Kind of a boring preserve. A mix of gravel or mowed (mostly gravel). You can bring your dog unleashed. This one is good for biking (flat) or bringing your dog to run around. Not so much for actually getting out into nature. There are better ones close by if thats what you are going for.

Its a good place to fly model airplanes and drones. The short hiking trails lead to the flying field. Off lease dogs are OK.

Love the off trail hiking this preserve offers. Great scenery, and alot to explore. Just logged 10 miles inside the park today and am looking forward to next weekend

It was definitely a great experience, beautiful scenery, stayed vigilant for coyotes and was able to get some fresh air :-)

Open trail you can have your pets off leash. Not fenced. Quite a bit of dog waste on the trail but pretty nice considering.

Great forest preserve in the middle of suburbia, although it is usually a bit marshy

Great place for a nature walk close to home. A portion of it is off leash for dogs, and they love it. There are some areas that get muddy but overall very nice.

Small quiet area for a quick hike!

A lovely open space with a network of trails to let a well behaved pup roam free while you enjoy a nature walk. On occassion you may spot a deer or coyote or interesting birds. All the other dogs weve encountered have been very friendly as are their owners. Its really a treat to have an ammenity like this avaliable to dog owners.

Not my favorite place, people dont clean up after their dogs leaving the trails full of pet waste to step in.

Good place for yourself or others to enjoy a nature walk. Dogs are allowed unleashed in certain areas but supervised of course. Theres also a designated area for radio flyer planes. But beware during the summer time, the mosquitos and bugs can be unbearable.

Wonderful spot to get your bird dog sniffing them out of the prairie grass. Nice wooded cut through as well.

Usually not to busy, great place to let the dogs run for a half hour

It literally says forest preserve in the title yet theres no forest to preserve. Plant some trees and Ill give you more stars.

Horrible!! If you like sitting at a miniature rest stop with only one bathroom,thats not a forest preserve,I didnt see any trails maybe there was, but all I seen was a yellow gate with a lock on it and it led to some sorta club,not a place to enjoy Nature

Great place for off-leash dog walking. Both Open Fields and Forest Preserve. I know they cant but if they could shovel the walk during the winter the dog owner wouldnt be so tired when she got back to her car. Haha. But thank you Kane County for wonderful forest preserves

Great place for a walk

Always clean. Lots of options, including tennis, baseball, soccer, swings, and even ice skating in the winter. Giant sledding hill facing the river is super fun, too! In the summer, the hilly area is a set up for a Civil War training ground reenactment, which it really, actually was, during the Civil War. Great spot to walk your dog, too. Sometimes you can see the deer that walk through. locations had bathrooms and water fountains. Definitely earns 5 stars.

Was nice and peaceful nice place to chill and nap.

I’m sure it’s not always like this but the day I was there it was absolutely infested with mosquitos. I was just trying to do a quick birding walk and had to leave because I was getting eaten alive even with spray on.

Great dog park

Awesome place to take kids and family. Although the bathrooms were not unlocked which was very inconvenient for the kids.. We had to go all the way to the gas station to use the washroom. The lake is amazing. We did not catch any fish though. The sides of the lake were recently trimmed back but it was extremely rough to walk on the brush left behind. Not really allot of people overwhelming the place so it was quiet and relaxing. People were not so careful about getting their trash into the trash cans which is disappointing since there are cans provided.
