We went axe throwing and it was so much fun! We were in a group of 12 split into two groups of 6 and you play against the other team. They had you play different games and the hostess taught you how to throw and was there the whole time. I apparently am an amazing axe thrower! Will definitely go back.

Not really sure what to expect going 1st time but didn’t think it would very hard to learn. As it turned out the time they commit to teaching you was basically 4 throws before we start competing against other groups. I assumed 90 min would be mostly for teaching us. More practice was needed......didn’t feel like we were given much help in how to improve and once competitive games started it was rushed...hurry up and throw. Some of us had a harder time throwing than others. Some 1st timers picked it up very fast. I’ll not be going back because it’s not fun if you aren’t trained in how to do it. They need to offer private training classes where the teacher actually watches how you throw and takes the time to teach you how to throw. Our teacher was nice but more of a group leader than teacher. Employees were great, place was clean and well maintained. Give it a try if you’re feeling bored ... you may have fun. In order for them to stay in business though they need to think long term repeat business and this is not the way gain it.

For me and my husband we wanted to do something so different and this was a great experience they put us with a group of people which at first it was weird because u thought it was like just us in our own little section but when we got there it was not what we thought but the group was fun the only thing it was super hot inside the building they had the temperature to 80! Everyone in the different groups all made comments and the staff just seemed to nod and move on . It was so hot in the building and surrounded by 12 ppl all sweaty it can be a challenge .. but if you can get over the fact of the heat then this is one great experience!

The Great Room Escape was the most immersive, clever and well executed escape experiences weve ever had! The staff were very professional and helped my now fiance plan his proposal to me and I had no idea! We had booked the Zombie room with Vincent and Clementine, and they made the room absolutely unforgettable! Thanks as well to Spruce Russel Willis at the Axe Throwing next door. Overall I would recommend Great escape room to anyone looking for a unique and thrilling escape room! Thank you again to everyone for helping make the best day of my life so memorable!

The Class Axe Team was wonderful for our team building event. Our group of 15 thoroughly enjoyed the experience and everyone had great time! Our Axe Master (Jackie) was very patient and wonderful teacher. I would highly recommend!

A fantastic time! Didn’t know what to expect, being our first time, but what it turned out to be was better than I could’ve imagine! Great location. Weather friendly building. Class Axe was a great choice for our 13-year olds birthday party this past weekend! The instructor we had was very patient with the boys, who were being boys the entire time, showing them how to properly throw and use care when moving around after throwing. The boys had a great time, and actually were pretty good at throwing! I was surprised by how decent they were at it and that the games were competitive down to the wire which kept their interest level up. And when there were bad throws of course that became joke material so win-win. I dont think many places allow this age to participate, so we werent sure what to expect when we got there but it was a very nice setup for having this kind of party with 10 or so boys. Impressed.

This was my first escape room and I had an absolutely amazing experience! From the explanation to the zombie, to even the attention to detail! It was amazing! Will absolutely be going again and would highly recommend if you are looking for a great activity to do!

We had such a great time! Our host, Bailey was the best. He kept the games moving, kept us entertained and what a cutie (if I might add)! Highly recommend. The atmosphere was fun. I really liked the BYOB aspect. Great night for everyone in our group!

This was the second time Ive done an escape room at The Great Room Escape, and loved it both times. Ive done about 11 escape rooms in total and this place is my favorite spot! The staff is great and its the only place Ive been to where the rooms have actors as part of the story. It adds such a great element! If you do the Zombie Room the actors are make it super fun.

Brought my husband and some friends here for his birthday. We had an absolute blast. Super safe, super easy, SUPER fun. Best part of it all.. BYOB. Hell yes! We can’t wait to go again!

We had a group of 6 and we did both an escape room and the axe throwing. Both were so much fun. I was impressed with the room and had fun playing planned games during axe throwing. Our person was Bad Axe and we had a good time with her!

Went here for Axe Throwing and had a great time! Our group arrived a little late, but were greeted nicely by the instructor and combined with another group of 5 strangers who were very friendly. We split into groups and played a number of games that got the competitive juices flowing! Along the entire time, we were given pointers and ways to improve our throw (moving closer, further, throwing harder, etc.) We really had a fun experience for our first time and would definitely consider going again!

So much fun! And this is from someone who doesn’t like zombies or you know, being locked in a room and having to interact with strangers. Thankful for the team who put this escape room together and made it a great first experience!

We had a group of 8 for our annual team building event. Trey trained and guided us along the way and we actually developed a confidence (and limited skills) throwing an axe. Had a blast! Weve done some very cool things over the years in our Team Building Events and many voted this years team building as their favorite event.

This place was awesome. Great atmosphere. Master Axe thrower was so much fun and provided energy to engage the group. BYOB policy is on point. Will definitely be doing this again and soon. Awesome group date night, ladies night out, or just an excuse to be competitive.

I took my 3 adult sons and one of thier girlfriends and we had a BLAST at Axe Throwing!!! The instructor was great and flexible to our groups needs and she made it so fun. I am in my 50s ...it was challenging to hit the target like darts is, but not hard physically. Lots of cheering and laughter. My advice it to go and do it!!

The Houdini room was so creative and we had so much fun. The puzzling clues were a great challenge and our imaginations were swoaring. It helped our team learn to work together and communicate better. I loved having an actor involved as a character. It added to the experience and felt like living the story instead of just reading a story!

We’ve been twice for Axe Throwing. The first time we had great experience and lots of fun. 4 people in our group paired with another fun group of 4.The second time we went we had reservations for 8 but ended up with 6. They were short staffed and we ended up in one lane with 22 people total. It was way too many people. They did try to make it better by opening a lane for “practice” but all the games etc were on the one lane. We maybe got to throw 6 times or so each just so everyone could get a turn. Was not worth $30 in my opinion on that night.What made it more irritating- another person working finished with his group and didn’t come and try to ease the load on our lane. He didn’t have another group come while we were there and could have taken a large group and thinned it out.We still had fun because everyone was cool but it wasn’t the best experience for the money.

My husband and I had a WONDERFUL weekday date night at Class Axe! Kyle aka the Axecellency, is a great instructor and made the experience so much fun! He was very encouraging when I was struggling to aim the ax in the beginning. We will definitely be going back, so my husband can defend his title as the Ultimate Lumberlord.

I have been twice now and both times it was a blast. Took my 16 year old and his friends - they had a great time. Our “Axepert,” Matthew, was awesome. Taught everyone how to throw and kept the entire group engaged.

We had a double date with some friends; none of us had ever been axe throwing, so we didnt know what to expect. The experience surpassed our expectations, it was soooo much fun! We are definitely coming back, with more friends!

Zombie room was amazing!The actors were incredible, especially Russell playing Trevor the zombie. I thought it might be hokey, but he was very convincing. Ive done a lot of escape rooms and never had my heart racing like it was in that room. The zombie adds a layer of difficulty that doesnt exist elsewhere and the other actor helps pace the game well. Highly recommend!

Overall, the Zombie Room was a brilliant experience. Our live actress Zombie periodically interrupted our code cracking to attack us and we also had a live hostess. The decor was excellent (though slightly too monochromatic). My only suggestions are to get the room much more sound proofed (you can here the patrons ax throwing at the bar) and vary up the puzzles to include a few more textural/tactile or pictorial aspects.

I brought a large group of bikers to Class Axe for our monthly non-bike related event. This was everyones first time axe throwing and it was an AWESOME first experience. Everyone was so accommodating to our requests. They were super flexible with us even with half the group not arriving in a timely manner. Vincent Van Throw was very patient and repeated instructions as needed. Our group ended up being larger than the 12 max per lane and they still allowed everyone to throw. Everyone genuinely had a great time. Highly recommend this place! You can bring your own food and beer/wine.

Cannot recommend this place enough. Great staff and our new go-to for axe throwing and escape rooms. The axe coaches are helpful and make the experience even more fun. The zombie escape room was frightening and having a real zombie in the room takes trying to escape to a new level.

Surprised my husband with a night of axe throwing at Class Axe- there were 12 of us and had a blast!! First part was practice then split the group up into 2 teams for a fun, competitive evening...great team building event,birthday or just a night out!!

I took my daughter axe throwing for her 19th birthday. We had the best time! Russell (Spruce Willis) was a great host. He was so much fun and such a smartaxe, pardon my pun. Youll understand once you go, and I definately recommend you go. Its a great activity for a date night or family night, but would also be amazing with a great group of friends or team building activity. Bonus: if you like adult beverages, you can bring some along with you (no hard liquor) as well as snacks. It was a great experience, and I would encourage everyone to go at least once!

Class Axe Throwing in Austin was a great date night! The atmosphere was laid back and fun; we got to meet new people and throw axes! I can’t wait to go back!

Our instructor was Mr.Nailson and he was awesome. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Some people in our party didn’t know they had to make a reservation but he helped us get everything in order so we didn’t have to reschedule. He had such a great, positive attitude that helped keep everyone calm and having fun. Would 100% come back and specifically ask for him to be our instructor again.

We had a great experience at the class axe throwing off fm 1960. The games were fun and we bonded and got competitive in the teams we formed.The guide with the dreads was attentive and patient. Wish I could remember his name.

This review was for our second visit. Our first visit was so much fun and an easy 5 stars!Our group came to Class Axe Houston this past weekend at 8 PM and had Sweet Axe as our host. Their team was short-staffed so Sweet Axe was hosting three groups simultaneously. Because of this, we started 15 minutes late but were kicked out promptly at 9:30 PM.She seemed flustered and tried to be helpful at first, but then she became rather snippy and gave rude responses to honest questions that our group had. Some of us had been before but not everyone, so there was a lot of confusion when she wasn’t explaining the rules or the games.We essentially manned the games ourselves, which was fine, but when we started, she was with another group so we started tallying our own score. She came back and yelled at us for taking over the scoring, but we wanted to get things moving because we lost 15 minutes of our session.She disappeared for a while, which was still fine and we understood, and she did come back periodically to check on us and start the next game. However, when we told her we would do one of the games a little differently, she responded with, “That’s gay”, which was highly immature and offensive. To top it off, she received monetary tip at the end of our session and literally complained about the amount of her tip right in front of us.I understand that she was busy and scatterbrained with everything going on. We weren’t upset about that. The fact that she was rude and condescending to us for a good chunk of our time there really soured our experience. I had a different host the last time I came and we had so much fun, and this time was miles worse.

I had my husbands 60th birthday party here. It was amazing. Laura, the manager worked with me to set up an area for the small band, an area for our street taco caterer, and allowed us to use their bar area. We had about 55-60 people and Im still getting messages from friends letting me know it was the best party theyd ever attended.We LOVED it!!

Hidden gem just outside of Manor, TX. Weve lived here 5 years and had no idea this existed. There was a Groupon available for 50% off the Axe throwing activity so my husband and I tried it out for valentines. It was awesome! Great layout, fun games, good instructors, etc... Might want to boost your advertising/signage off the 290 corridor so more ppl can find you! We will def be back. Thanks for a great time!

Great place to relax and just enjoy throwing axes with friends or family. Staff was friendly, provided efficient instructions, provided enjoyable games, and allowed a good amount of time to practice shots. I have been to several axe throwing locations around Houston and I would choose this establishment every time!

My husband and I brought my mother here when she came to visit. We originally were trying to go to urban ax, but they were all booked for the day. Thank god they were. We had more fun then we thought possible throwing axes. The guy in charge ,snoop log, was hilarious and attentive. We played games with another party there and then did an individual tournament. Nobody was on there phone, everyone was on the edge of their seats while we competed in teams. Highly recommend coming here.

We had such a great time. The place is nice and the experts teach you how to throw an ax properly and in a short amount of time so you can get to playing games. And it is also BYOB so it was perfect!!!!

I booked Class Axe for my friends bachelor party while we were in Austin. I cant recommend them enough! Having a few drinks and throwing sharp objects was fun to begin with but our axe throwing guide Woodie Nelson (Julian) really took it to the next level. He showed us a variety of games to play, helped us with our form, was a great commentator, and had some on point one liners. If I lived in Austin I would be here constantly!

Very fun! The zombie was so good and so scary. It was definitely something I would come and do time and time again. The puzzles were really fun to figure out: not easy, but not impossible! Fun times, if you are thinking of an entire group activity, this is it!

For my bachelorette party, we scheduled a 90 minute ax session at Class Axe through Groupon for 5 ladies. When unable to make it to our scheduled time, they were flexible and helped get us a later time. After making hilarious tree/wood puns for our names, we had an associate go over technique and rules. When grouped into teams, they had us play different ax games and it became the perfect activity for my competitive nature. Perks of the place is that they also allow you to bring beer/wine. The time flew by and I would recommend this experience for any pair or group looking to do something unique.

My son and I were visiting Houston from St. Louis and we were looking for something new and fun so we tried axe throwing after I saw it on Groupon. We had a great time and would definitely come back.

I had a team outing with about 35 people (Sales team retreat), Class Axe was amazing! I originally chose Class Axe because all the other ranges were 21+ and we had younger member on our team and I am so glad we did! I was able to bring in pizza, beer and wine for my team to enjoy and the Axepertxs that lead each group were incredible (Kyle especially!)! Its not easy wrangling 35 tipsy adults wielding axes. They were incredibly calm and patient with all individuals! The play time was about and hour and half and it felt perfect! Everyone seemed to have their fill by the end of it all. I would HIGHLY recommend booking any group outing here!

We got lost because we did not realize that this place was right next to House of Torment. We got there 6 minutes late. We were taken right away to the back and the instructor made it a point to mention several times we were late and to go over the instructions again because we were late. This was a huge turn off and you’re placed in a group with other people where they do games with them. If you’re going to go whatever you do don’t be late and have a group bigger than 2 people.Would have been a much better experience had we been treated better.

Wouldn’t go back. This was not the first axe throwing place Ive been to so I do have a little to compare it to. First of all, we bought it on Groupon. When you read the fine print, it doesnt cover 2.50 per person. Cool, but when we got there they charged us twice that fit processing fee or something. Secondly there was a party of like ten people they tried to stick our group of four with. We kindly asked to not be a part of the group because we wanted to throw axes today, not with a huge group of strangers. So because of that, the lady hardly paid us any attention. Which would be ok except when she would come over it was to tell us we were doing something wrong. (we were in the section right next to where the other group was so it was totally possible for her to handle both, however, they were Short staffed so Im guessing theyd why they tried to stick us with them. We booked well ahead of time so they knew we were coming.) THEN to top it off, she made us stop before our 90 minutes was up. One of us even asked for one more throw (there was at least five min left) but because they wanted to go home they said no. We will not be coming back.

We did axe throwing with Class Axe. We loved it like crazy! Thought we’d be sore after 300+ throws, but feeling great!

We went on Christmas Eve and were the only ones in the place. Jillian took such great care of us. We had never thrown axes before. The games were a blast!

We had so much fun with our visit to Class Axe. We had three people in our group and none of us had previous experience. Julian took his time showing us what to do and giving us tips to make our ax throws better (and we needed all the help we could get)! He also joined our group to make it an even four for teams of two. He kept things fun and lively the whole time we were there and we all had each other laughing. We cant thank Julian enough for showing us a great time and for being an all-around awesome human. Thank you, Julian!

This review is two parts:1) Class Axe is a great place to have fun with friends. The idea is 5 star worthy and depending on which employee is working with you, so is the experience.2) the reason for the 3 star review, the lady employee who worked with our group was very immature. She bragged that the games were her ideas and she had just made up some rules while we played. This was not my first time there so I knew she was lying about “just making up a rule”. Her “rules” were confusing and inconsistent. There were a few other issues but, hoped he point is understood.So, if you go, definitely get a groupon. Good luck on which employee you work with (the employee with the dreads was AWESOME!). Overall this was a fun and hope to return but not with that lady there.

My first axe throwing experience here was really fun! The name escapes me, but the short lady working there was so kind and funny! I couldn’t recommend this place enough, the atmosphere is great!

I had my first experience with axe throwing at the Houston location and it was nothing short of fun. My instructor was amazing and very knowledgeable in the sport. The interior of the place was clean and very well organized. I will be returning soon.

We had a great time with our ax throwing experience. Snoop Log was a great instructor and very attentive to our needs. This was our first time ax throwing, so, we were very bad at it and not landing on the target. With the help and encouragement of Snoop Log, we were able to start sticking the ax on the target after about 15 minutes. I highly recommend this event.

Prior to my visit at Mindspark Escape, I had completed two escape rooms elsewhere. This was my first time experiencing an escape room with live actors though! The zombie apocalypse escape room was intense but both thrilling and exciting. Highly recommend this location and this particular escape room setting!

The event was great and we had a good time. The bays are a little small for the number of people they crowd in at one time. If you dont bring your own group, and are paired with other people, you may be frustrated when they dont arrive on time. This really slows down the process of getting started because the instructor has to stop and get them up to speed.Once the games start, it is a ton of fun. It was a great atmosphere and the instructor was phenomenal. Overall a great experience, and I will certainly go back.

Was a great time with my family. Instructor was very good on teaching us the technique. But... I paid for 90 minutes class and received only 60 minutes class. We got there and our instructor was still preparing the wood for our class. He even rush I to the games to finish on time because he had another group coming. We start the class at almost 30 minutes late! Such a disappointment in that area... I would not get back for that reason!

I went with a few guys the morning of my wedding, and it was the best possible choice! Kathleen walked us through how to throw, got us into some competitive games and made the whole experience smooth and a blast while making sure everything happened safely and everyone felt comfortable. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
