Making a review after my second experience playing Falconhead. New resident to the Austin area golf scene, I was told by many to check out the 3 course affiliation. Falconhead is the superior golf course of Avery Ranch, TeraVista and Falconhead. Great vistas and hole layouts. Pace of play was great. Staff was easy mans welcoming, sent us on our way. It had rained a in the days prior to this round and we were CPO. Didn’t mind at all. Course has been in premium condition for a public track during hot w and early fall season. Bev cart visits were just enough, two sighting per nine. Great stretch of holes on front and back. 2-6 are fun and demand different tee shots. A few blind tee shots on the back and great views of Bee Cave.

A few of my buddies played during yesterday during the “lock down, stay at home order”. Unlike many other course, they didn’t have tee boxes or pins which made no sense to me. It was my first time there and it’s a very nice and at times a challenging and tight course. The conditions were better than I expected, but we’ve had a good amount of water. It seemed to play slower than normal, but that could just be me. Great layout and I will definitely go back!

Great course, terrible management. They sent us the rates with what was included, paid, and started off the day great. We then had a “manager” approach us on the 8th hole and tell us they messed up and we needed to pay them more money. Get your act together and don’t disrupt our round. Especially demanding more money after all 13 golfers paid.

Paid $80 on a Monday to get stuck behind a group of drunk 20 somethings. Round should have been 4hr or less, but took 5hrs.Course was in good shape, but wont go back if they dont have marshals.

Beautiful golf course design. The groundskeepers need a raise, this place was immaculate. Best I’ve seen as far as clean and well kept grounds. Loved playing this course, will definitely be back to play again. They have 5 different tees to hit from. Black, gold, blue, red, and white. Black was well over 7,000 yards total. We played from the blues, which was about 6,800 yards if I remember correctly.

Fantastic course! Had a blast. Challenging in spots and super user friendly in others. Great for the seasoned weekly player or for an anxious outa towner. Get here! Great golf!

Today I had a great golfing experience. The weather was great the exercise was wonderful and the company was fantastic.

The course is nice. It is challenging and pretty well cared for. I pay for the monthly membership but the course is public and anyone can play it. Pace of play is abhorrent. Today I finished right at 5 hours after my tee time. That is brutal! Run fewer people through the course or enforce the pace of play.

Terrible management here. Great course and beautiful views but staff is a nightmare. I was made to feel like I was imposing on staff during check-in and getting drinks at the bar. Starter was very rude and wanted to charge me extra $ because a walk-on joined last minute and neither of us wanted to share a cart during the COVID outbreak. Starter was definitely on a power trip. There were no precautions made for COVID, masks were required indoors by guests but I didnt see a single staff member wear a mask. Play was super slow because they had groups going every 5 minutes and we ended up waiting 5+ minutes on every tee because groups were so smashed together. Ended up having to end my round early because it was taking too long. Didnt get my moneys worth. Shame that such a beautiful course is under such terrible management. Not interested in ever going back unless major staff changes are made.

Great track. My friend and I drove 4 hours from Houston area to experience the “rolling hill of Austin course” and this did not disappoint. Staff was friendly and course was challenging. We did end up dropping some $$$ but memories were worth it. Highly recommend this great track.

Great course, beautiful views but terrible GM. He had a attitude when he was checking me in. Actually skipped me to check someone else in. I was told the night before by staff my wife could ride for free. When I asked about I the next morning he called me a liar. Super slow play and rude staff. I will never be back and don’t recommend.

The owner of this course and management provide horrible customer service and dont care about the safety of the golfers. Making golfers ride in a cart with people you dont know during a global pandemic. Clearly putting profits over health of people. I will never spend another dollar at this course or any other course owned by Magnolia Golf.

Played Golf last night and left my rangefinder attached to the golf cart (via magnet). First time this has happened, but was prepared with my name and address on the rangefinder. Call this morning to hear that it is no where to be found, but they will get in touch with the crew who worked last night to ask them if they saw it. Was told to call back this afternoon. Call back and no one knows what I am talking about, dont even try to look. Definitely was stolen.

Management is horrible, GM is incompetent, teaching staff is a joke. Nice course but no wonder pace is slow and the course is always roughed up because they have tee times every five minutes. Yes every five minutes. Use to be run good, now it’s all about numbers

I set a tee time and I paid in advance for both golfers. My friend called and was sick and couldn’t make it. I asked to change the tee time for the same day and was lectured that I’d still have to pay for the spot I missed. I didn’t have a problem. I understood and said so. Only to have the GM mike yell some more about having to pay at. And hung up. I called back to ask why hang up. I never asked for refund And said they will not see me again. They then charged me for two golfers for the tee time I was trying to get. That’s two tee time charged on the same day for 2 golfers. I’ve golfed there several times over the years. I live in Lakeway and take my friends there when it’s my turn to golf my home course. I was so upset to be treated so poorly. I get it if I raised my voice. I even asked why so rude? He said that’s just how it is. Wow. Never been treated so agressivly while setting a tee time. Charged me twice in one day!! Never playing there and definitely recommending people play somewhere else if asked.

A fun, fair course with beautiful looks around the property. Great staff made for an enjoyable day. Its an irons only range but still perfect for a warm up.

Great course! This course was tough, but fair. You better hit it straight off the tee. Fairways and greens were awesome! We had guys golf trip there this weekend and would go back any time. Highly recommend this place.

Beautiful day and fast greens. But fairways are firm and my drives rolled alot farther. Made me feel like I had gotten better.

Price was right and course conditions were solid. Greens were very slow, so I don’t know what that was about, but I was able to adjust pretty quickly. Only complaint was there was no bev cart on a day where it is 95 degrees. Fortunately there was water every 4 holes or so to fill up a bottle with, but it seemed odd for there to not be a cart going around.

Oh hey, i forgot about this place for 2 years and came back to review it.one of the nicest places around, courses themselves are enough to be 5 starbar with equipment, magazines, and food too.

Ok course. Very hilly. Lots of uphill holes that play really long. Kinda of a far drive to get to. Traffic can be an issue. Prices are on the high side. Played it twice. Probably not going back.

Well maintained course. Had a lot of fun playing here for the first time. Make a tee time a week in advance for a discount. Will be back.

Went to a holiday party there recently but it was more if a backyard hamburger fest than a party. If I was a member, I would want better entertainment.

Zero cart service on a busy day. Doesnt make sense. Greens are rolling great!

Course was nice, service was poor. $80 on a weekday is pretty expensive. Buy thru the GN app and save yourself $30. Very surprised the walk up price was $80 while the app price was $50 after fees. Didnt realize that until after we played a few holes and they wouldnt refund any portion of the fee. Waited at least 20 minutes at the turn for food and drinks. If you dont staff your bar/grill you at least need to provide a means for people to order at hole 8. Play was slow for a Monday midday but overall is a fun course to play. Fast greens and all around well taken care of, maybe a little on the west side.

Finally got to play Falcon Head this past weekend. The weather was very bad Sunday, but the tourney kept going. The course is much more challenging than most ATX courses and was fun to play. Has a good mix of making you choose shot selections and think about how to approach the holes. Greens were in great shape overall. I will def be making the trip here again!

I have played golf at Falconhead since 2008. I now have a Bronze Membership at Falconhead due to the new managements initial bungling of the member transition last fall.Recently, I received at least 3 e-mails wanting me to sign up for the The Match Play Tournament. The deadline is today, June 9th. I went to the Course to sign up but was informed that I had to be a full Member to participate. If this new wrinkle was in the fine print of the e-mails, so be it. I didnt notice it. Its a good thing that I have other options.

Golfed Falconhead today for the first time. What a fantastic course. They punched the greens recently but made sure everyone knew that. They even gave a discount because of that. No one does that. A proper move by a proper golf course. The fairways were the best I’ve played in a long time. Staff and members are super friendly. Well worth the price. Will definitely be back.

Loved this course! Fairways were super good and so were the greens. The course is challenging which makes it all the more fun. The marshals did a great job keeping the game moving. Lamar was extremely polite and encouraging. Thank you for a great day of golf! Must play!

Saw no falcons

Awesome layout with great customer service from the clubhouse personal, snack bar, the greens keeper, starter, & marshall. Try the breakfast tacos, they were so huge and tasty. You must play here if your in the area, I dont think youll be disappointed. The weekend green fee was around $80ish which I found of value for the course/green conditions, & layout. Give them a try.

This place is really really nice. I actually went as part of a company that was working food for a charity event they were having, so I didnt get to golf, but what I saw I really liked. The workers were all really nice and the whole facilities were very well kept. The gold carts were all in nice order and every single minute of my day there was a pleasure. I wish I could be more helpful about the golf course and any other information you need but I cant and Im sorry. I imagine based off of how friendly and happy everyone was though, that they wouldnt mind answering questions if you called and asked.

This is a very fine course. Like a private course in its amenities. The staff on the course are all super friendly and make you feel welcome. It is so well maintained you will swear you are on a private course. The layout is very interesting and challenging in a fair way. Great course!

Previously a private course, now a semi-private public course. Have been there twice now and never felt very welcome as a non-member. Marshal was a bit over the top the first time I played there. Second time they double charged me for a round and then didn’t even play due to weather. Waited out the morning to get to 38 degrees and they essentially forgot about us until about noon at which point the chance to play elsewhere had passed. Beautiful course though.

Course is beautiful and a wonderful design. However we had a small wedding party group out to play the day of my friends wedding. The starter told us as we were checking in to tee off all groups “are a disaster” when they’re bachelor parties and told us that they’ll send groups through us if we don’t play at a good pace. Meanwhile, the group in front of us was a 5some, which on their website clearly states no 5somes allowed at any times. We waited to hit our next shot every single shot for the whole round. We spoke to the Marshall on 18 and explained how we were disappointed how we were told we needed to maintain pace yet they allowed a 5some on a busy day on the course despite what the website stated. After we drove away to hit our approach shots into 18, the Marshall bad mouthed our group to the 2nd group in our party saying “the group in front of you think they’re long hitters and are slowing you down. Sorry for that.” Loved the course and layout, but the staff was a huge disappointment.

GREAT course! GREAT staff! played 18 off the paths & I am looking forward to a return to play again, the course is challenging, but hit the fairways & you can be rewarded, if you like FAST greens you will be in for some fun. At the turn, I had time for lunch, great menu selections & the food was fresh! All the staff I encountered was awesome, they all had a few minutes to stop & visit. I highly recommend this course! THANKS Falconhead for an awesome 1 day trip to Austin.

Great course very scenic and challenging. Cart only. Make sure you do not forget your clubs. $75.00 for rental clubs. They were not even clean or matching. Probably the most expensive around Austin.

Falconhead had the most incredible fairways and greens. This place is well maintained and the staff was very nice. I didnt think it was a difficult course but really beautiful and well kept. We will definitely go back soon.

The course was in great shape but a bit difficult for players that are below average like me.

This is a beautiful course from start to finish. Greens were true and the fairways had just enough elevation change to keep it challenging but not defeating. Cant wait to go back. Great staff and good food at the club house. Winner.

The staff was friendly and the course was in good shape. For the money, I thought it was a value.

Still great condition but disappointing they were allowing fivesomes off in the early afternoon (2pm) when the course was packed. Started at 2:40 when tee time was 2:20, finished at 8:10.

A better golf course than one might imagine. Worth the green fee. You will use every club in your bag. Dont skip the practice putting green-an excellent warm up for the course.

Lovely place to play a round. Generally a fairly open course with plenty of wide fairways with get out options for stray tee shots. The signature par three is an amazing hole and nothing like Ive seen before. Course condition was generally pretty good.

Im not a good golfer, but i really enjoy playing (trying). that being said, this course has a great blend of really fun holes and really challenging ones. everything was in great condition when i played. the staff was very friendly, and the beer cart came around often. would play again!

Falconhead was in beautiful condition today. I continue to believe $95 is too much for the track, but today it was close.The back nine is more interesting than the front, and probably plays 2-3 strokes easier.

Played this morning and absolutely loved the course!!! Fairways and greens were some of the finest Ive played on for this price, and the layout in the hill country offered some very beautiful scenery.. I would recommend this course to anyone.

3 of us paid full price for punches unhealed greens. I drove from Dallas for a mini vacation and my 2 buddies from San Angelo agreed to meet at this course. I called three days ago and was told by Lauren/Laura the greens were punched but rolling great and almost all healed. Very deceptive sales practice in my opinion. Will never recommend this course to anyone....

Nice enough course. Fairways were cut a bit short for my liking, and the greens were inconsistent. Or was it just my game... Overall, a nice place to golf. Staff was friendly as well.

Hole 8 is a beautiful ball stealer. Lovely day on this PGA qualifying course.

Love this course.. elevations, some risk/ reward holes. But you didnt want to be in the wrong side of the green you will pay for it.. staff was great!

Best job I ever had! Good food! Great employees during the time I worked there. Amazing members! But it has started to change since they just got new owners. Not the same anymore. :(Just the other day, someoe Stole my husbands ZEEP tracker. He has been a member for YEARS AND NEVER HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN BEFORE TO ANYONE. plus, the new management is growing out the rough. Its No Bueno! The downfall of this place is starting. Sorry guys!

Loved it. Great course, the elevation changes were a nice change. Service was excellent. If you are in the area I would highly recommend this course.

This is my favorite golf course in Austin. The staff is friendly and professional and the course is always in great shape. The views of the hill country are nice and there are quite a few elevation changes as well. You will not find finer greens to putt on in Austin. Rounds are always completed in 4 hours or less. Overall you wont find a better golf value in town.

Beautiful course, challenging, no tricks or hidden hazards. Staff was not overly friendly, but certainly not a problem; and since I spend 5 minutes checking in and 4 hours playing, I give little weight to that aspect. The greens were a little slow the day I played, but the layout and views are great and I really enjoyed the course (in spite of not playing well). I live in Round Rock, so too long a drive to play often, but it was certainly worth the drive.

Amazing place to play golf. Greens and fairways meticulously maintained. Friendly and accommodating staff. Try to avoid playing on days when games are scheduled at the nearby football stadium. The noise from the stadium can be heard everywhere on the course and can be distracting.

Great public course with a wide open layout. Slightly expensive. With a nice hanging green on the 8th hole. Marshals patrol the course to keep an eye and if necessary, step up the pace. Am a fan.

Great course with several challenging holes. Overall condition is great. The only downside is the mediocre bunker conditioning, but you shouldnt be in them anyway!

Havent been to too many courses here in Austin, but I can feel confident in recommending this one. The greens were well kept, the course was well thought out, and the bev girl came along almost often enough!
