Super fun niche book store. If youre into spooky stuff the tours are a must. Had a good time the tour guide was very genuine and the items had unique stories.

Such a cool shop. Theyve got a wide selection of books and some small goods such as chakra candles. But the best part are the extra things they do. We took a tour of their museum and seeing everything was so amazing. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and we had time to explore on our own as well! Highly recommend checking this place out! Id love to come back for a seance or the walking tour!

Kathy is by far the best medium youll find around, as far as my family and I are concerned. Not only did she know things that she couldnt ever know, shes very personable and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. We are definitely getting tickets again for the seance and the other events she has there. Must see to believe!

What a unique experience! Our family is not your typical travelers. The last thing we like to do is stand in a line to see the cookie monster in time square. Visiting the Paranormal Museum was so cool and my kids from 17 to 11 thought it was intriguing. Its a quick stop so the whole shop could be done in under 2 hours and then Id suggest grabbing lunch. There was also a really crazy cool art gallery down the street, Parlor Gallery, so you can walk through there after too.

Cute little bookstore, but definitely needs to be noted that tours of the museum are NOT daily. Advertised on website & on flag outside store that there are daily tours - however tours are only on the weekends, which was disappointing to find out. Definitely recommend calling before your trip to find out which events are being offered for the day.

Books on so many different paranormal subjects! And museum contains haunted artifacts. Its really cool! I recommend all the tours!

The tour of the museum is awesome, and the night ghost tours of Asbury Park are spooky and very informative! I saw a shadow figure by Asbury Lanes while we were on the ghost tour..The building itself is also haunted, so it is the perfect location for the paranormal!

Incredible book selection. They have a paranormal museum above the book store. They also offer walking tours thru Asbury Park, where you can learn grisly & ghostly facts. Very informative! They are only open on weekends, so check their schedule if you want to stop in when headed to A.P.

Nice place to visit, its a bit small. Overall the staff is friendly and stories are interesting. The shop has many books and the museum has a few items of real interest. The dolls are creepy and you can hear the couch sing in a recording they have. Good visit overall.

Weve visited many times, having attended one of their seances, or just to visit the shop. Shop owner Kathy was so amazing with my children, on one trip offering them rides on the sliding ladder that attaches to her enormous bookcase, something my kids still talk about two years later. If youre in Asbury Park for the day, visiting and sightseeing, a stop at Paranormal is a MUST!!

This was a very unique and fun place for a first time visit. Especially if your into paranormal history. The museum tour was a lot of fun and even got to experience ghostly footsteps walking up behind us during the tour which even freaked out our tour guide. She stopped mid sentence and we all turned around and nothing and no one was there. You heard someone walking up the stairs behind us.

I came from DC and was in the area on vacation. I did the museum tour with Kathy. Not only does the museum have some awesome, unique artifacts but Kathy truly is a spectacular tour guide. She is truly passionate about what she does. Kathy is very knowledgeable with the occult and paranormal and I loved talking to her. Please support this business. You will not be disappointed!

I had gone there about a month ago with my girlfriends and had the best time. Kathy was so entertaining and welcoming that I can not wait to go back. She has some pretty amazing things in her store and I am excited to experience more in the near future.

Great bookstore, also candles, sage, and all kinds of cool paranormal stuff. Theres a medium there on Sunday too. The second floor is a museum where you can get an hour long guided tour with stories for only $10! This place is so much fun. Employees were helpful and funny. I cant wait to go back.

I attended a “Beyond the Veil: Seance”. I’ve never been to such an event before and didn’t know what to expect. This was one of the coolest experiences ever! Kathy Kelly who was the medium was beyond amazing. I liked how she told us this isn’t going to be like Beetlejuice. Things aren’t going to be flying across the room. If you’re a skeptic, please leave your doubts on a shelf and pick them up on the way out of respect for the people here who believe. It was great energy. Fun even. There were laughs and of course some very moving movements for those who had people come through for them. I highly recommend trying out a seance! Besides the fact that there is amazing things to see in the museum / book store!

One of the most interesting and curious shops in town. These guys are Asbury pioneers and do so much to make this town the exciting, weird fun place that it is! Check out their Krampus festival in December, and all the other events they sponsor throughout the year, or just wander in after your day at the beach. It’s really cool!

My husband and I have done ghost tours in several states. Ghosts of the Boardwalk was one of our favorites. It was very informative and entertaining. We look forward to doing another tour with Paranormal Books and Curiousities .

Kathy is awesome. Her seances are the absolute best and she is so much better than any other medium I have been to. The entire shop is also great, she has a totally comprehensive collection of books and artifacts. I always recommend her to friends and I also recommend just going to check the place out.

Great store! Lots of paranormal activities, some quite mystifying. Staff is knowledgeable and accommodating.

Whenever were in Asbury we have to hit this place! They carry books and magazines you wont see anywhere else and its always fun to browse the weird things they have. We also went on one of their Ghost Tours last summer and had a blast, all while learning a lot we never knew about the city. You dont have to be super interested in the paranormal to find something you like, and the employees there are always open to answering questions and suggesting other things you might be interested in. A very fun and exciting place!

Ive brought my children down twice for a visit with krampus - everyone has always been so friendly, and the events were well organized .Theres also a great selection of books! My son and I love to read the books about paranormal experiences in the different states, and we found a number of them there.

Took the Ghost Tour last Saturday.What a great way to spend two hours! Our guide (Kathy) was informative and funny, the stories were absorbing and interesting.Didnt hurt that the weather was just about perfect in downtown Asbury Park Saturday night.I would classify myself as a skeptic, but belief in the paranormal isnt required to enjoy the tour. The ghost stories are woven in with all sorts of interesting historical and architectural information about Asbury Park.Highly Recommended!

There is really so much to learn form Kathy and Paranormal Books & Curiosities. They have so much to offer on so many levels from the funny and strange to the seriously paranormal. I had such a great time visiting I definitely will be back to take a ghost tour.

One of the best independently own shops Ive ever been to. Ive been a lifelong patron of Paranormal Books & Curiosities and Ive grown up visiting the shop. Kathy and the team are wonderful, insightful, intelligent and fun people who treat every customer like family!

I recently visited this museum with my boyfriend, and while it is small and simple, it is also very satisfying. The exhibits, I guess I could call them, were little blurbs with maybe an artifact or photograph of what the blurb was about. The decorations were cool, there were a lot of things to look at, and the person working at the time of our visit was super friendly. After we left, my boyfriend was saying how he felt like we were being watched the entire time, and the place really creeped him out. They also offer psychic readings and ghost tours, the latter of which Id really like to try in the future. I would definitely go again!

Drove a distance to get there and guess what? No tours given. The local hipsters hanging out were a complete turn off - a round of snickers for a faux pas I committed in the place. Not good! Some decent titles and copies of Wierd NJ. Not sure if I want to go back.

This is a one of a kind store- anything that you ever wanted to know about the paranormal can be found here (books, dvds, ghost hunting equipment, clothing, etc). If you dont see what you want just ask Kathy, she can be found chatting with customers at length any time you visit the store. It is clear that she is passionate about what she does and she has created an amazing store to share that passion with others. I have been to seances there, had a couple of tarot card readings and purchased books and movies. I have always been happy with my experience. This store is definitely the best of Asbury Park and enough reason to visit any time you are on the shore. In addition, the Paranormal Museum (next door and connected to the store) is a great way to spend the afternoon and super affordable.

I took the Boardwalk tour had a great time! The guide Todd and friend Joe are exceptionally knowledgeable and welcoming. They both made me feel at home, as if I had always been a part of their lives. Both are native of the area and were able to give first hand information on the buildings/businesses, people and area. I learned about wreckers and what used to be in certain places of Asbury park as well as the sightings that have taken place and the Lanes! The Crane house and its residents. Houdini and the séances. And Ocean Grove. I look forward to the other tours when I go back: The ESP, The Pine Barrens, Ghost and Legends of downtown Asbury Park and ghost hunting. Kathy is exceptionally welcoming and knowledgeable. She has a great way with people! I look forward to seeing the new developments with the new building! The store is stocked with great reads, candles and more. Thank you all for a great time!

Paranormal is such a wonderful oddity of the Jersey Shore and is a must stop when visiting Asbury Park. Kathy and the whole staff are the best and are endlessly entertaining whether it be just chatting in the shop, during one of their great ghost tours, or special events like Krampus AP.So excited for the renovation and cant wait for the upcoming reopening. WE visited the PARANORMAL MUSEUM- which is connected to the bookstore. It was $5 bucks to get in and it was super cool. I especially loved the timeline and the historical artifacts! It was a super fun way to spend an evening. Im lookig forward to coming back to go on a ghost walk one night!

Museum itself can be a little overwhelming. Cant wait to do a ghost tour. You can even sign up to do an actual paranormal investigation, which sounds fun and cool.

On 11/20/14 we drove a long distance to visit this store. the hours posted on the web were till 6pm. we got ,there at 4:30pm and was advise by the lady on duty, Kathy, that she was closing. We told her we drove a long ways. She stated you shouldve checked the web. well we did. She gave us little time to shop, hurried us along, made us feel very un wanted. We had a list of items we wanted to purchase, and it was a lot. Unfortunatley, she asked us to leave!!!!!!! I was in the middle of selecting some things when she said, thats enough, I am closing! It wasnt even 6pm.She lost about a $200 sale last night, we left. WE will NEVER, EVER go there again.DONT SHOP THERE......they dont care about you, a customer, your feelings, or making a sale. Bad business. very bad. BYE!

No matter what the hours on the website say the store seems to always be closed. From talking to other owners in the area this is a common occurrence.
