This ride is awesome! It is very different from traditional Disney ride! You will be divided in to a group of six people. In each group, there will be two pilots, two gun-men, and two engineers. Gun-men and engineers are relatively easy to do. All you need is to focus on every button that is flashing, and press all those buttons. Gun-men have basically two main buttons to play with (to shoot), while engineers have a few more buttons (to fix the ship, but less frequent to see flashing light)Pilots are more important (and difficult, especially the left pilot). Pilots are responsible for the stability of the spaceship. Listen to the instructions carefully and respond (drive) correctly. DO NOT frequently shake the joystick (which control direction) or you will have a very shaky flight! If you stay late, it is also a good spot for viewing fireworks outside millennium falcon.Enjoy and may the force be with you!

This was like a dream come true, being able to fly the Millennium Falcon! Its incredibly immersive and so much fun if youre with friends together.Just warning you, the lines will be very long. Our longest wait was 95 minutes, then our second attempt was 55 minutes. Im also very upset that theres no fast pass yet, or magic hour access. I hope that changes soon. :(Seeing the Falcon sitting there is surreal. You really feel like its there and youre ready to fly.

This was the first ride I went on when I went to Disneyland the line was super long, but totally worth it, however I went on it again later in the day and the line was only about 15 minutes. The first time I went on the ride I got the right pilot role. The second time around I got left engineer. The pilot role is definitely the most fun, you feel more like you are in control even though much of what you see seems to be scripted, but the best part is you at least have something to do the whole time. With the engineer role all you do is press some buttons and switches a few times, and it seems to be similar with the gunner role. But even if you have one of the othe roles the rides is very fun. Hopefully you get in a group with people who want play along more then filming the ride. I didnt have to deal with that but I hear its really annoying.

For not being a Star Wars fan this ride is cool. Only down fall is that it does not have a Fast Pass option for it at the moment. The line does go by a little faster then the displayed wait time so it is not that bad. We try.to go on this at least once everytime time we go. Try to get the pilot spot because you actually fly this thing. All the gunner and engineer do is push a button so its not as interactive as the pilot spot.

Wow wow wow wow wow. I’m a converted Star Wars fan now. This ride is so immersive and the experience of actually having an impact on the outcome is so fun. They do a great job at keeping you busy by making part of the wait a “waiting room” area. Highly recommend doing single rider- I waited 20 minutes on a busy day.

Overall:The ride is mediocre. It feels like a slightly better version of star tours. For your first experience, you will want to stare at the screen. There is a lot going on so just enjoy the moment and not try to do everything. If you crash, you crash. Riding with friends is much better than in a small group. The vehicle rides 6 people.Roles:The cast member will assign you a roll. If you ask nicely, they may allow you to be whatever role you want to be. Being the engineer is pretty lame. You feel like you have to watch the buttons all the time, but dont. Just watch the screen and when you here the buttons. Press it. You dont get penalize for hitting other buttons on accident. The pilot is probably the best seat. There are 2 pilots. One that goes up and down. While the other pilot goes left and right. The gunners have the most work. Every bullet counts so dont shoot randomly.Seating:All the seats are made the same. The engineers are able to see everything, while the pilot are close to the action. The gunners are in the middle. You either sit on the left or right. Truthfully, it doesnt matter where you sit. All seats are good. The ride does tilt so they have you buckled to your seat. Dont worry, your stuff will not roll away from you.Queue Line:Queue line is nice. Majority of the line is under shade. There is an overflow in the back where there is no shade. The overflow section is like a cargo area. They have shipping crates to walk around. The rest of the queue is chill and dim. Not much interaction in the queue.

Amazing and interactive. This ride is worth all the hype. The attention to detail is astounding from the moment you enter the queue until you exit the ride. Once you are assigned to a crew of 6, you will have a short moment to wander around the interior of the Millenium Falcon. When it’s your time to fly, you will be either a pilot, a gunner or an engineer. Everyone on the flight has jobs to complete to make the mission a success. It’s like no other ride.

Loved this whole area! The ride was a lot of fun and I didn’t see this one coming. They did a great job with the ride and made it a great new experience that I haven’t had on any ride. The coolest part about this is the 1:1 ration of the Millennium Falcon that you see and you get to go inside and they did a replica of the inside! Amazing job by Disney here. The Star Wars area was just amazing in the way it made you feel like you were in the Star Wars universe. Even the coke drinks were made for the Star Wars area!

This is Disney doing what it does oh-so-well. Its a great attraction and what I would expect. The que is full of Easter Eggs and perhaps the best que Ive seen. Yet I found the attraction confusing and somewhat discombobulated. Six active participants assigned to the Falcons cockpit. Two participants are assigned to one off three roles - Pilot, Gunner, and Engineer. Each role has tasks to complete during the ride. I was confused and mustve looked like Jar Jar Binks. Instructions received during the mildly turbulent ride sounded like a Kowakian monkey-lizard about to lose its tiny little mind over something that seriously does not matter to any grown man having a life. Live long and prosper. Yes. I know. If one felt the need to correct me outloud, that is the noise a monkey-lizard makes. We all know that noise.

This MIGHT be my new favorite ride. If its your first time on its well worth it to go through the regular queue to see all the details and listen to the fun lines over the radio/intercom. Youll also get to see the back of the Falcon from below this way. And if youre playing the park game youll want to do this line as well. Once in you get placed into groups of 6. If you dont have 6 theyll pull from the single riders (which is why this line usually goes super fast (in the 45 mins we spent in the reg line we could have ridden about 6 times)). Youll be given a card that shows which job youll be taking. Youll be called according to the color of the card for your group. Youll line up in the order you need to enter ride. Once youre in buckle up. And just as promised, you have to work as a team to get a high score. I did find that have good mechanics will help make up for any slackers in the gunner department and really does help with the score overall. I did find myself moving in the seat a little bit so make sure your seat belt is good to go. The most important thing of all is to just have fun with it and laugh at how bad of a pilot you are!

Ride is fantastic if you are pilot. If you’re not.... enjoy pressing one button as fast as you can.Plus the pilot sits at the very front while everyone else gets to look at the back of their head while they try to fly their half of the ship. After all of the hype leading into star wars land and all of the money they spent and resources used to make such a high tech ride for it to be such a let down if you’re not a pilot. So 2/3 chance you’re bored for the ride.Once I finally got to experience the pilot seat it felt like the controls weren’t very responsive and I was just following a predetermined track anyways. So it’s kind of a toss up. Hopefully rise of the rebellion makes up for it

This wasnt a bad ride and the area you spend time waiting in is very cool, however I dont think it is worth an 80 minutes wait. The actual ride part of the attraction is so-so and I would probably only give that 2-3 stars. I found the queue and pre-show more interesting than the ride itself. There is the life size (1:1) Millennium Falcon sitting out front, the queue has quite a few things that reference the movies and t.v. shows. I thought that the pre-show where you meet Hondo Ohnaka was more entertaining that the ride itself.

The ride itself could have been awesome. If youre lucky to be selected as a pilot, you can see the actual ride, otherwise, you are supposed to look away from the front, stare to your side at your station and press the flashing buttons so the pilots can fly or the guns shoot. The layout would work better if you were to press buttons while facing forward, so you can see the actual screens while the ride goes on. If you are a pilot, the ride is a 5, if you are not, its a 2. They also miss out on having a Chewy or other interactive players in the bay while waiting for your ride.

Awesome experience! Controlling the ship reminded me of when I put Mario Kart on autopilot for my 5yr old and he thinks he’s kicking butt. After going on it 4 times each time was the same except for the first time the engineer (me) didn’t push a button at the right time and we lost a kyber crystal. Even though nearly zero skill is required for manning the falcon I was a little disappointed when I wasn’t allowed on for my 5th time due to my time slot ending. The experience is so immersive, just like the rest of galaxy’s edge it truly feels like you’re part of Star Wars. There are 6 seats each time you fly. 2 pilots, 2 shooters and 2 engineers. Single riders tend to be given the engineer role every time but you can always switch with someone before entering the cockpit.BIG TIP: during the reservations required season the new group will enter an hour before yours ends so between the 2nd and 3rd hour of your reservation it will become almost empty. This is the time to go to things that have long lines like smuggler’s run if you’re with a party (single rider is always short), the cantina and waiting for a photo from a Disney photographer.

Terrible. If the wait is over 30 minutes don’t go!! Even if you’re the biggest Star Wars fan of all time, it is not worth it!This isn’t a “ride” per say, it’s more of like a video game that shakes around. Basically, you get assigned one of three roles, before entering the ride.1. Pilot - the pilot is definitely the best role, and thus the best experience. If you get stuck with the other two, might as well exit while you can. There are two pilots, and there task is to steer the falcon, and pull the lever to go to hyperspace which is actually pretty cool. They sit in the front so that’s why it is definitely the best.2. Gunner - there are also two gunners and their objective is to literally push a button to fire and that’s it. There’s no joystick or anything to aim, it’s literally just a button. Worse than the pilot but better than the last one, since they sit in the middle.2. Engineer - oh boy. If you get stuck with this be prepared for the biggest snooze fest of your life. There are two engineers and all they do is push buttons when they light up. That’s literally it. They also push the harpoon button when prompted, which is near the end of the ride. The engineers are at the rear of the ride so the view is quite awful. It pains me to give such a negative review on this ride, since I am a huge Star Wars fan. Please, for the love of Chewbacca don’t go on this ride if the wait is over 30 minutes. It’s not worth it.

The line was pretty long, but not boring at all, as you get immersed into the incredibly realistic and detailed set, complete with animated robots from the movie. VERY fun ride! It is a motion simulation type ride with an interactive piece. Guests are either a pilot, gunman, or engineer during their ‘flight’. Wait times for this attraction are obscene because it is so new. We chose to use our “Magic Morning” early entry to the park to line up at the gates to Galaxys Edge (that land does not open during Magic Morning/Extra Magic Hour) and rush to get in line for the ride when the area opened at 8 am. We only waited in the rides line for about 30 minute, but the typical wait time is 2-3 hours otherwise.

Amazing ride, the line is entertaining. It is like an interactive star tours but you do not need glasses. The pilot job is very fun and the experience can be ruined by a poor performance of your crew. The ride is only in English and although the ride is intuitive and you just press the flashing buttons if you are not a pilot. A bad crew or bad pilot can ruin the whole experience. People need to press the buttons to fire harpoons and if they don’t it ruins the flow of the ride. Along with this if you pilot doesn’t fly they make the ride shake and it’s no longer fun. When your crew is competent it is very fun. Along with this once you’ve left the ride the voiceover of the hallways will change if your crew performs well or bad and the lighting will change as well. Very immersive and fun.

I liked this ride, in general, but not a favorite of mine. Based on the rides environment, there is definitely a potential of sensory overload (loud, flashing lights) in a confined space.Additionally, I dont believe it is worth a >45 min wait. Single rider is recommended, and they are usually placed in the role of the engineer on the ride.

This ride is a lot more fun when you are in a group of 6 or a group dividable by 6. Then at least the whole ride is with people you know, which is a fun video game. However even then only the pilots really have the most fun. Everyone else you have to make the choice between doing your job or watching the ride. Maybe when the after ride interaction happens the ride will be more fun but right now it is a one and done experience for me and my wife unless we are with a large group.

This is an amazing ride with amazing animatronics in the queue and the attention to detail is amazing when it comes to bringing this world to life. The actual ride though is less than spectacular. Unfortunately reminded me of a 6-person Star tours. There are requirements of each Rider. Some who are not familiar with the ride can make it frustrating for seasoned riders or gamers. I do like the idea that they made this ride more interactive however I think they missed the mark because the ride is just not that dynamic. Would you be honest I could hardly tell if I was moving. Star tours itself is much more exhilarating. You dont know how much this pains me to say these things because I am a lifelong Star wars fan and have been waiting for this my whole life. The reason why it gets a 4-star rating is based on the physical appearance of everything. Its still does invoke a feeling of Joy but after the ride is over it seems as though it leaves you hanging.I did have the opportunity to write it three times and was able to write e in each position pilot Gunner and engineer. I have to say the funnest position is probably the Gunner. Hopefully there is a way for them to increase the intensity of the ride in the future. Otherwise I think this will be a one and done ride for future visits. What I would really like to see is the opportunity to free-fly the millennium falcon during special Star wars after hours events or something like. If youre not a Star wars fan then I dont think that it will have the pull to bring you back for repeat rides.and even for me a die-hard Star wars fan I would not stand in line for more than 45 minutes to see this attraction.

We are Disney fans and pass holders so one can argue bias. That said, Galaxys edge is a great immersive experience, keeping you off world and forgetting you just left Disneyland. Smugglers run is a good ride. It responds to input so it can range from 2 to 10 (I heard) minutes. Be ready to take pics just before you board; a new concept instead of being in line till you board the Falcon.

Ja
Review №50

The wait in line was the best part, hence the extra star. Once boarding, there is no time for a photo by the game table unless you are in the pilot role, and then we sat in the back in the engineer role and watched another group of adults pilot the Falcon. My super-excited 9 year old didn’t even get to see the controls and kept asking what we were supposed to do, to which I didn’t know the answer. What fun is it waiting all that time to watch a group of adults pilot the plane and shoot stuff while you sit in the back with your kid and push buttons that have no consequence? I generally don’t care about rides and have never felt emotional after one (good or bad) but you can’t help but feeling really let down after this one. This was the biggest, and only, disappointment at Disneyland and while it is just a ride, it really soured the Star Wars experience to the point where my son lost interest in the rest of the attraction.

Luckily I got to be the second pilot and “control” the aircraft going up and down. You’re actually controlling it too! As soon as our aircraft took up...or the ride began, my eyes started hating me. I had an instant headache. I was focusing so hard on flying and moving the aircraft up and down that I think it helped me not get sick. However it’s definitely a ride to go on! At least once. Jan 23-26, 2020 - Disneyland California. To begin with, I am not a huge fan of being put in a box and shaken around while being shown a movie (you can get the same experience in a shopping mall!) Not only does the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride do this, it also invites you to frantically, and ineffectively, hit a bunch of buttons, which is only slightly less annoying if youre in the front seats. The walk-up is just ok, and the briefing is disappointing - the story is convoluted, the characters are hardly iconic - Chewbacca barely makes an appearance. Wheres Han? Or even Lando? Sitting at the chess table before you go in is probably the coolest part, would be better with holograms. Overall Star Tours is better visually as a shaky box experience and Astro Blasters is more fun as a shoot em up.

Fun idea, but execution could be better. I think they shouldn’t let kids younger than 8 drive because our driver just yanked the flight stick around and our gunners where just sitting there thinking that this ride was predetermined. Made me and my sister very motion sick. If they could put an override on for little kids or an easy mode on assignments that little kids are controlling. Just so they feel like they are helping because in honesty letting a 6 year old yank the flight stick around is not a fun time. Great idea with a lack of foresight when it comes to kids in the pilot and gunner seats:/

I hate how much it pains me to complain about a Star Wars ride! It didn’t have to take much to satisfy me especially since you pilot the Millennium Falcon, but it’s really not great. We waited around an hour and 15 minutes. At least they made it super interesting to walk through. The attention to detail outside the ride is awesome. That’s a good start with one star. After that, it was .... just weird. There is a point in the line you reach a room where you are told you are now a smuggler crew of the Falcon and you are basically going to smuggle some stuff. You then walk into the Falcon which is pretty awesome but then you are given a job on a little handout card. My wife and I were pilots, which apparently, (according to our shipmates) was the only job worth doing. The gunners and engineers get a crumby view and basically busy work while the pilots fly. Not fully understanding we actually had to attempt to effectively “fly” (one pilot controls up and down and other controls left and right) we did our best to guide the flight while getting instructions yelled at us by the engineers which apparently had ridden before. We did ok, but with a bit of planning, might have done a tad better. Unfortunately the screen is very disorienting and has weird resolution, so we both felt a bit queasy after the ride. I do not get seasick ever so this was a bit of a shock to me.Unless you are a DIE HARD Star Wars fan, do yourself a favor and see star tours and visit literally any other successful ride in Disneyland. And for all the fans, all the possibilities this ride had, they failed to make the Kessell run in even 20 parsecs and blew up with the cargo.... I could not imagine it being much more disappointing.

I have to admit. When I first entered Star Wars Land, I was very surprised how accurately detailed the land was compared to the actual Batuu. So, after walking and taking a few pictures in the area, we decided to go ride the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride. The wait was currently 120 minutes at that time, so, we thought that we wait it out since they don’t accept FastPasses for the ride. But, here’s something I would recommend doing: Use the single rider line even if you’re together with a group. The vehicle holds 6 people, and you’re more than likely to get together with your group because of how much seating there is. My friend and I did this trick, and it made our 120 minute wait a 10 minute wait! We even got to meet a few friends in the single rider queue. I was the gunner, and my friend was the engineer. But overall, the ride was very fun and will be looking forward to riding it again (single rider) with my group of friends!

The ride was disappointing. Expected a better experience for such a great concept. Hard to watch the ride if you are shorter and sitting in the back.

Very nice new star wars attraction. Its a team play ride, very thrilling and exciting and the new Play app from Disney can make the long queue a bit fun.

I. Love. This. Ride. It was the first thing I did when I entered the park at 8:00. Then the second thing, and the third. I keep coming back. Heavily suggest to any one who loves starwars, or even just action.

Only fun if you are in the pilots position. Otherwise, the gunner and engineer positions basically just have you push flashing buttons, making you miss what is happening on the screen. My biggest issues though is that the graphics are awful, and there originally were supposed to be multiple paths or missions you can take. The graphics look like something out of a Playstation 2, very fake and rough. I thought it would look realistic like Star Tours. And with the mission being the same every time, you really just sit there and go through the same meaningless storyline of obtaining Coaxium. For what?? The Star Wars universe is so rich and full of storyline, you could visit so many planets or fight infamous villains, or find yourself in the middle of some awesome spaceship battles, but all you do is go get this material in order to obtain credits which dont even mean anything when you get them. You hyper speed to a planet, launch missiles at a train carrying Coaxium, crash land, start back up, and fly back to the station, and thats basically it. The theming of the line is the only good thing about this ride. If they up the graphics and add different missions and paths, then this ride would be at least bearable to wait 30-45 minutes for. As of right now, its an outdated, underwhelming waste of space, and a fail on Disneys end.

Once you get over the glossy star wars look, youll find this ride isnt all that great. Yeah, thanks for brining it out but unless youre the lucky one to draw the pilot or co-pilot card, youll wish you could just go back into the loading area and look more around.

Great place to be, in a land far far away. Millennium Falcon rose is arcade style. Some people may get motion sickness. No Star Wars branding except on shopping bags.

Completely lame. Did single rider to skip the 110 minute wait. Was assigned engineer (back seat of three rows). Couldn’t watch the screen due to trying to hit buttons.Learned that watching the screen got me motion sick and also learned that the ride is pre-determined. Has senior citizens in the pilot and totally baffled with what to do....still succeeded with our quest. Star Tours is better.Walked the area at night and the new world is very cool, but complete failure on the ride. Try again.

Waited in line for 90 minutes. Incompetent pilot meant we died almost immediately. Couldn’t see a thing on the screen from the back. 90 minute wait to press a flashing light. Plays like a bad video game.

Its not worth the wait and the hype. I was the copilit and spent the entire ride being screamed at. Extremely disappointed. The ride itself is not great either

Lets be honest here. Its a 4 minute video game, so pretty disappointed. Disneyland/world is for rides not video games.

Be prepared to embark on a space journey. Play chess with your friends on deck. And navigate a ship crew to intercept a delivery for Hondo Onaka. Really fun and worth the wait, fastpasses were not available when I went - July 30, 2019

As a huge starwars fan I was so gravely disappointed. Its not worth a wait over 20 mins, let alone and hour. The ride expects you to be in charge of a control panel where you have to press a certain pattern of buttons is to your left BUT the screen is up in front if you. So youre either failing your mission by not pressing your buttons or youre not looking at the screen. Startours is a million times more immersive despite the fact that the newer ride seemed to try and capture an immersive experience. ALSO this ride does not feel like a starwars ride. Chewy is the only recognizable character and isnt even shown as youre on the ride. It just feels like youre in a random spaceship. It felt as if it were designed by people who vaguely knew what starwars was. I was so dissatisfied a d disappointed by a ride I expected to exceed what had already been done before. Rides much older than this one offer a better experience that worth your time. The land itself is definitely one of the most beautiful things Ive ever seen. The rest of the land offers so many different activities and experiences that will leave a lingering feeling of excitement and awe. The ride is not worth the hype.
