5 Wits is open during the pandemic! I was impressed with their public health precautions: reservations to space groups apart, freshly sanitized rooms, masks required for all guests and staff, even temperature checks before we could enter. It was a really nice way to have a special event before we leave (were about to move away), and tons of fun for anyone who enjoys games and escape rooms. You could do it with or without kids, but we had a blast as four adults doing all three scenarios.

This fun spot is on the third floor of Ballston Quarters. It’s kind of like an escape room but with somewhat less complicated puzzles and a lot more running around / spatial, audio and visual challenges. There are three themes you can choose and since each game is about 30 min long, the best value is to do all 3. Out of the three, I preferred the espionage and mummy theme. The production value is very high. The only downside is we did it as two people when I think the games are designed more for four, and since we’re time boxed but couldn’t solve things fast enough, we sometimes got “pushed through” and the doors opened to the next room even though we didn’t solve the puzzle yet. Overall though we definitely enjoyed it.

I highly recommend 5wits as a corporate event and in particular, I recommend being helped by Scott.I had a team event with 26 people. Scott did a great job welcoming the mob of people and getting us organized. While we were waiting for people to trickle in, he was relaxed and chatted with us and even made a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy reference! While we were chatting it was clear that Scott was passionate about 5 wits and escape adventures in general. As far as the adventures were concerned, every adventure was awesome. Without spoiling too much, this is a great corporate event. Most puzzles required many people so most of the time everyone had something to do. I’d say the optimal group size for these challenges is 8. The puzzles are challenging enough to be interesting but not so challenging that people felt excluded. The production value is the highest I’ve seen, the props and the settings were amazing. There is also a food court downstairs so after your corporate event you can have a convenient place to eat! The price is pretty good if you can get at least 20 people.

Really fun place. I thought it was going to be like other escape rooms, but nope! I felt like I was in the movies cuz these are some very fancy/elaborate rooms. There are some simple puzzles, some difficult, and the staff said there are multiple endings to each adventure and Easter eggs. I tried all three themes/rooms. Definitely recommend yall try it at least once. Worth the price.Warning though, if you dont speak Engrish, youre physcially disabled, or youre very obese, then some of these activities will be impossible to accomplish.

It isnt your usual type of escape room it is more like a 20-30 minute adventure challenge. Which I liked a lot as it is a nice change from the escape room format. However for the price I paid I felt like the challenges could have been a bit more difficult. I understand it needed to be approachable for all ages but some of the challenges were quite simple especially because the ticket price is higher than most escape rooms. Otherwise the staff and the concept were great

Visited all 3 challengesEspionage- favorite one. Most complex thinking and cool effectsTomb- really cool and also a good amount of fright which was niceDragon- fun but whoever the operator was absolutely was rushing our group through as some of the “puzzles” would unlock without us trying for more than 2 min. Didn’t seem right

Fun experience, friendly staff, and great customer service. Its priced so that you more or less have to buy 3 tokens at a time ($40 for 3 vs. $30 for 1), but all three themes are great fun. The scariness and challenge varies, so theres something suitable for all ages.I also want to give the staff and 5 Wits extra credit for being so gracious when our large group of younger kids decided to cancel the tomb adventure while in the first room. (The castle was fine for younger ones.) They let everyone out and gave us our tokens back. Well be back!

Fun and unique experience. A bit like an escape room but more interactive in a series of rooms with different challenges. Great for families and groups!Three different scenarios (Egyptian, Spy, and Dungeon) with puzzles and scoring based on time of completion and additional secrets found. Each scenario took under 30 minutes but would likely depend on the group.

This was the best escape room Ive done before. It felt less like trying to escape out of a room and more like being a part of a mini film. My friends and I had a great time. We checked out all of the rooms and wasnt disappointed once. If youre looking for a good interactive time with amazing special effects 5 Wits wont let you down. I cant wait to go back and try out new themes!

This would have been 5 stars had it not been for the manager, Dawn. If you dont have to interact with her then you will have a great time. I only deducted two stars because the venue itself was great and we really enjoyed the adventures. The host assigned to our party was very nice and worked well with us. We did feel a little rushed at times but it wasnt a deal breaker. I strongly recommend having the manager properly trained in how to interact with staff and patrons of the business. She is pretty basic and lacks fundamental customer service skills.

Had a great time here with a group of 4! Fun escape room concept, but with a much higher production value. Would recommend buying all 3, as each one only takes about 30-40 minutes and the price for all 3 provides the best value. We played the Dragon one and Espionage; for very beginner level, start with Dragon, and then expect a big notch upwards on Espionage, which we found to be much more difficult.Definitely a fun time and best enjoyed with a large group.

Good escape room setup with a more professional feel, where points scored is as important as time to complete.

Really fun! Similar to an escape room, but different enough that it feels like a new experience. The theming here is AWESOME and the rooms are super fun. Espionage had my favorite puzzles, the Castle had my favorite theme, and Tomb was probably the coolest overall. Great variety!

Overall it was pretty fun. Lots of different interactive puzzles and challenge. They are each pretty much like a progressive escape room with three chambers. Lots of different patterns of shapes, symbols, sounds, colors, or hidden buttons/objects.My main complaint is some of the sensors were off for the dragon adventure. Both of the key lock sensors didnt work in the prison and secret passage way to the crawl space never opened. It was fun, but its not worth $40. If this wasnt being reimbursed by work as a team activity then I would be even more upset with how it last adventure turned out.In short, I am not going to be coming back with my family at the current price.

We were in the Arlington area from out of town and had finished dinner with some time to spare. We noticed 5 Wits and went to look around...We were greeted by Dawn and her staff which were amazing and very personable! We gave Drago’s Castle and Espionage a try. It was challenging, thrilling, and the BEST team building activity ever! We can’t wait to try Tomb next time we’re in area! Thanks again everyone!

Came here with some coworkers as part of a team building session. I had no idea what to expect but was totally blown away. I had an absolutely amazing time and cannot wait to come back! Fully recommend to anyone who’s unsure. I’d recommend getting the package that lets you play all three rooms, it’s more than worth it. All the employees were friendly and seemed genuinely excited that we were there with them. The rooms were challenging but not frustrating, and I would 100% recommend this to anyone. Delonte in particular was SO awesome!

This facility’s Operations manager (Dawn) has poor customer relations skills that soured my experience-who shouts at excited 8 year old children who were not given any instruction that they can’t eat the cupcakes in the area that the 5 Wits staff placed them??? She is terse, curt and abrupt -didn’t even take the time to note my name or the birthday child’s name. When I complained about the shouting, she did not acknowledge that her manner was too abrasive but instead tried to blame me, the customer, and throw team members under the bus. Surely, as a manager of a facility that is open to kids, she should know how to guide them firmly but politely. She could learn a lot from the adventure guide Carlos who was pleasant and efficient in dealing with the children. I could not accept the apology from her - she said the words but, once again, the tone was inappropriate. Can only recommend that you keep interactions with her to a bare minimum. She needs training. We really did not get rid of the dragon. Sigh.
