This place is perfect for a short walk or a long time! We loved playing in the sand and running up and down the dunes.

Moonstone Beach! And what a destination it is! Its beautiful, pristine, and in the day on reporting on it was sunny, warm in the seventies, with people barbequing in open pits right there in the sand. There are rocks the size of large houses which can be scaled and even belayed, with a really nice community center, complete with an upscale romantic restaurant in the upper parking lot.Dont forget to explore the cave and trek along the shoreline - a great place for longboarders.tallship awards this destination, s!

We had a very nice little hike across the dunes out to the water. The visitor center was very helpful and educational. They have a hike for kids called an EdVenture that you follow clues and learn about the area on your hike. Upon completion of the EdVenture, kids get a small patch.

Fun. Be prepared for mosquitos and for sand in your shoes. I recommend close toed shoes because of the plant growth and other low lying matter (some may be sharp) on the trail on the way to the beach.
