My dogs absolute favorite place in the world! This dog park is huge, with tons of open space for your dogs to run around, beautiful views, water for them to play in, and a 2.1 mile loop in case you wanted to get some walking in yourself while youre there. Well worth the annual pass!

My dog absolutely loves it. I also enjoy the loop around the park, which is about a 45-60 min walk. There’s a nice stream for the doggies to play. The only complain is that the annual pass lane is closed. So, even though we got an annual pass, we ended up waiting at the entrance for about 15-20 min for multiple visits for the non-pass holders to pay the admission.

The park is wonderful, the gate staff helpful and friendly and my pup has a ball when we go.Maybe its just not worth the cost, but the entry area could really use a daily hose down. It reeks. Every visiting canine needs to go pee the moment they get there, that makes sense, but after months and months of that without much rain, your nose is assaulted for the first 50 feet or so from the parking lot.Aside from the smell, which may or may not be fixable, the parks only draw back is the visitors that cant be bothered to pick up after their furry friend. Most people seem prepared to clean up after their animals, and the park makes it very convenient with many baggy stations and trash cans.. But those that dont are ruining things for the rest of us.If you visit, please take care of the park so we can all continue to enjoy it with our 4 legged family members.

The best dog park in the COUNTRY. The only issue I have is with other dog owners who dont follow signage or pick up their pets waste! The park maintenance is challenged by inconsiderate ignorant people who dont understand whatSTAY OUT - NEWLY SEEDEDmeans. Its how the dirt around the river is maintained and NOT washed away. So every year the park has to try and get these areas to grow, while people stomp through the newly seeded areas. Then they complain about the cost if park fees. Insanity!!!Still worth it though

The most amazing dog park I’ve ever been to. I bring my dog here every single time we get to and she loves it. She’s always tired afterwards from running around with other dogs and splashing around in the water here. I highly recommend for all dog owners to come here and let your fur baby run free.

A huge off-leash area with a bunch of different paths you can take to change things up. There is a small obstacle course to work your dog with (ramp, three heights of jumps, a tunnel and various heights of platforms). You cant beat the water though... many access points to a long water front to cool down and have some water play - make sure you have good recall on your dog though because the water area isnt fenced. For the most part, the people that go to this park have friendly dogs which is more than I can say for the smaller parks.

Amazing dog park! Huge with tons of space along the creek for the dogs to play/run/swim. Pricey at $14/day but they do have season passes available. Also gets busy/full. We arrived at 9:30am and had to wait 30 minutes to get in (parking lot was full). But because they dont let anyone else in once the parking lot is full, it doesnt get TOO busy. Overall, we had an amazing time and it was worth the money and wait.

Review №17

There is a lot wrong with this park. The entrance fee is ridiculous; $11 for park/parking access (per vehicle) and $3 for the dog park. Thats $14 per day to access the dirt and open spaces. They claim that the dog park is entirely fenced. It is not. There is no gate to the creek areas, which is not fenced, so, if your dog is off-leash, they could just run to the Creek area and disappear into the wilderness.TL;DR; Expensive. No value over public (free) parks. Not safe for explorer dogs.

My big and little dog both loved it here. Every one was very friendly but its large enough that it wasnt overly populated even on a really nice afternoon/evening. Theres a nice stream for the dogs to play in as well. Mostly larger dogs but my little dog couldnt care less and there were a few friends his size. The park does get muddy after rain or snow and the paths aren’t paved so if either avoid it altogether or wear shoes you don’t mind getting messy.

Most dogs are well behaved, which I think is a benefit of a paid dog area. The creek running through provides relief from the summer heat, and flows seem relatively consistent through late summer so no stagnant, nasty pools. Really the best off leash dog area in the Denver metro area imo.

I love taking my dogs here. The paths have something for everyone. A short walk. A medium long. Or a long walk. The river portions are also great. Always a lot of dogs, open space. Plenty of room for your pups to get a lot of exercise. The water is perfect for them to play in and cool down on hot summer days. There are a variety of areas and terrains to explore. You do have to pay to enter, so keep that in mind as you set out for a fun filled time at a dog park that is fit for humans too! We like to bring a snack and make a long afternoon out of it. I would suggest bringing towels as well, if your pet (or child) gravitates toward water. This will lesson the mess on the ride home. It used to be a great place to bring the dogs to run. Anymore many of the people come to the park, turn the dogs loose to run, dont obey the rules of the dog park like not leasing there dogs in the parking lot ,start talking on cell phones and totally ignore their pets. The dogs are running wild, knocking people down, and getting into dog fights. The owners are not picking up the waste left by their dogs because they are to busy ignoring them. We have voiced concerns to the rangers and park office by phone because the rangers are never there to address concerns face to face. People are having their vehicles broken into in the parking lot. After coming to this park for over twenty years it is a shame to see it being ruined by inconsiderate people. As a last word of warning, do not attempt to come to the park on the weekend. the woman in the pitcher her dog attack my dog in the parking lot, the dog was not lease and mine was, no apology just a f off.

Its enormous, with enough room for energetic dogs to run around and play, older and/or calmer dogs to get all the pleasure of an off-leash stroll, and a stream for water-loving dogs to romp and get themselves (and often their owners) a bit wet. :) Weve been going here for a year now, and have had all good experiences with dogs and people alike. Tl;dr: This park is NOT entirely fenced in! The creek opens up into the much, much larger park, and there is a fence on the bank but it is mangled and torn apart and my dogs easily left the dog area. If you have explorer dogs (like say two huskies) beware because they can easily leave and enter the massive Cherry Creek park.Other than that, this place is amazing, its like dog Disneyland. Definitely the largest off leash area Ive ever seen (although again, not entirely fenced so not sure that counts). There is a creek that my dogs love playing in and drinking from and unlike stagnant ponds or lakes they dont get sick and they dont even smell afterward! This place is super cool but it is a bummer that it is not actually enclosed, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

This off leash dog park located within Cherry Creek State Park is a life saver for owners of energetic dogs. As soon as our pup was up to date on vaccines and cleared by the vet to visit we have started visiting here in a regular basis.Important facts:This is part of the state park system, you will need to purchase a day pass (if you driving and want to park at the main entrance and you are not walking in from other parts of the park).Having an Annual Pass makes entry faster and easier when an attendant is on duty. There is a self serve (paper not electronic) kiosk. Cash or check recommended. You can pay $2.00 for a day visit to the dog park or $20.00 for an annual pass that is good for 1 year from the date of purchase. In theory you could be asked to show your dog park pass, do keep it with you. We went for the year option and have laminated ours. Its good for your whole family and up to 3 dogs. The fee is minimal and helps support dog park maintenance including regular waste pick and disposal, grounds care, etc.,There are public bathrooms at the entry point. There is also a water fountain for humans and one for dogs right inside the gates. There are plenty of doggy waste stations all over the trails and trash cans so no excuses not to pick up the poop and happily most people do, even when their dogs go off trail. This place is steadily busy at most times of day but long car lines form on the weekends as people must wait for parking spaces to open up, usually in the morning when it is still cool. Arrive before 8 on Sundays to avoid really long wait times. We havent tried Saturdays yet!Week day mornings are less packed but still steady. The park offers glimpses of the mountains and they made some great access points to the river/creek including one that is wheel chair accessible--awesome! Before I had my dog I was a bit bemused that so much effort had been put into setting up all the stairs and rocks and such to the water, now Im grateful. There is shade and water when it is hot and the dogs love splashing about. Some people keep a very watchful eye on their dogs, others dont. Be prepared for a wide variety of approaches and personalities. Our pup has been socialized at doggy day care and does well with the wide range of sizes and temperaments despite being small. Just be aware of your dog and what it needs.Bigger kids seem okay here, many play in the water with the dogs, but, the dogs can get very excited in their running and chasing. I have not been knocked over but Ive been run into, bumped, and jumped up on so anyone visiting should not be afraid of dogs.If you carry treats, balls, or other doggy things, be prepared for canine interest, aka licking, sniffing, and bumping from dogs other than your own.Water shoes are a great idea if you dont want to get out of the water at each entry point and just want to follow your dog up or downstream. I like to walk counter clockwise so my dog gets wet early and is drier by the time we finish the larger loop. The walk around the outside loop is about 2.6 Miles including to and from the parking lot plus in and out of the water areas a few times. There are plenty of options for shorter loops or doubling, too.The paths are gravel and clear/obvious. There are at least 4 other entry points from the main park into the dog area. The occasional runner and biket does go through as well (with or without dogs). Great place for walking the dog and pushing a stroller with decent wheels if families want to get out of the house with the their dog.Overall a wonderful place to spend 45 minutes or a couple if hours enjoying nature and the dog antics.
