Blackberry Farm is a perfect place for a play date. Or just any outing. The admission is about $6 and it’s runs of outdoor fun for little ones. They have a train ride, pony rides and hay ride. They also have paddle boats which are very nice. The park area is a big hit. They have a zip line and a cool play house area.I recommend going early because they close at 3. You will need all of the time to enjoy the entire park.Check their website for dates and themes where cool characters will be there. They have story time and lots of photo opportunities with them. You can bring your own food and drinks here or use the concessions. I feel that the food is mid priced. Nothing too over board. Even though we packed lunches we still purchased items from concession.

This is the first time our family has been to Blackberry Farm, but it wont be the last. There is an admission charge, $9/adults, $6/children 2 and up. But other than the admission fee there are no charges for activities. They have paddle boats, a carousel, pony rides, a train, as well as wagon rides. There are a few wonderful playgrounds, as well as various shops. We spent some time with the blacksmith as well as the potter. The grounds are beautiful with a few ponds, fountains, and amazing flower beds. We all loved it!

This place is great for kids. Bring a lunch or buy from their cafe like we did. It was reasonably priced and pretty dang good. Once you are in everything is free to do: pony rides, train ride, paddle boats, carousel, everything. Wonderful experience. And very clean. Plus, employees were incredibly kind.

Brought my six year old nephew and four year old son and they both loved it. The peddle boats were our favorite, but the kids also spent over an hour in the playground area alone. I personally enjoy the historical aspects, and I think the kids will too once theyre a bit older. We will be coming back for sure!

What a cute and neat little place! Little man loved the animals and loved the little play area for kids! I loved that he got in free and that it wasnt that expensive for us adults. We went on a Saturday morning which wasnt too busy so that was nice. We definitely would reccomend this place but wish they had a petting zoo for the little one. Oh the carousel was fun and free so thank you for not charging for the extras. Some animals we seen were chickens, geese, roosters, ducks, turkeys, goats, alpacas, cows, and a bunny. Thanks for a nice experience Blackberry Farm!

Walk back in time as you check out the streets of yesteryear in the museum. Test out your math skills in the one-room schoolhouse. Take a train ride. Enjoy the paddleboats and pony rides. Ride the Spider-Man horse on the carousel. See the old carriages in the carriage museum. Check out the pigs, goats, cows, and chickens. Take a wagon ride and see the Little House. Finish up at the fort and playground. This is a full day for the family and definitely worth the visit.

I love this place. Great playground for kids and there is a lot to do. The entire place is always very clean, looks very well kept and staff is nice. The horses on the carousel are painted like different super hero and different characters which made it a lot of fun to watch my son run around looking for his favorate horse. There are paddle boats, horse rides, an area for big wheels, trikes, and cars for the kids to use. Overall well worth the visit, and Ill definetly go back. Its a great place thats a little hidden in the country.

This is a great farm for young children. Everything is included in the price of admission, which was less than $10. We have been a couple times with kids between 2yrs-6yrs. They have a huge climbing area with a zip line, punching bags, slides, rope climbers, ect. They sell hay for $2 to feed the alpaca, cows, and other farm animals. Today we also saw Hens, Turkey, a donkey and a pig. They have a tractor and train ride, a lot of barns to go in with old time things to see. We saw an iron worker, fabric spinning, pottery, and an old time street. They also have paddle boats, Pony rides, and a horse carasole. The food is also very inexpensive and they allow you to bring your own meals as well.

We love Blackberry Farm! Mostly for the events they put on. They have great fall and winter fests and also lots of events throughout the year for kiddos. We love the princess theme ones for our two daughters, we attended a Moana Luau, Frozen in July and a Fairytale Wedding there, as well as a few movies in the park. Lots of mosquitos, so pack that Off! spray! Theres a carousel thats a little outdated-the horses are all painted over, pony rides, paddle boats, playground and barns with different activities inside. The grounds are very nice and the food is decent for an outdoor place like this! Overall, its a cute place to check out for the family.

Great fun for my young children! Unlimited access to all of the attractions once you pay to get in. My kids could go between the train ride and pony ride over and over again so this type of entrance fee is perfect. The playground area is two stories and LOTS of fun. However, if you still need to watch your kids youll have to be in with them. Luckily, theres enough space for adults to fit in most areas. The zip line is a favorite, but the line gets long.Weve been here before on the free days, and it is PACKED. Not worth it.They close early, like 3:30, so make sure youre there around 10:30-11 for a full days worth of fun.We packed our own lunches so I cant comment on the concession stand.

The grounds are stunning. There was a light snow just before we arrived making the entire area seem like it came right out of a story book. There was a lit fireplace around every corner making it very cozy. We stayed in a room, not a cottage, but it was still absolutely wonderful. The bathrooms had heated floors and the bed was very comfortable. Sadly there was a power outage again in the morning while I was in the shower causing the water pressure to drop to a trickle. It didnt last too long, but it was enough to leave me shivering and covered in suds.

Our experience could not have been better, and though the venue was new, everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Guests had plenty to do at the reception - from dancing and drinking, to riding the carousel and train, to simply walking the grounds and admiring their beautiful landscaping. We have come here a few times with the kids and have had a good time each time. Animals seem to be cared for pretty well except for the pig that was tucked in a back corner that was bleeding from fly bites that looked to be older/infected sores. Like dripping blood bleeding which upset the kids as they thought he was hurt. Didn’t see anyone to tell about it but figured if someone checks on the animals regularly it would’ve been addressed. There are also a toy store and mercantile as well as a suburb restaurant featuring comfort food and all the goodness of home cooked farm meals when time was taken to prepare great meals from farm fresh ingredients. They also have fun recreational activities like paddle boats to work off those calories. We came here for a birthday party and had a blast! I cannot believe that this is a Park District property. The lawns are well manicured and the various attractions, though a little old, are well maintained. All the employees were very kind and gentle to the kids. The operator for the merry go round waited for the kids who got off the train (on the opposite end of the walk path) when he saw the children and their parents run toward the carousel. He was very nice. There was plenty to do too. I saw: train ride, pony ride, paddle boats, playground (with zip line!), petting zoo, carousel, tractor ride, and possibly more that I missed. There were many birthday parties going on that day and we didn’t even notice the other patrons. You have a designated space depending on your party size all to yourself. As a local, Ive been to Blackberry Farm many, many times. We go several times a year so I know this place extremely well. There are other reviews about the park in general so Id like to focus on one of my favorite holiday events at Blackberry Farm - the Polar Express. We do this every year and my girls love it. This year you needed to purchase tickets in advance, which probably threw some long-time visitors for a curve. Luckily, we saw this change early enough to be able to buy tickets but our first choice of dates was unfortunately sold out. There are several activities you can participate in at this special event. You can build a bird feeder, do some Christmas art projects and make reindeer food, listen to some Christmas stories in the schoolhouse and meet Santa (and in years past even Mrs. Claus).Of course, the highlight of the visit is the Polar Express. They put lights on the train and have Christmas lights set up along the route along with holiday favorite cutouts like the Peanuts and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Dress warm for this - the wind chill does get somewhat intense.Overall, we love this activity and go every year and will continue until our girls are no longer interested (and even then, maybe well still go).
