I grow up around the lake even before it was filled great place to explore as a child and today. The parks have been very well maintained and improved over the years. I have walked many a mile picking up arow heads back in the day.

This place is really great! So peaceful and overall wonderful place to take the family and enjoy nature. The lake is beautiful and the sunset was breathtaking! Our camping site was neat and free from debris. They have big trash tins positioned at every other site so you dont have to walk far, and they keep them clean and tidy. No trash overflowing. Loved it!

Nice campsite in Poplar Point campground. Off-peak is the time to go if you want some peace. It is close to Pittsboro, Apex, Cary, and Raleigh-Durham.

Poplar Point campground is fantastic. This was our second time here. We have found that Loop E has some of the most scenic, enjoyable sites but they are walk up only so it is first come, first serve. Both times we have been here we spent Friday night at a different site, and then found people leaving Loop E on Saturday morning and were able to move into their site. E50 is a favorite with great water access and perfect launches for kayaks and paddle boards. The park also offers a military discount so for $20 a night (non-electric) this place is tough to beat!

This place is gorgeous. (Covid BS seems to be having a weird effect. Places in the middle of the woods closed, but lets ALL go to Walmart. )My only complaint here would be the bathroom and shower facilities. They REALLY could use some work. Other than that, nothing that Im not really enjoying.

We love to go camping, fishing and even using the recreation center. We havent had any luck on fishing. Last time we went camping our camp site flooded but it was still fun and we made memories that day trying to dig a canal so the water would drain and our tent wouldnt flood.

Its a great place to camp and fish, the showers need a bench to put your clothes on, and they need to spray down the bathrooms to clear out all the spiders!

Theres the good, the bad and the dirty at this location. Granted, Im pretty sure it isnt known for its trails, it was still very disappointing. Actually, when we went to enter the trail, a group of teenagers walking by said something like, They have trails here?? The lake itself is beautiful and was relatively clean the day we visited (a lot cleaner than some other lakes weve been to in the state). However, we like to walk the trails and explore when theyre available. The first thing that got us, once you managed to locate a trail, it was poorly marked/overgrown and you had no idea which way you were supposed to go. We decided to press on and see what laid ahead, when things got worse. There was trash EVERYWHERE. Downed trees, trash and no markers forced us to make our own path back to the street and to our car. I had to PAY to experience that?? What, then, is the money going towards if not the upkeep if the park?

Wi
Review №22

There are alot of spiders in the facilities and it seems like they do not do much maintenance the facilities either.Privacy is non existant considering that the shower stalls have low doors and no curtains. The sites are kept up for the most part regarding cleanliness and trash being picked up regularly the views are clean and the water clear.Over all a beautiful lake view and good well kept trails just dont be Arachnophobic

It would be nice to pick your campsite like some of the camping places in outerbanks. We tried to pitch our tents outside the gravel where there were some clear grounds, but the ranger stopped us. Even with our matts it was so uncomfortable sleeping on the gravel. We were the very first campsite so there was cars driving by and we could hear the lovely sound of the freeway. Other than that the bathrooms and lake were great!!!i would go back.

Great place to take the family for a fun day on the water. You can pull boats and jetskis up to the little beach area and stay out all day for just $7 per car. Had a very fun day with the family. No issues with rude people or anyone getting in your personal space. Nobody messed with our stuff on the beach either while we were out on the water. I will definitely be back in the future.

Really gorgeous campground right near the lake. We had a wonderful time. However, my only complaints are that the only working water was at an RV site (the faucet by the bathrooms was broken) and the trash cans were not secured to prevent raccoons and birds from easily getting in. We heard quite a few raccoons rummaging through the trash cans near our tent all night.

We camped here at the the Crosswinds Campground in our RV for a quick overnight. The sites were large and the bathrooms were clean and updated. It was well maintained and we felt safe. The water was turned off at the sites due to low winter temps, but we were warned well ahead of time. We chose this campground because it was a short drive from RDU, only 20 minutes. Cant say I would swim in the lake or spend a week of vacation here, but as a cheaper alternative to a hotel it was great.

These are very nice camping sites! We were in site 1 and it was beautiful with wooded camping areas, a large field and a small beach for swimming! Bathrooms and showers were just past the playground () and the area was clean and well kept. Jordan Lake camping is a super fun way to enjoy nature without having to rough it too much. Its a great getaway for a family or friends!

Beautiful area, but not ideal for camping in the off-season. Only one site is currently open and signage poorly reflects closures. Firewood is reportedly sold by patrolling rangers, but dont count on their timely arrival for a hot meal. Regardless, Parkers Creek is well-maintained and despite being busy, quieted down substantially after dark.

Ive been camping in Jordan Lakes various campgrounds since I was a kid, and its consistently been a fun and relaxing experience. I was a bit nervous to go this weekend since weve gotten a lot of rain and some campsites were flooded, but the rangers were very accommodating for anyone whose campsite may have been flooded out.I was in Poplars loop B on this particular outing, and had great cell service the entire time which was comforting. Bathrooms were also a short walk and were clean as could be and in great condition as always.Dogs are allowed on leash (6ft) and I brought my pooch and had no issues. There were quite a few doggies around. There is a breeze off of the lake in most sites, so the temperature will be a lot cooler, which is great for NC summers.I also purchased firewood at the entrance which is $5 for a small bundle, and would definitely recommend at least 2 if your not cooking with it, and double that if you are. You do want to buy firewood in the area, and I know some gas stations near the campgrounds also sell firewood but Im not sure about the cost, especially in the off season.I love camping here and I cant think of a single negative! Large group trips like scouts or church events are so much fun here as well, as they have certian campgrounds made for such groups. Ive never used an RV or camper here, but they do have hookups and campsites for those options. If youre looking for a fun, cost effective, easy camping experience this is the place to go. Also excellent for first time campers! I dont know if they have any more rugged campsites here, but in my experiences this is not a wilderness camping experience, so if youre looking forward to digging your own waste trench this is probably not for you, but if youre looking for a spot where you can spend a day or two in nature, this is 100% what I would recommend!

We totally love camping at Jordan Lake. We were at Parkers Creek this time which was great, we havent had a bad site at any of the campgrounds. We hiked on the red trail to the beach which was well marked and an easy hike. We put a canoe and kayak into the lake. We went fishing and caught a fish. We set up a carport to cook and dine under and had a group of friends join us for the day- totally relaxing trip. There is quite a bit of tree coverage for the campgrounds, so it does provide shelter from storms and sun.
