This place is truly awesome. My wife and I go here almost every Saturday. We always get the VIP section when we go for just us two and it’s great! Alexis is the absolute best, and always makes sure to check on us and refill our drinks, and make sure we are taken care of in the VIP section. Always request her, because her personality and customer service is spot on. Nick is who we always communicate when we want to reserve the VIP booth. He is incredibly professional and friendly and his communication is wonderful. He always greets us when we are there and makes sure to take care of us whenever we need it. Nick is one of the reasons why I recommend this place so highly, because he takes care of so many different aspects of the club and still makes sure to give you that personal care. Nick and Alexis are the stand-outs, but the rest of the staff do a great job making sure everything goes smoothly and that the atmosphere stays fun for the club environment. There’s enough security to make sure that nothing goes wrong, but it does not get in the way of the club fun at all. I would suggest getting the VIP when you can, because you get your own private seating area and the bottle service and extras and the entire experience is definitely worth the pay. The club and facilities are always very clean, and i would highly recommend this Necto for a great time.

Necto really feels like a big NYC club...even though youre in Ann Arbor. The place is always clean, the bartenders are always professional and nice. They get some great DJs and Drag Queens to perform. Its just an impressive, well run club. If you want a guranteed good time, definitely check out Necto!

I would absolutely recommend Necto to anyone looking for a good time at a good price. With drink specials on drinks that are already less expensive than most bars, great staff, and music that will make you want to go all morning long Necto is 10/10 the place to be! Friday nights are my favorite!

I’ve been coming here for years. and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad time here. me and my friends always come on Friday nights. It feels real welcoming, workers are nice, consider letting your guests smoke mary jane out in the outside room. LOL! oh and they have a great happy hour

I went clubbing for the first time last night and it was so much fun. Lots of fun people. It can get hot and crowded but thats not necessarily nectos fault. The guys there are like vultures but if grinding isnt your thing a respectful no thank you is all it takes. I would recommend it and plan on going back soon.

Tried rating this place fairly. Ive only been here a couple hand full of times and before i was 21. Havent been there since so no idea of the place now. I always attended the industrial nights with my friends from high school years back. They other nights wasnt really my crowd nor is night clubs really my Scene. Never had a bad time just not my type of place. I prefer more a sit down and hang type of place.

Great nightclub with multiple floors. Always a blast! Ive seen some great DJs here - Chainsmokers, Matoma, Cookie Monsta & Doctor P, and many more (we do a lot of open-bar events at Necto through the Ross School of Business as full-time students).Even more important than that? One night I lost my wallet there and one of the owners (Nick) was very kind and prompt in coordinating a time for me to pick it up, everything intact. Lot of respect for this place after that - it is not only just another fun club with great shows, but a respectable and caring staff/ownership - that makes all the difference in customer satisfaction and repeat business!Look forward to coming back sooner than later.

Im not really crazy about this place. Its better than the rest of the college nightclubs (hence the two star rating), but thats a really low bar. The music playlist could be way better and I often get bored because of that. Its more for college students anyways, although there are different themes each night.

Decent place to get cheap drinks and dance. Their outdoor courtyard is nice for some fresh air in between songs. Nothing special though, crowd can be rowdy at times and the dance floors can get packed! Definitely attracts a younger crowd.

Floor is obnoxiously sticky and makes it hard to dance. It also gets crazy hot in there with little air circulation. It needs an update on this.The bar tenders don’t tell you how to start a tab so that they can charge you more. Bathrooms are dirty.The upstairs room that is outdoors, super nice.

I had came here Saturday night 9/28/19 with a few girls and we overall had a pretty good time. However, we were disappointed at the way the first bartender handle a situation on the drink menu. We were handed a drink menu and decided on a fish bowl and he told us it was $15 and we pointed in the book and said no the book says $13 he continued on to tell us that they were going to be getting new menus and that it was $15. That is false advertising. Price changing should not be in until new menus are in. Common law fraud. You could be sued for that. In the future Id suggest that your employees do not argue with your customers.

Necto is incredible. It has adapted incredibly to every wild theme that my MBA class could come up with and it has some of the best staff in Ann Arbor. Also, I lost my keys in October and literally, the manager Scot held on to them until I returned in freaking April. I love this spot. Ive never gone and not had a good time. I would definitely recommend it if you are visiting Ann Arbor.

I went specifically for a drag show on one of their Pride Nights. The staff were all very courteous and bartenders were always quick to serve drinks. Cheap booze and decent music were a plus, but the DJ needs to learn to adjust levels on the fly. The little performance area was wonderful and the local queens were fantastic, friendly and fun to watch. Would easily recommend coming here for Friday night events at least.Note that this was in the off-season when far fewer students were around, so I dont know how rowdy it gets during the school year or how the crowd is on the other nights.

I went lastnight! PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD WHEN YOUR AT THE BAR . They say you have to have a $10 minimum when using it and they encourage you to open a tab. My drinks came to$12.34 and that’s what I signed for on the receipt when I closed my tab... I came a total of three different times for drinks before I closed my tab! And I knew how much my tab was before I told him to close it out! The next day I check my bank account and He charged me $25.00!!! That’s $12.66 more than what my receipt said when I signed it.! This has happened to a friend of mine when she used her card the last time I came on my birthday! The bartenders should not be scamming people like this! They do this to people like that because they think people are too drunk enough to notice! Which I think is SORRY! Do better Necto!

Nice music and drinks but the staff is racist.

I used to love this club and have been coming here on pride night for years. I will not be returning after my experience a few weeks ago, which included being followed into the women’s bathroom by male bouncers when I shared a stall with a friend who wasn’t feeling so hot. I assume he thought we were drinking in the bathroom, but considering we are both 22 and obviously had wristbands I’m not sure what the issue would have been with that anyways. Made us extremely uncomfortable.My group all paid cover and bought expensive fishbowls. One of my friends ended up losing his ID at the club, keeping in mind he still had his wristband. Despite this he was singled out of the crowd for some reason, maybe because we were all buying/sharing all our drinks with him for his birthday. When a bouncer asked for his ID and he no longer had it EVEN THOUGH HE STILL HAD HIS WRISTBAND he was told to leave and my barely sipped on $15 drink was taken away from me?? I literally do not understand. He obviously couldn’t have gotten into the club on the first place if he wasn’t of age. We are regulars to this establishment and though I’ve had issues with the bouncers being extra in the past, this was truly unacceptable all around and we are done with this venue.

I planned an event for over 600 people at Necto and it was the easiest, most seamless experience! Necto staff are incredibly professional, timely, and took care of everything for me so I could enjoy the event. This is my third time working with them for large scale events and I cant recommend them enough! Great space, great staff, and fantastic bartenders.

By far, one of the best venues that Ive seen a small concert at. Every single staff member was super friendly & professional. Dave, the VIP guy is amazing! We have been hosting our annual Halloween party here for years and they always do a fantastic job. Very easy to work with, great decorations and drink ideas and very trustworthy. They made it easy for us to find a DJ and the made the process very seamless. Would recommend for large events!

Three saturdays in a row, they find one reason, every time, to not let me take my friends in. Youd think me driving 30-40+ min or money on an uber to come enjoy a night with my friends would be possible. Havent even gotten in yet to see if its nice or not. They wouldnt even look at my I.D.

Horrible club. The bartender seemed like an ok guy. We were there during their hash bash celebration. Private party in the downstairs area when I offered to take photos the bartender said that would be great. Got approval to get my camera and do some shooting. After returning and setting up some test shots. Some random guy pulls me to the side threatens me. Says I wasn’t going to give them the photos. The bouncer bartender and even the club must have been covering their own mistake because they acted like I snuck the camera and myself into the venue. Which was total lie they were patting everyone down. Long story short they intimidated me into deleting my cards. And then told me I had to leave but could come back in if I paid another entry fee. Horrible business people. I wouldn’t recommend working with this club full of thugs to anyone. I wish I could leave no stars. Horrible experience

A nice nightclub... before the creeps get there. As a student, I came here a good number of times and mostly enjoyed myself. Prices arent bad, especially if you can get free cover. There are a good variety of nooks are crannies in the club to hang out with friends or listen to different types of music. The theme nights are great. However, if you are on the main dance floor (especially) there are guys who dont respect boundaries and will grope women and not let them go. As a result of this, despite my straight orientation, I ended up coming only on gay night.

Necto is one of my favorite places just to go relax with friends at. A+++

Two older handicapped women. Made a date here, not knowing the place... My gf is a wheelchair bound vetran. With a snap of the fingers, a bunch of burly guys appeared and carried her up the half dozen flights of stairs in a heartbeat. Kept an excellent eye on us all night, and carried her all the way back down; no muss, no fuss. Excellent, excellent staff!!Everyone we met was polite and interesting. Wonderful time. Highly recommended.

Went last night and an amazing time. Spent many hours dancing and had fun. The service was nice and the drinks were outstanding. Get the fishbowl. Only complaint was how warm it got there so make sure to dress accordingly.

This is hands down the worst venue Ive ever been to in my life. They dont even have a screen. 0 visiuals. Super small, terribly designed. I will never go back to this place and I highly recommend that you dont waste your time visiting this trash.

She even caught him in the ladies room looking through the stall door and shining his flashlight in it when she was using the bathroom! Ladies, be wary if you ever consider stepping foot in this place!

So much fun! Loved the dancing and had some delicious pineapple juice, too! No one there knows how to dance so if you are a newb, you have nothing to fear. Wish they played heavier techno.

I went to the bartender and asked for a glass of ice water towards the end of the night. She told me they only had bottled water and that it was $2, no problem I handed her my card because I had no cash. She then told me it was a ten dollar minimum. I’m not paying $8 for a bottle of WATER. Its really irresponsible for a business that serves alcohol to make it so difficult for your customers to get water. On top of that the bartender was RUDE. No wonder why Necto hasn’t been the number one club in Ann Arbor for years.

I love the drag shows on pride night and the drinks are good. 3 stars because the bouncers are rude and seem to have zero knowledge on de-escalating an issue.

Update 10/10/18Took a break from Necto and now just started going back for pride night to see my favorite drag queens. I go right as doors open so the line isnt long at the door and bar. Bar service was awful though. It took forever to cash out. Do not open a tab here.(Original post 2014) I will never go here again. The security guards took advantage of their positions and harmed my friend. We were just trying to get up the busy stairs and one of the men thew their arm out in front of me. My friend took his arm and placed it between me and security guard. The guard threw him against the wall and pinned him to it. My friend and I were not harming anyone and they took advantage of us. They took my friend and held him in a defensive hug position. They were telling us to leave but we couldnt since they were not letting us go. I told them to back off and that we were leaving. They werent listening and didnt let us go until they threw us out the door. It was completely wrong of them to do that when we agreed to leave in the first place.

Fantastic music and people. A/C keeps you cool on the dance floor and the drinks are reasonably priced. Factory Mondays are a blast!

This is my favorite place to go in Ann Arbor on a Monday night. They play industrial and drumnbass on Mondays and there is a primarily goth/punk/queer crowd. Great drink specials, and you should get a fish bowl at least once.

High class service at a high class venue. Tons of options on many different nights to suit your tastes. From college night to hosting some of the worlds biggest and hottest DJs, Necto definitely never ceases to impress me. Ive gone to many many venues and have had varying experiences at all of them, but Necto ALWAYS consistently delivers to meet or even exceed my expectations. The atmosphere is always intimate and inviting; the music is always on point with a sound system that is one of the loudest Ive heard (Ive even seen them bring in MORE speakers for big shows which truly makes it an amazing experience in such a close knit venue); the bar staff can pour all types of drinks and they even sell a good variety of micro brew beers! Bouncers control the crowd and are very quick to put out any fires that may come up, but Ive found this to be quite rare. Overall, Id have to rate Necto as one of Metro Detroits BEST Nightclubs to attend. I always make it a point to stop in when Im in town.

Its Necto. Pricey drinks, adequate music, a bit low-brow but hey, its what downtown has when youre looking to get somewhere with moderate cover and clientele. Make sure to look up the theme of the night online before you go out though - of note, Monday is more heavy and hardcore and bass-driven music, Thursday and Saturday are top 40s, and Friday is LGBTQXYZ+ night, but thats at the time of this review, it definitely changes occasionally.

I just want to give a warning out to any females going to this club! They do not care about your well being. A man harassed me and put his fingers inside of me, my mom being with me because it was my bachlorette party witnessed this action and throat punched the guy who did it. So instead of calling the cops, the bouncers told my mom they were going to press charges against her unless we leave the nightclub. SERIOUSLY!! They made us all leave, including the guy who did it. The only protection we got, was 1 bouncer who walked us back to our bus. DO NOT GO HERE!

Huge club, the lgbt+ nights are Fridays

I enjoy the music and dance floors. However, the bouncers were rude and presumptuous. They tried kicking my boyfriend out because he handed me my ChapStick on the dance floor, ( Im guessing they assumed it was drugs?) But regardless, they did not handle it properly. Also, I cant stand that they wont give you water! I had to fill up my cup in the bathroom because the bar refused to serve me a cup of water when I was on the verge of dehydration. Definitely needs improvement!

Was told by a bartender the drink I ordered was was six dollars and was charged over ten(only founder out when I got the bill after 4 drinks). The dance floors smell like BO in a major way. Bad music. 1/5 save your money and time.

Dance Club - This club has been here for ages and it is (almost) a staple of the city. It gets crowded easily, but it offers a pleasant atmosphere and pretty good music (there is a theme for everyone).

Friendly staff and clean environment. Felt safe and welcomed.

Fun place for the occasional visit. Different nights with different themes to fit whatever suits you best.

This place literally doesnt have free water. Like really? Its 130 degrees on the dance floor and you dont give your guests water?! Incredibly irresponsible.

This place is disgusting. Full of underage people drinking. When I say underage I mean like 15-16 year olds. And creepy ass 50 year old men buying drinks for them. I am in my mid 20s and I felt too old being there. If you have had any sort of moral upbringing you wouldnt enter this place ever. I was appalled by what I saw.

Pride Fridays are where its at. Good people, good drinks, no drama. Bouncers are always watching out for B.S. and dont tolerate crap, resulting in a fun experience without worrying about safety.Make sure to go to NYPD pizza afterwards!

This club was by far the worst I have ever been too!!!!!!! If you want to have a good time I would visit any other place in Ann Arbor but this one. I dont know where to start from the horrible bouncers that harass people as they walk by, to paying for a so called VIP booth to find out half our party couldnt get in. You ask why they couldnt get in? I will tell you it starts with the bouncers that turn away people for wearing collard shirts and khaki shorts which was one excuse of many....... They will discriminate against anyone and wont think twice about turning down money... They must be a top notch establishment one might try to say!!! no, not really at all... Everything in that night club was far from being top notch.. fortunately there are many other options that actually are top notch where everyone can have a good time but can only be accomplished at any place but this one.

Necto is exciting if youre under age with a fake ID or if you just turned 18 and have never been to a club. But once youve gone to other places and done other things, you realize how truly whack the place is. Each night has different themes but if you ask me, every night should be called creeper night. It is creeper city in there! Its an 18 and up club yet you have 35 yr old hairy drunk men everywhere trying to grab on you. If you want to try and avoid creepers, go on Thursday when there are less of them...but chances are you will still get pulled aside and asked to dance by someone twice your age. Beware.

The dj is AWFUL. Like horrible. Security and staff do not care at all about the young women there. Im 19 and was approached by a 40 year old man who would not take no for answer. When I went to the security for help he ignored me. This will definitely be a one time thing

One of the coolest nightclubs in the Ann Arbor/ Detroit area and a must see on Mondays for lovers of Goth/EBM/Industrial music as the DJs are awesome! Great drinks and prices that will not break the bank. This club has something for many lifestyles whether gay or str8!

Where we go when were in town looking to meet fun people and have a great night.

One of the few places where Ive met cosplayers and steampunks. Ive always tipped the downstairs bartender well and never had a problem with him or any other staff. If people fall on the dancefloor, they dont stay down long because others will quickly help them up. I exclusively go on Monday nights (Industrial), so I cant speak for any other theme night. I love the various theme nights like Goth Prom and Halfway to Halloween.

Been racially profiled 2 weeks in a row. with only white people who kept being served. last week i was kicked out - i wasnt mad, i was stumbly and it was 15 min before 2 so w.e. seemed like the guard was bored. this time all the white ppl i was with were drunk af and kept being served and i was pulled aside and told why i wasnt allowed to drink anymore by a security guard. i do not know what the problem is here, but im seriously pissed off. i did nothing wrong. like actually. im fully aware of everything i did tonight and nothing merited this treatment.
