Phenomenal store and staff. Excellent fitting and knowledge. This establishment has been helping me for years and years. They sell me new clubs, used clubs, training aids and all associated gear and they always took my older trade in clubs. I have been involved with the game and industry for three decades and cannot imagine a better business to get honest assistance and great gear. Thank you John and staff. My two girls are now big enough to enjoy this game and we will see you real soon for junior equipment

I placed an order for a Ping cart bag on July 10, and The Golf Club immediately charged my credit card, even though they knew they didnt have the bag in stock and had no idea when Ping would ship it. After several days had gone by and the bag hadnt shipped I asked them not to charge my card until the bag shipped, but they ignored my request. By July 24 the bag still hadnt shipped so I cancelled the order. A credit was promised and supposedly issued but as of today, July 28, it hasnt hit my credit card. In the interim, the charge is on my current credit card bill so Im stuck paying for the bag. Hopefully the credit will show up by the time I get the next bill.

Ordered online from them on June 3...its June 24 and I still have not heard a thing from them aside from them charging my credit card when I made the purchase. I have reached out by phone and their online chat. Nothing. If I do not hear from them by tomorrow, I am going to assume this is a scam and request my money back from the bank. How do you sleep at night knowing you are messing with a persons enjoyment of golf? Should be highly punishable.Update: Going from 1 star to 2 stars. About 8 hours after this post I received an automated update that my bag had shipped. I am glad it had shipped but still frustrated it took this long and this post for it to happen. I will keep this updated if what I ordered shows up.

Purchased golf bag 3 weeks ago. still hasnt shipped, none of my emails have been responded to and cant get through to their phone numbers. plenty of other online outlets to buy from dont waste your time or money.

I ordered a single iron and DID receive an email that it may take 7-10 business days to manufacture the club. However, I received the iron over a month later, but by then I had traded in my irons and no longer needed the single 6 iron. Now, Im not getting return messages as to an RA return authorization. I have sent two emails, called and got an automated phone message with no prompt for returns.---only purchases. The iron sits in the original box and Im just going to return it and expect a return on my $ or store credit if I dont hear back from them soon. Ill try one more time.

Id give zero stars if possible. Phone calls unanswered, multiple times. But AMEX cleared in moments from placing order for $130. No email confirmation, call, etc. HIGHLY UNLIKELY to purchase again. They can become AMEX problem, about to turn them loose. Sad.

I ordered a Ping SW back on 6/24/20. I have an order number from The Golf Club but when I try to contact them for a status update, I get no response. I have no idea when or if I will receive this club. If I dont get what I ordered by the end of next week, I will be forced to call my credit card company to dispute the charge.

I ordered clothes on May 14. Got a notice that order was cancelled, BUT THEY STILL CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD. I have called several times and left messages, sent emails with no response. I hope no one else gets caught in this scam.

Called in to get some info on the new MP-20s and spoke with a very knowledgeable employee, Clay I believe. He was very patient answering my numerous questions, as Im relatively new to the sport. Been here a few times and always had good service.

Great little local shop. Service was excellent. Went in to get putter regripped and a new shaft for a 3 wood that snapped. Rob was knowledgeable and efficient. He had it all knocked out in less than 30 minutes. He even sold me on a 60° Mack Daddy wedge which I truly am in love with.Thanks Guys and keep up the great work.

Came in to get a new set of clubs and was greeted professionally by Clay. Couldnt have been more impressed with his service skills, and I had a great time working with him. I have had a hard time in the past getting clubs fitted for myself, but he was able to accommodate all of my requests.

Had by far the best price on the golf bag that I was looking at, and the color I wanted was listed as in stock. Within the next 6 hours the status of the order went from pending to awaiting shipment. Excellent!48 hours pass- still not shipped, so I call. “Well, we didn’t have it in stock so it is shipping from the company directly. They usually only take a day or two, you should have a notification very soon.72 hours after that- still not shipped, so I call. “I see that it is in production, you should have confirmation and notification today or tomorrow.”72 hours after that- still not shipped.So my credit card has been charged, for a product they didn’t actually have, and that they can’t tell me when it will ship.

I honestly dont even understand how they make money. Ive walked in 3 times, and have never had anyone ask if they can help with anything. Ive spent up to 15 minutes at a time looking through their gear without any interaction. One time, I walked in and there were 2 guys working with some older gentleman in khakis, so there is a certain time of client that gets attention- it just isnt me.Oh, and left-handers, forget about it.

Just spent 15 minutes in here with a friend looking to buy a bag on a slow Sunday. No one else in the store and still the guy didn’t say a single word to us, either as we walked in, walked out nor asked if we needed any help. Pretty much the worst customer service.

Having retired from the ARMY, I am pro-military, therefore, I was pleasantly surprised when my son purchased the PING OCP military golf bag for my birthday, in fact he also purchased one for himself as well. Unfortunately, any attempt to contact business regarding refunding of shipping cost, has been met w/deafening silence, no contact, nor explanation of current status. Voting w/our wallet and feet.

Brought in a Scotty Cameron Select GoLo in decent-good condition. Their websites club pricing tool told me $135 or so. Which I wasnt expecting, but decided to take it in to see if I could even get $100. The first time I brought it in the person who buys clubs wasnt there. The next time I brought it in they offered me $75, nearly half of what their website said. Was offered $125 by a pawn shop, and about the same from Golf Galaxy. Asked if they would take it for $100, but they wouldnt. So I wasted my time because of an inaccurate representation on their website.

He was helpfully thorough, and clearly committed to ensuring that I bought the right equipment - never tried to up sell- His candor combined with equipment knowledge made this an enjoyable process. These will be my third set of Mizuno Forged Irons and by far the best buying process.

Finally stopped in after years of driving past this store. On my second visit and am more than satisfied with the selection, prices and service. So much better than the larger golf shop that closed Golfsmith. My new home for golf equipment and supplies.

Ordered a set of Ping irons over the phone (I knew which specs I wanted already). They were very polite & helpful & completely guided me thru the ordering process. I had my clubs in 1 WEEK! (order date w/ them to my front door). VERY SATISFIED!!! Too bad I live half-a-country away from their store. But I will definitely consider them for any new club purchases.

If you are left handed dont bother. I was basically told I had no new options at all to try. Only option was a fitting and only a few club options there too. Better off going to a chain for more attentive service and better selection as a lefty which kills me to say. Would have really preferred the local shop.

Went in for some golf balls, found out they have $20 clubs, and probably the biggest selection of left handed equipment Ive ever seen (good for me since Im a lefty). Percy even fit me for some irons and I ended up leaving with a carry bag and a good used beginner set of irons for less than $300. Got really lucky on that deal. I didnt really know this place was even in Austin as I used to go to Golfsmith all the time but this place is my go to from now on. Staff is also super friendly!

I recently purchased pants through The Golf Club that were too small and I had to return them. The entire process was very easy and communication went through extremely smoothly. Everyone was very helpful and I am very pleased with the service. A great place to do business with in the future for all golf needs!

I needed to transition from of Ping irons with stiff shafts to regular shafts. There were so many choices of irons so I went to Dicks, Golfsmith and other retailers and then stopped in to The Golf Club. These guys really know their stuff, helped me pick the right irons, Ben is an expert club fitter AND they are the cheapest in town. Got my irons on order and cant wait to use them. This is the only place to buy golf clubs and get great advice.

Great welcome I was able to test the Cleveland Cbx irons, btw the only place in town that has them to test. Also tested Cleveland launcher driver... its a buy!

The owner saw my post and offered to refinish the putter free of charge after the events had occurred. Terrible experience! Do not order anyhting from The Golf Club! I ordered three dozen golf balls which were available on their website a the time of order. I received a phone call that they were out of stock of the Titleist numbers 5-8 and I agreed to accept two dozen with numbers 1-4. The shipment never arrived and the Golf Club still has not given me a credit or sent new golf balls. I have called three times in the last month and continue to get the run around.

This once was a great place to buy golf clubs in Austin. However, my visit yesterday has changed my mind about this place. This place would not honor their sale prices on Taylormade golf clubs; and this was even after showing the employee their own website publicizing the prices!The employee, Ben, was not friendly and had the most abhorrent body odor you can imagine. I walked in with my family and Ben just stared at us reluctantly asking if he could help.This place is a complete disaster. Please go elsewhere, just like I will be doing from now on.

This place is great. The guys are all friendly and knowledgable, they have great deals and they know how to fit. I bought ping irons and always thought I wanted a 12-degree G25 driver, but after about an hour we decided on the SLDR S in a 10.5 based on my swing mechanics. It was time well spent and I love all my clubs. I seriously dropped from low 80s to high 70s within a few weeks of getting clubs that were right for me.

Looking for single irons. no variety in selection. all $20. Did see some new equipment around. Strange place. Staff was o.k. I was only 1 in store at around 12:30 pm this Monday. Parking great if you are driving a Fiat or Toyota Yaris. Recommend you try other places looking for some used stuff. I will say that this may be a good reason to just shop on the internet.

Terrible, terrible, customer service. Ordered a new Ping club over 6 weeks ago with a3-5 day delivery.Still dont have the club. Cant get timely information or update on shipping. Needless to say theyve already charged my credit card. The worst experience Ive ever had ordering online. Would NEVER order from this third rate company again.

Just got fitted for a complete set of clubs with the help of Greg and I’m sure I’ll be very happy with the results. He was very knowledgeable and helpful.

I ordered a Mizuno Stand bag and after two rounds of golf one of the shoulder straps detached from the bag. I called Mark stating the bag would be sent to Mizuno and they could get credit or a replacement since I was within their thirty day full refund period. Mark agreed they would refund my credit card once they received credit from Mizuno. The same day I ordered a blue Sun Mountain carry bag with Robert and my credit card was charged. Mark forwarded an email from Mizuno with a return shipping label.The next day Robert called to inform me the color I ordered was not in their inventory and Sun Mountain did not have one. He refunded my credit card for the second bag.Sixteen days after Mizuno received my bag I had not received my refund. I verified with Lauren at Mizuno the bag had been received and The Golf Clubs account had been credited.I spoke with Justin at The Golf Club and inquired about my refund. He took my phone number and promised a return call after talking with Mark. Since I had not heard from Justin I called back that evening. He told me they were a small company and my request was in their credit department. I informed him the required documentation to process my chargeback to The Golf Club had been faxed to my credit card company and their service would be reflected in my review.I have purchased a lot of golf equipment from vendors in multiple states and never had an issue. I strongly recommend to everyone not to do business with The Golf Club. With their unscrupulous business practices I predict their closure within the next two years. I have seen this happen many times with companies such as The Golf Club.

Working in the golf industry as long as I have its hard to see a shop that sells used clubs at 4 times or more than the trade in value. Club selection on new was awful as well. Who would want to pay 140$ for a driver from 10 years ago thats in awful shape anyways!!

I have been doing business at The Golf Club since its first little shop location on South Lamar. John and his employees have always exceeded my expectations, and the proof is that this little shop has grown from a closet across from Matts El Rancho to a much larger building to accomodate its growing success. I have had several repairs flawlessly handled in house, and when there is a hiccup, John does his best to communicate and make it right, which is all you can ask for. Unlike Golfsmith, he passes his volume discounts on to the customer and always has the lowest prices in town when its possible. Its really nice to go in to a golf shop where everyone knows your name, and The Golf Club is the only place like that in Austin.
