Crowder county park is a great stop for families. Nice playground with play structures for both young and older climbers. The playground is well kept and the surrounding woods are also great for imaginative play. There are two good size pavilions and the bathrooms are easily accessible and very clean. The park also features a large pond around which there are two smaller playgrounds and a walking path that is paved. The pond is also home to a very, very large turtle. Our kids have great fun hunting for the dinosaur turtle. The only downside is the park is a bit out of the way and there are no swings on the playground or other small toddler/baby friendly equipment.

We had a great experience over at Crowder County Park. The grounds are kept extremely clean and well maintained. The foliage is beautiful and well laid out throughout the park. The boardwalk is a great feature that kids kids can just run up and down all day long.

I cannot comment on the rest of the park as I only visited the playground, however what I have seen gave me the impression that this was a nice, well kept park. The playground was clean and none of the equipment appeared broken. There are lots of options for different ages and I feel its laid out well so that you may keep an eye on your child. There are options for sitting around the perimeter of the playground, as well as a good mix of shade and sun. As an option for place to take your kids I would say this is five stars.

Awesome park with multiple playgrounds, walking trails, a lake, and plenty more. This is a well maintained park that is great for the kids, walking the pets, or just enjoying nature. There are several playgrounds--one larger one for young and older kids and two for younger children. There are walking trails around a decent sized lake that are bike and pet friendly. Plenty of nature to observe and lots of space to get away. There are several picnic shelters with bbq grills that can be reserved for parties.

Great park to walk around and explore a little. You can always see turtles here by the bridges, which are fun to stop and look at but please dont feed them. I wish people would stop throwing their trash in the water too. There are 2 playground here for kids, one is brand new and the other is older. Safe place and easy trails. I wouldnt recommend this for anyone wanting to run as its typically pretty crowded.

My little calls this turtle park. Head here on a sunny day, and you will see them abundance. We park past the playground and walk the trails first, which includes two little pieces of equipment in two different spots. Right now, one of which is closed for repairs. Then after the trails, we end back at the big playground. It is nice because it has musical pieces as well as separate structures, one for older, one geared towards younger. Sometimes its just us, sometimes we bring the dogs, sometimes we bring friends. A very busy park, but still well kept, clean, and perfect for any day.

LOVE this park! Its not overwhelmingly large but there is enough to do to pack a lunch and spend a good portion of the day exploring, playing, and getting all that kiddo energy out. Trails for walking (or riding bikes!), a little pond with turtles, picnic areas, and both a large and small playground. My son absolutely loves the large scale drums and xylophones!

Nice park. Walking path easy for any level. Some of the concrete is in need of repairing but nothing major. BEWARE dont leave any valuables in your vehicle. Someones vehicle got broken into while we were there and her purse was stolen. The only bathrooms open this time of year are in upper pavilion area. Will definitely go back again.

Not a huge park, but lots of trees, shade, a few different playgrounds, a couple shelters, lots of little dirt paths off of the main, paved paths. This is a smaller park but it has good facilities. It has one big playground in the front, with two smaller playgrounds around the back close to the field. It has many shelters where families can host parties. The walking trail around the park is decently long with the option to make a shorter trail by cutting across the bridge. The trail has a good mix of hills and flats. When crossing over the bridge you can stop and enjoy the many turtles that live in the pond.

Crowder County Park is a 33 acre park in southwest Wake County near Apex. We took our dog for a walk while visiting the area. The park features playgrounds, picnicking and about a mile of trails around the park. Crowder Pond is right in the middle of the park and is a good spot to see wildlife - we saw a great blue heron and several turtles.

I love that its a turtle sanctuary and research center ... my family saw a massive Snapping Turtle there once and we always see lots of other aquatic turtles whenever we visit!
