I went to see The Last Black Man In San Frnacisco at this theater because it is only showing herr and at Phipps Plaza in all of Atlanta. We missed the first 15 minutes due to traffic. I was ordering food at the concession stand but canceled my order when I noticed the hot dog was in plastic and about to be nuked in the microwave. Nope that wasnt worth $5. We decided to go to the next show and requested a refund/exchange.Upon return to the theater we sat doen in our seats. Ok small and intimate. I can dig that. Old style seating ok I expected that. What I did not expect was the smell of the place. It smelled like it was damp and mildewy. The scent was very strong. At times I had to cover my nose. Im glad I didnt buy food. The carpet was worn and funky as well. I kind of expected more considering the neighborhood. I enjoyed the movie and the patrons but it was hard to to concentrate when I could hear all of RocketMan music being played through the walls at the screening next to us.This theater is clearly a neighborhood gem for those that live there and do not expect thrills. The staff is very charming and polite especially the ticket taker. Hopefully some funding will come their way soon for some updates. I would hate to see this place close.

A well kept secret movie spot! Eat drink go to movies drink again! All in one spot. My only two cons are 1 the seats appear to a little worn. not turn just broke in like soft.I was fine after I got settled in though. 2 Getting out of the corner of a parking lot after the movie lets out is a challenge. Over all a great experience. I would definitely recommend and I would definitely return

Saw 2 movies here recently. I love how quaint this place is. Saw the Depeche Mode Spirits in The Forest documentary and Its a Beautiful Day in The Neighbourhood several weeks later. I had a wonderful time attending both. Yummy buttered popcorn adds to the fun! The location is great too. You can pop next door to Apres Diem to dine before your movie or grab a beer and some award winning dive bar food at The Highlander two doors over. All in all this is a great little boutique theater to enjoy a movie with friends.

This is a very small cinema with limited space.Problems:1. No machine where ones can pick up tickets by him/herself2. The seats were odd and cannot be compared to ones in other cinemas such as AMC 143. The customers were not gentle or very civilized. They TALK all the time while watching the movies . Reminded me a lot of my experience in communist China and made me feel so sickadvantages:1. they offer drinks and food other cinemas do not offer such as coffeeOverall, never gonna come back.

Ive seen three films here in the past few months: The Irishman, Little Women, and A Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Is there anything that could be done to improve the sound insulation at this cinema?

It’s a convenient location just a couple of blocks from Piedmont Park. The mall is a little dated and so is the theater, but they do you have everything that you want here. There are a lot of screens, the rooms aren’t large (that’s nice!), and service was fast. It doesn’t compare to the shiny and oversized theaters in the suburbs, but then again, here you’ll find the Oscar winning movies alongside really well-curated films. This is also the place you want to go if you want the classics on a large screen, or miss the art house films, and see other great movies that don’t make it to the cookie-cutter theaters in the suburbs.

First off, I love this cinema and I can always count on it to show films that no one else in Atlanta shows ( and they have excellent curated film series ). And yes, as others have mentioned, the screening rooms are on the vintage side. However, my BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that the SOUND BLEED IS A HUGE ISSUE. Now, I realize this is an older cinema and that an overhaul to equip all of the rooms with extra acoustical walls/padding is not possible but could the management at least try to adjust the programming to where a marvel style action film isnt playing right next to a quiet art film? Thank you for your time.

You wont think much of this little theatre, it looks a bit run down and shabby. But, the sound quality is SUPERB. Never heard better sound in a movie theatre. I come here for every movie because of that. It sounds like youre THERE. I was watching a scary movie and there was a knock at the door, I thought someone was knocking on the emergency exit, it sounded 100 percent real. The seating is not stadium, but it is sloped, so you wont have to worry about peoples heads too much. The cup holders are in FRONT of you, not on the armrests. Dont make the mistake I did and hold your cup the whole movie because you couldnt find the cup holder. All the staff is friendly, happy, and pleasant. Im always impressed by them. Theyre not like every other theatre where everyone acts like its just a job. They have online ticketing, with kiosks to print.Parking is free, easy, and plentiful. Never had issues with parking.Best theatre Ive been to in Atlanta.

Nothing fancy, just an older theater experience that focuses more on movies and being chill than cranking out what is most popular and profitable. There are specific movies that are better experienced here than on the big screen. With that said, since the theaters are. It too big, you can actually sit relatively close to the screen without arching the head too much and really experience a big screen.BONUS: at some showings, right before the movies starts, one of the employees welcomes you and tells you a little about the theater and special screenings they may have coming up, and he will do some of it in English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. It is sweet, and it gives a lot of heart to this place

I recently rented a screen here to play video games on the big screen for my friends bachelor party. Though there was initially a bit of confusion on the scheduling front, the staff worked together to rectify the error quickly and the night was a huge success. Not only was I impressed with the staff, but the entire experience was both affordable and a lot of fun; more people ought to take advantage of the screen rental opportunity here! A special thank you to Stephen, who organizes the rentals--he got everything set up in a flash so that we were able to maximize our play time without worrying about the details. Thanks!

Look. I get that its Georgia. But I expect better audience control out of a place that calls itself an arts cinema. Just... Stop talking and making noise. The audience would not stop talking , jeering and laughing throughout the showing of Midsommar. To the point where I had to walk out 20 mins before the end as the audience rolled with juvenile laughter at a disturbing ritual sex scene.Again, I dont fault the theater their audience being immature and rude. But I do fault them for having no enforceable rules regarding etiquette. When I walked out and complained to the attendant, their response was, thats Georgia. There is no higher recommended art cinema in the metro area, yet it felt like I was watching childs play at a mall outside Macon. We may be the largest city for filming, but we are embarrassingly bad at our appreciation for film. Midtown Arts. Set some rules and enforce them.

I have frequented Landmark many times since moving back to Atlanta in 2012 and always enjoyed movies here...until tonight. While I appreciate the old school feel and much prefer a low key theater setting, this evening was a disappointment, over all. A much anticipated viewing of A Star is Born, for mother/daughter movie time, was dampered first by less than fresh popcorn and then worsened by the terrible lack of sound in theater 5! For a film rooted around the music biz....SOUND is very important. Check the speakers please. Still gave 3 stars...cause the ticket price is decent and location, with easy in and out, cant be beat.

But the best part about all that is I feel like Im close enough to the screen and at the same time able to see the whole picture. I like this place. It’s nothing fancy but that’s what I like about it. Ticket prices are cheaper than big movie theaters and the concession stands has plenty of offerings. They have a unique lineup of movies that strikes a balance between blockbusters and independent film. The only downside is that if you decide to watch one of those blockbuster movies, this theater seems to really attract swarms of annoying kids that don’t shut up during the movie, especially during daytime showings. Independent films don’t seem to have that issue, naturally. I’ll give it a try a couple more times, but if this continues to be a problem, I’m switching to more premium options at places like Phipps AMC where kids don’t frequent.

However, the second time, I bought 2 tickets to a black produced movie and was given one ticket for that movie and one ticket for a white produced movie - which I didnt notice until a few weeks later. Secondly... the movie theater was very crowded and thats when I noticed that since the seating is one level, that it is very hard to see over other peoples heads...so unless the movie theater is not crowded, I wouldnt recommend it and double check your tickets to make sure that the movies that youre seeing are the ones getting the credit!!

Very excited this place seems like they have all the artsy movies that don’t make it to normal theaters. And they have their own unique program for art films. But the seats are literally so uncomfortable. My boyfriend and I are on the tall side. I could hardly cross my legs because of how close the row seats in front of us are. My butt fell asleep a couple times in every position. a little cramped. The guy in front of me was wearing a hat and it blocked a large percentage of the screen.
