A fun, unique experience for sure. This was my first true improv show (I typically go to stand-up comedy). They are very talented individuals and no show is the same since they use information given to them from the audience. I was very impressed with how witty and funny the cast was. I didn’t consume any alcohol but I hear the drinks are strong and it’s pretty cheap. There’s no food here except candy (skittles, airheads). Definitely eat before or plan ahead. The show was about 2.5 hours or so. The 10:00 show is for adults but they do have a kid friendly show at a different time. Overall a fun unique experience in a very intimate setting. Everyone should try this place at least once.

This is a great comedy club to go out of your way to get to if you live in Atlanta. The group of comedians definitely click with each other and have obviously been working together for a long time. The atmosphere is great. Its a small, intimate space and they arent afraid to call on anyone. My girlfriend and I had a great date night there! I definitely will go again!

I had such a great time while visiting Atlanta due to this place! The tickets and snacks/drinks are well priced and the content was phenomenal. Yes, they are located in a basement so at first it may seem a little odd wandering in there but once you enter the staff is very welcoming. I would love to come by again because they truly made my night.

Awesome group, so funny. Highly recommend checking them out! They make sure to include every audience member in some way, which ends up being hilarious. I really love that they have family-friendly shows -- hard to find in the improv world!

We just moved to the area and are quite happy weve found The Basement Theater. We dont care for the raunchy variety of comedy, so its super nice they offer a more family-friendly option (I surmise their adult show must be quite adult given the baseline comparison).Staff was very kind and upbeat. The venue itself is smaller, but in a way it added to the familial vibe. We had a bit of a hard time finding it, so be sure to not be worried that you are literally walking into a tucked away basement. Itll be worth it!

Ok. Its a tiny basement theatre. Theres an entrance that is a bit scary around d the back.Dont panic. Its gonna be fine. Enter, take your seat, and leave your expectations at the door. Youre in for something different.Theres a lot of comedic bat swinging. A lot. 45% of the time it connects. 15% of the time it connects well. Sit through the exposition and be patient you you will enjoy yourself.

Really enjoyable place to go hear some very good comics who work off what the audience says. Very reasonable too. My only complaint would be it is a very tight space and they put as many chairs in there as possible.

Their PG-13 Improv show had me laughing the whole time. Also, the atmosphere is great. The small venue makes the show feel personal, and open to audience influence. Do make sure to buy tickets early as they can sell out, and arrive 15 minutes early to make sure your party can sit together.

One of the best places in Atlanta to see an improv comedy show. Small, unique theatre, stadium seating and you are up close and personal to the performers. Not a bad seat in the place. They have g rated up to r rated shows plus they have some great improv classes very reasonably priced. Go see a show, take a beginner improv class or both, you wont be disappointed.

While visiting Atlanta, I attended a 10pm show on a Friday night. The entrance to the performance room was tucked in behind a building. The performance seats about 50 guests. The show was sooooo funny! Everyone was having drinks (not expensive at all), and participating in picking themes for the improv team. The late show is probably not for kids... But for adults who enjoy a lot of witt, creative thinking, inappropriateness (in the best way possible), and hilarious dialogue. If you enjoy Whose Line Is It Anyway?, come and watch this show!

Went to the earlier (pg-rated) show. Meant the team couldnt swear in front of the kids or address the existence of Santa. I wasnt falling in the floor, peeing my pants, but the restrictions the team had to deal with made the show funnier, and pushed the creativity. Id not be able to think as quickly, and Id look like a drooling idiot in that jail scene. Will return.

After you had been there a time or two... they remember you and even your name. I love the fact that these are shows for most who are in training to be comedians or improv. JStarr kept it flowing and fun throughout the entire show. They have something for everyone from 8 to 88. Highly recommend you giving this small local venue a shot.

This place SUCKS! I cant even believe its been around for 12 years? No wonder I never heard of it until this past weekend. It was so horrible my husband and I left during intermission and trust me that was the longest 30 minutes of my life!I understand improv comedy is tough, but there is just no substance here! Went to the R rated 10pm show and it was filled with TEENAGERS! Shouldnt that be an 18 and over show? The staff ended up turning it into a G rated show at best.
