Peaceful lovely wooded area. Lots of trails, great for an aerobic workout. Just the ticket for relieving stress. My only concern was possible fire danger.

This hike is roughly 10 miles round-trip and can get a bit crowded on the weekends. Also is more sunshine than shade so bring sunscreen.

Gorgeous place to hike and camp. access to bathrooms and fire pits if you need them or prefer. choice of sandy or dirt sites with plenty of hiking trails. lots of wild life and it seems horse friendly. very good choice if youre in the Sacramento area already and want a pet friendly bathroom accessible place to hike and camp. trucks come regularly to make sure youve paid the fee so dont try to skimp.

Beautiful California wilderness. Great for a variety of outdoor activities. From hiking, fishing, and camping. To horseback riding, and rock climbing.

This is my local recreation area practically in my backyard! Beautiful trails, American River Confluence area is historic and beautiful! Lots of places for biking and hiking and horseback riding!

May, 22 2019, around 3:15 pm. Hardly anyone on the trail due to recent rain. Clear now and so very beautiful! I came around a corner about 1/2 mile into the trail at Robie point, and came behind a huge bear walking along the trail. He was walking away from me and didnt see or hear me, we were both quiet walkers, the rain had made the soil soft. Backed up out of there and got away quickly. Too scared to take a pic, lol, he/she was big! I carry pepper spray, but hope I never have to use it. Phew!
