Disclaimer, I was a huge fan of the old Masquerade on North Ave.. As a live music bar, the new Masquerade does very well in providing a nice open floor space and great views of the stage, with the exception of the massive concrete columns. Bar service was fast and friendly and the acoustics were good. That being said, I dont feel it captures the original glory of the earlier location. Heaven and hell are not stacked on top of each other, they are across the courtyard. The courtyard area is a very convenient place to smoke if you are a smoker and easy entry back into the venue. The show was great!

The concert I saw was great, but the venue I feel like could have been better. The line to get in was very confusing. I stood in an empty parking garage for 40 minutes and then it turned out that there was a whole other line merging into the line I was in. It was also very hard to hear the singers of the bands I saw, I mostly just heard the music, which is good, but I also would like to hear the words being sung. Its not a venue that Im willing to drive 2 1/2 hours to go to again.

I can only attest to Heaven at The Masquerade, but this place is the holy grail of concert venues. Its spacious, clean, and I cannot adequately express just how amazing the bathrooms are! Theyre clean, all doors close and lock, its well lit, fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and soap. The most amazing thing was there was NEVER a line out the door for the womens bathroom (like there is at every other venue). My only complaint is that the drink prices are out of this world. $8 for a hard apple cider? $15 for a long Island? Really? Crazy. There are a lot of excellent options as far as band watching. There are multiple balconies that offer all different views of the stage. Theres even random chairs and benches so you dont have to stand the entire time if you dont want to.

I always enjoy coming to this venue. The staff have been here for a long time and understand how the system needs to work. It’s become a staple for the majority of artists to make it their stop in Atlanta and therefore provides some quality shows. I’ve only been in Hell and Purgatory, but I know if those rooms are great, then the main room Heaven must be as well. Check out a show sometime!

One of the better venues in the Atlanta area. I miss the old venue but upgrades were needed. Heaven always felt as if it would cave. New Masquerade has good acoustics and isnt quite as dirty as the old. My only gripe is the sound booth needs to be sectioned off better. Other than that, good place.

First visiting after they moved. Never knew this place existed downtown but the venue was good. There was two coolers of free water in the back which I appreciated so much!! The bar never got too crowded which was good. There was one obnoxious kid in the crowd and I told security about him. They watched him for a while and asked him to leave the crowd. Which I also appreciated so much! He was making it hard to enjoy the DJ on stage....

Great indoor concert venue! Hell has a good bar, good speakers, decent bathroom, and some upstairs viewing area. No seats on the main level, so we can pack in close for the headliner. They have some great bands lined up this year! Looks like Ill be back in April for another metal concert.

We had a great time seeing The Interrupters at Heaven! The security check made hanging out in the alley nice and unrushed as we located Heaven. The venue was nice sized and we had a great view of the band. The sound was great as well. Easy to find and decent ticket prices.

Not a bad venue. Smaller for sure. Saw Sevendust there and they killed it. Standing room only unless you buy VIP. I dont drink but they had beer and mixed drinks. Parking was easy and affordable ($10) The venue itself is in downtown Atlanta so it can be tricky to get to. Not a bad place to see a show.

Cool place, Ive seen some of my favorite artists here, never been disappointed, the people are very kind and accommodating. The set up is kind of strange, its like a parking garage that leads to a open space, then there are three buildings there, each building is a different stage. I love the atmosphere and Ive never been to a concert there that cost more than $30. I think I can confidently say this is my favorite venue.

I saw Shawn James and he was awesome. He even came out and had a few drinks before the show with a few of his fans. When the opening act was on stage, he had a booth in the back of the room where he was signing autographs and selling pictures and T-shirts and he was very laid back and down-to-earth. My boyfriend was totally charmed by him because hes totally in love with his music and Shawn James humored some of the crazy questions that my boyfriend had. Overall it was a very memorable experience.

Fun venue and staff is usually pretty friendly. Theres a large courtyard in between all the stages thats nice to hang out in. Expect to be patted down upon entry. Its not in a great area of town, but the venue itself is usually pretty safe. Parking is $12 in the deck, but the deck has easier access to the venue than the street parking.

Saturday night small concerts and cheerful crowd is the spirit of The Masquerade. This place is the signature of the hip and pop culture of Atlanta and is really a place to be when you are young and want to enjoy the musical life of Atlanta. But the accessibility and lack of connection to other things makes it quite a complex place to be after the concert just ended. Overall a nice place but could be better.

Great new venue. My friends and I went to see Caravan Palace here on Halloween. I had not been to the venue since they relocated to underground Atlanta. I have to say I surprised at how nice it was. It’s a fairly large venue with plenty of bars. You are free to go outside and come back with a wristband. There were some food carts and other vendors outside, so that was nice. Overall a very good experience.

I miss the old place, but this is a much nicer venue. The sound from the floor wasnt too bad, parking was hassle free, and very close. It took me less than five minutes to get back to my car. I did notice that when the Bands that are not expected to draw a big crowd, the upper balcony sections where the seating is will be corded off, so expect to stand for about three hours. It only took about twenty minutes between band changes, which surprised me.

This was my first time going to the new location at Underground Atlanta and I have to say it is very cool. The Venue itself was awesome. Im usually not a fan of barricades, but it was pretty awesome being able to see the bands from almost ant distance or angle. The entry process was pretty reasonable as well. That being said, this neighborhood is sketchy during the day and much worse at night. You cant really find the venue and parking is a mess. Underground Atlanta is a wasteland and The Masquerade is pretty much the only thing down there anymore. Id stay way unless youre in a large group but even then, its pretty crazy down there.

Security is a joke I showed my tickets and my ID and they stamped my hand. I asked if I needed a wrist band for being over 21 and was told “No that’s what the stamp is for”. I said ok went on to order drinks and before the main artist preformed a security guard grabbed my drink out of my hand and asked me “.How old are you.” I told him I was 23 and asked why he took my drink and he informed me me and my boyfriend we were being kicked out because we looked under 21 and I didn’t have a wristband (he did I didn’t) I was obviously upset as we paid a good amount of money to come here so I showed him my ID and told him I was over 21 and security didn’t give me a wristband and as soon as I started talking I got told to “calm down” and listen to them, they didn’t even give me a chance to say anything. They took my drink poured it out and didn’t let me back in all because they couldn’t do their job and give wristbands at the door and I looked under 21 to them even though I tried to show them my ID to show them I wasn’t . So we wasted the money and couldn’t even see who we paid for. So many better concert venues in Atlanta.

My first time coming here. I really enjoyed the concert but they should have more people working the crowd as people start pushing their way to the front or just completely ignore the fact you are standing in a spot. The 3 venues themselves are pretty nice and easy to get around. Sound is good too. purgatory is the least enjoyable of the three. The area around the masquerade is nothing but homeless people and vacant properties. How does a big city like ATL allow a whole side of the city to become such a spectacular failure. Attended Masego Concert 1 week ago. Staff NOT friendly. Sound horrible. Drowned out sounding speakers. Unorganized, too small to hold a MASEGO CONCERT. He will definitely have to perform at a much LARGER VENUE. There was no kind of order, which caused chaos. Barred off area near stage got out of hand between patrons not having enough standing space and unable to see concert performers. And, security and patrons (concert attendees) got into a verbal altercation, which totally destroyed the vibe, because security staff was literally pushing patrons back roughly flashing bright lights in their faces to move back yelling directly in their face in a bully type of way. Not a good experience. It was my FIRST TIME at this venue. Will NEVER go again.
