own seats. The friendly folks. Everything was perfect, except for one of the most important things: the seats!! They were small and sloped downward, which meant gravity caused you to hunch over. My husband, who was sitting next to me, agreed. Replace the seats, AMC! Other than that, dont change a thing!!

This is a nice movie place for family outings.Very nice and clean and their popcorn is fresh all the time.

Located inside the mall loop. Rather large theater. We saw Star Wars in IMAX. Excellent viewing from almost any angle. Friendly staff. Elevator to back of theater for ADA seating.

Went to see Venom in the Imax theater and before the movie, I was looking around and just blown away how dirty and run down the inside is. The walls are filthy and coated in dust. You cant miss it with the light hitting the clumps of dust. Also, not to mention the gaping holes in the ceiling and water marks. If they care this little about the cleaniless of the theater, cant help but think about the popcorn, drinks and everything else we are eating. Id rather make the drive down to San Antonio and go to the Palladium Imax than this one

Wonderful. Everyone was extremely friendly and made you feel at home. This is one of the better cinemas I been too. I highly recommend people come to this one if you ever stay in Austin.

I hadnt been to the mall theatre in a while. This visit landed me in what I think was their top of the line theatre room, outfitted with the Dolby Cinema screen that was great. The picture was incredible, sound was really good, and though I wish the recliner footrests would have extended all the way up, the rumble seats were a fun touch. The place was clean and the concessions, while nothing special, were exactly what to expect. But the real sell was that screen and sound combo. It was noticeably better than the standard digital screens.

It would be nice if they told you the AC was out before you bought your tickets...

The Dolby Surround was very impressive. The action scenes caused the seat to shake. It wasnt a mechanical shake but a feeling like a bass was inside the seat. Very impressive.

The seats are very awesome, and the theater is always clean. Havent had a bad experience here ever.

Decent theater with all the usual amenities. Theres also a full bar for adult beverages. The thing that ruined it for me were the reclining seats. Why would they spend what must have been thousands of dollars on motorized reclining seats that are completely uncomfortable? These are the worst reclining seats I have ever sat in. The upholstery is nice, and they look good, but they pretty much suck in every other respect. They do not extend far enough at the feet, and do not recline enough at the head. Im not an overly large guy (62,195lbs) and they just hurt my neck and left my feet dangling. I would actually rather sit in standard movie theater seats than these. On top of all that, the controls are useless in a dark theater. Theres nothing tactile to let you know where to touch on the control screen, which is dark until you happen to inevitably find the wrong button. It should be simple - one button for recline, the other for the reverse.They could learn a thing or two from the Moviehouse & Eatery, which is pretty much the gold standard, leaving this place a pale imitation.

Advertise food and alcohol, but grill and bar were both closed down. We waited 20 min to get popcorn because they were out. They wouldnt let me buy a soda halfway thru the movie, because concession stand closes at 9:15pm...15min after the movie started.

Understaffed and borderline ghetto considering its in a nice mall.

I have to say that I havent been to this theater in years and I was pleasantly surprised that they have updated with modern furnishing. The seats are really nice.

Todd was extremely friendly and helpful. I am legally blind, and he made it quick and easy to get the audio description setup and working. I will definately return for my next movie experience!

Great theater located at a very convenient location inside a mall. Lots of places to hangout and eat in the enclosing mall. The IMAX theater is quite good even if its not the real IMAX screen. It has great sound and picture quality. The place has nice and friendly staff and the theater is clean and well managed. The location being in the mall gives an opportunity to dine and shop along with catching your favorite movie. All in one place. Definitely recommended.

Seen the movie Aliya. Picture was clear sound clear and comfortable reclining seats. Had a sit in bar and clean bathrooms. The bar tender even let us charge our phones while we sat. Air is slightly cold . It is located in a big mall . Was definitely worth visiting while being here for a minute in Austin.

Typical AMC with the exception of many chairs in our theatre not reclining. One customer called the staff to fix her chair but they were unable to even after they called their supervisor. They relocated that family to open chairs in the theatre. Mine and my wifes chair also did not work but after seeing this situation decided it wasnt an issue for us. Weve been members for a while now and see multiple movies a week and have visited many different theatre locations in different states and this location was not very good, but we love AMC.

The seats are extremely comfortable and the price is very low if you go in the early sessions. I will return very regularly.

We love to watch movies and this theatre is super close. It’s connected to the mall which is really nice if you decide kind of last minute you want to go see something. It’s also right next to a Cheesecake Factory so you can totally make this into a full date night. I have never had any issues getting tickets, at the concession stands, or getting drinks by the bar. They have a separate line if you’re a premier member and they definitely adhere to that as well.
