A great selection of art by local artists. Plenty of quality pieces, just know that you do have to pay for that level of quality. My only quarle is that there is a lot of art pandering to tourism and Austin landmarks. Pictures of someone elses art, being sold on bags and tshirts, just doesnt sit right with me. But we went around christmas time, so that might have been on rotation for the season.

Awesome artist market with staff all around to help. You make one purchase at the end not at each booth. Makes it easier to get around and see all the artist options. A bit faster to get to all than the Armadillo, but also when crowded it was pretty cramped and the line got long to check out, but died down after a rush. Really great, talented artist and awesome selection. There was a cafe for food and drinks as well.

I always enjoy coming here every year to find unique gifts for friends and family. They always have multiple cash registers manned to keep the line moving at a good pace, and the prices are very fair for handcrafted, local goods. It does seem over the years that the space they occupy might be a little too small for how popular theyve gotten, and Id suggest they would move somewhere in the future with better parking.

I was told this was a have to destination. Pulled in and thought, not impressed. Went inside and was an immediate converted. Roomy, bright, handicap friendly, with a child activity area (husband resting area) that allows for leisurely browsing. Unique designs that are reasonably priced. Definitely, put this on your to-do list.

Definitely would recommend going during a non busy time. I’ve been during a down time and a busy time, and it’s way easier to enjoy when there’s not a hundred people inside! Still an awesome place to find handmade gifts, but it’s very desirable so it can be pretty crowded.Prices seem fair, and if they aren’t, there’s a few dealers inside that sell similar things so you can always find a good deal.

Blue Genie offers some very cool artwork, jewelry, t-shirts, candles, and such. I was shopping specifically for cotton baby socks, pottery, and kitchen goods. So I struck out today, but you may have better luck! No entry fee, fast service, and a snack bar make it a good enough holiday shopping stop.

I have gone every year since Blue Genie has started. The first few years were great with excellent vendors. The past few years it has become too main stream with silly art like kitchen towels. Its only 10% art nowadays. Not worth the drive aks definitely not worth standing in line for over an hour to buy some mass produced coasters.

FREE FREE FREE!! This place is free to get in. All other arts and craft places charge an arm and a leg to get in or for parking. This place doesnt do either. They open for the Christmas holiday season and close for the rest of the year. They have so many different vendors here but the booths are not manned. This means you can shop and/or window shop without feeling awkward or pressured. They have a number system so when you buy something they notate where the monetary amounts should be transferred to. You as the customer do not have to worry about any of it, though!Their selections are amazing. My favorite graphic tee place sells here and the prices are not marked up from her website prices. You can find local handmade jewelry, local art, tshirts, handmade soaps, toys, spunky Austin decor and much more!! My wife and I love to come here and just walk around to see if we find anything fun. We both are not big on shopping but always end up leaving here with at least one or two things we want or need. There is plenty of parking and the place is nice and big so you dont have to worry about it feeling crowded in here.

So much local art and gift shopping to be had! Not to mention shoppers can ship mimosas as they browse local wares for the holidays. Very limited parking to start. My expectations were higher and bigger. There were some interesting pop art pieces; but it felt more like an arts-and-crafts gift shop for souvenirs than art bazaar...some nice leather goods, over-saturation of austin coffee mugs, homemade soaps, and body essentials. Nothing exciting in the jewelry avenue.

Blus Genie brings together a range of artists in an authentically unpretentious old warehouse with a well-edited small bar tucked in. The missing star is only for the difference between a temporary space and the layered patina of an artists own studio. Always worth going for the cheerful bustling energy and the ease of having real conversations. There is plenty of accessible work - you know, that regular people can afford. If you miss the West tour on two weekends in May (Google West Art Tour or Big Medium, organizer of this and even bigger EAST in November), there are always the winter holiday shows, Blue Genie Nov. 24 - Dec. 24 and Thornton Road in South Austin. Austin will spoil you with the genuine warmth, range, quality & occasional chicken coop tour of our artists/craftspeople.

Blue Genie is like Etsy in the present. The majority of artists are from the Austin area; many artists return each year so its fun to find familiar works. I try to buy original art at the Blue Genie as Christmas presents for my adult kids. Prices are reasonable - all the items I bought were under $70 each. It looks like prices are coordinated between sellers...no one artist is too pricey or too low. Lots of jewelry if thats your thing, unique t-shirt designs, pottery, block prints and lithographs, stuff for guys and gals and some childrens items. Have fun! Check them out.

As an art bazaar this is a great place. I saw a bunch of local artists and their wares. Liked a few things.Any time you go to something that describes itself as an art bazaar you expect to spend too much, thats a given. This place, though ... Take that too much that you already expected to spend, and multiply it by three (3). Thats what the prices are here.Obviously I ended up leaving without buying anything. But I took note of artists names to buy directly from them without the overpriced bazaar!

Great experience. Loads of great gifts. Open twice a year. Once during West Austin Studio Tour and also in December before Christmas. Beautiful, professional, and unique art, crafts and other products! Kid friendly. Bathrooms available. Friendly employees. My only complaint is that the same artists take up the most space in the market every year. I would like them to fill the place with all fresh new artists and cycle out the old guys every other year or something. But it is a MUST visit for sure!

A lot of local art, mostly jewelery and prints. It has a beer and cocktail corner to the left when you first walk-in, and a kids corner by the registers on the right. My boyfriend ended up buying me a $65.00 needle felted wool rabbit by GypsyHarte, which is absolutely worth every penny! I have never seen, or maybe never noticed this form of art before, but when we first walked by her booth it gave off this whimsical vibe and I felt like I connected with this bunny. They have tons of art from local artists plus other stuff from local vendors. Soaps, candles, prints, jewelry. All hand made locally. Often times these things are also available elsewhere or online on the artists site, BUT Ive noticed that pieces can often be cheaper here at the bazaar than from their site.
