This is a awesome ride, the length of this ride makes it so much better than other rides. A 5 star rating of course.

The ride this replaced was some Hollywood limo ride. Absolutely horrible. Basically a walk through a wax museum. Since this is basically the same ride, it does better by having a franchise movie associated with it. And because it has recognition power, all the scenes and attention to detail really shine. I like going through the ride and seeing all the detail. Especially the sushi restaurant.

Family pass purchased on groupon -- half off and perfect for the toddler set. Go for a walk around Lake Merritt or to the Grand Lake Farmers Market, then come to Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! to run down the astroturf hill, ride the jolly trolley, and the carousel, and a long nap is guaranteed.

This is a really fun ride in California Adventure! Its a more relaxed ride so its a good one to do in the middle of some of the more intense rides. Lots of detail is in it, and the characters are all really well put-together and interesting. There are lots of great rides in this park, and this is one of them! Recommend for the entire family!

Great ride for the kids. Line can get long but music from the movies play in the background. This is a definite must!

A 3 day hopper is by far the best way to enjoy Disneyland and California Adventure! The happiest place ever!This Monsters Inc. ride was really cute! Our family just enjoyed all the rides!! We are already planning a return trip and staying longer so we can actually have some time to relax and just gather as a family. Our recommendation would be to do 1 day at Disneyland, family day, California Adventure, family day, Disneyland, family day and then all the favorites or shows you missed at either park on this last day.For a family of 13, an itinerary(kudos to my daughter in-law who did alot of homeworkto make a plan of action) and although we didnt follow it exactly, it was a huge help especially when it came to obtaining fast passes for the rides and shows. Having the Disney app and paying for a max pass is a plus when theres only a few of you. However, multiply that cost 13x for 3 days...so yes, the fast passes in this instance were more feasible. Heres our fabulous itinerary...maybe itll inspire you to make one for yourselves! Enjoy the happiest place on earth!

It may be simple but I love this ride. I love the theming of the queue and I love the animatronics! The room with all of the doors over your head really makes you feel like you walked into the movie screen.

Entertaining, slow-moving rail car ride with quality Monsters Inc designs and animatronics. Great attraction for Monsters Inc fans and kids.

I love Monsters Inc. and this ride is a ride through the movie. All your favorite characters are there and you get to see them all the way to the same ending.There are some cool effects including the door room and having Roz talk to you at the end is always fun.Its hooded at the back of the lot so it is rarely busy. The ride is a good way to get out to the heat & sun in a hot day.

Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! was a ride that we visited later in the day. Although the line was probably longer than 20 minutes, we were still able to be in air conditioning. Besides all that, the ride was really relaxing, and I was able to film on it unlike most of the other rides we rode. I am definitely coming back when I revisit this park!

Fun family ride at California Adventure. The smells in the restaurant and the ride are perfect. They capture all the best parts of the movie.

This is one of my favorites, we only waited 10 minutes but the line went fast we got really cool pictures in line cause there was really cool stuff around us :) Great job Disney

This ride does an incredible job of capturing the lovable monsters of Monstropolis. What could be better than helping Mike and Sully save Boo? Fantastic ride.

This ride is bonkers, its always a short wait and its a decent ride.

Basically the movie as a ride. For kids, but lots of details keep things interesting.

The riding experience with this attraction is always desirable with short line times as well as a diverse level of entertainment displayed. The homage to details in the movie are accurately reflected while providing a fresh presentation of the film without prior watching.

Why do we not have this ride at Disney World? This is a fun dark ride with very little wait time in line.

If you dont feel like watching the Monsters Inc. film you can ride this dark ride instead. Its pretty terrible and it appears that Disney had a budget of $5 to design and build it... but considering the ride before it was substantially worse I cant say too many bad things. In all honesty, this ride is just a quick fix to the infamous Hollywood Limo created by the good ol Michael Eisner.

Some rides you say, wow! Others you say, wow, how did this ride get made? Yeah, this is one of the latter. It covered the movie in linear fashion with zero thrills. Go around the corner and talk to Crush.

If you are looking for a ride to go on with the little ones this is the ride to go on. If you are a thrill seeker, skip this ride. My baby enjoyed the ride and thats all that matters.

With knowing that you are always going to wait in a line, this ride was very well done. The artistry and graphic design of each room was fantastic and on point. Then factor in the smell of ginger in the restaurant and this ride exceeded my expectations.

Ok ride I think its about time this gets replaced.

This is a fun ride for kids of all ages. Even the line to get in is entertaining with a lot of fun things to see along the way. My family loved this ride and we went on it a number of times.

This is a cute dark ride with a fun plot. Its hidden over in Hollywood Land towards the edge of the park. The queue has some fun posters and other props. The cars themselves can fit 4 (2 people per row). The lines are usually not too long, and theres a lot to look at once youre inside, including some funny moments. Very family friendly. Would recommend watching Monsters, Inc. first. Seeing Monster U would be good too.

We love this ride. We ride it at least two times every visit and it never gets old.

It is a very nice premium hotel but I think a nice premium hotel you would think that they would figure out a way to keep the noise from the hall from coming into the room. The bed was nice and comfortable the sheets and bed coverings were soft . The staff was courteous and responsive. Overall it was a great experience.

Fun ride and VERY handicap accessible. Son has medical stroller and fit perfectly on the handicap cab for the ride. Cast members were both understanding and helpful. Fun ride too! Great for fans of the movie or general Disney fans.

Disney is so impressive with their rides that even these kids rides will have adults laughing. Its perfect for little ones whove seen the movie. The end of the ride is great too, with Roz making a comment relevant to each car that passes. Great job Disney.

This ride is for anyone that loves Monsters Inc! Kid friendly, for children of all ages. The lines are sometimes long, but move quickly. The cast members are pleasant. A must ride every time we go to California Adventure.

This ride is super cute. One of the rides that a toddler will enjoy as well. Nothing scary and doesnt go fast. My 2 year old loved it!

Its a fun ride with some moderate wait time. My family and I came to California Adventure Park and after a few rides my family and I decided to come here it was closed because some maintenance was going on, so they told us to come back later. We went to meet Groot outside of the Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout ride, and that took about twenty minutes. We then came back to the ride and it was open!! The walk to get to boarding is fun and you get to see ads that would be in Metropolis. The right itself is very fun and is a fun way to relive Monsters Inc. If youre in California Adventure Park I recommend going here.

Love this adorable dark ride. It actually manages to take you through the entire film. Very delightful, with fun sent additives for a 4D experience. Quick Tip: Taller than 510, ask for the front, it has more leg room, well worth the short wait.

The ride itself is very cute and the line has some entertaining videos and decorations like you are in the Monsters world waiting for a cab or transit. Towards the end of the ride, Roz can interact with you. My sister took a picture and she commented on it. Super unexpected and fun.

Great ride with neat animatronics, music, sounds, smells and story! We love the monsters inc movie so this is so fun for my young daughter to ride on. On busy days this line gets pretty long but it does move quickly. We try to go each time we are here... We especially love Roz at the end with her funny comments.

Just like we were in the movie it self. What a wonderful ride

Its true, its the little attraction that could. Placed in the Hollywood Backlot of California Adventure, it really is the only reason why the Hollywood Backlot is somewhat busy. The attraction is a typical Disney dark ride and follows the plot of the movie almost scene for scene. The queue is shaded and the indoor queue is air conditioned and modeled after a transportation center. A lot of easter eggs and monster puns. The ride itself is cute and the kids will get a kick out of it. A lot of easter eggs and hidden gems within the ride. Sharp eyes will spot a lot of details. Typical wait time is 10 to 45 mins depending on day and season. Its worth going and checking out.

I love the Disney story rides, and I love monsters Inc, so I expected to love this ride. Sadly, it just felt like it was lacking and uninspired. My kids, also big monsters fans, thought it was the least fun ride they went on at California adventure. Maybe it plays better to the younger children (my kids were between 7 and 11) but my kids were upset they spent any time at all in the line for that ride, even thought it was fairly short.

Fun ride but the line can be long due to the loading and unloading of guest.

Great ride but hidden in the back with a lazily decorated exterior.

Its fun for young riders, not really scary at all for 3-4 year olds. As a newer ride its got nice animatronics and effects and a fun personalized bit at the very end for one person in the taxi. If youre older and dont adore monsters Inc, you may want to skip it if the line is longer than 15 minutes. If you have young riders (preschool - Grade 1) its probably worth it.

Good ride for younger kids. Still enjoyable as an adult. The wait isnt bad because of the humorous decorations.

Turn the dang sound down. I cant hear worth a darn and even I thought it was too loud. I cant imagine what folks with good hearing are thinking when they ride this...though if they ride it often enough I dont think theyll have to worry about having good hearing anymore.

Longer ride and not really interactive but it is inside with AC so that is a huge plus. The line moves fast but can backup. Youll follow the storyline of Mike & Sully getting Boo back home to her door.

The kids needed a breather from Guardians of the Galaxy... This was a fun ride.

Cute ride that has constantly moving lines. I was able to go along with my group of five. Up to six people can go on a single car.

Its a quick ride to the monsters Inc world. Great for kids. For adults its a good rest stop

The ride itself is a fine example of a Dark Ride, however its location in nearly constant direct sunlight has resulted in the colors of the facade becoming extremely washed out over the years. Definitely could do with a new paint job, and perhaps an updating of the story to take plots from the prequel into consideration.That said, the Roz animatronic at the end is one of the most entertaining experiences in both parks. Roz often singles out a single person on your vehicle and says something clearly decided by a ride technician who is paying attention Young lady in the 3rd row, I love your hair!

One of my favorite rides on the DCA side. The theme and decorations are awesome! My favorite part of this ride is the Japanese Restaurant/Noodle House. Love it!!

Great ride if you love the Monsters, Inc franchise. You get to ride in a monster Taxi and see scenes from the movie recreated with some pretty great animatronics. Loved the Door Room!!!

Pleasantly surprised by this ride. It follows the classic Disney ride model of sitting in a vehicle and going through a story. There is a nice suprise at the end.

This is a fun ride for kids and adults. Only downside is the queue in the sun. It would be great to have more shade of any sort.

Traditional style dark ride, one of only a couple at DCA. Retells the Monsters Inc story with a few fun surprises. Not worth an extended mid day wait - the line is mostly outside in a concrete area baking in the sun. Wait until evening when line dies down. Not quite as detailed as the classic Disneyland dark rides. Main negative is the sloooww ride system that it inherited. Remember to say hi to Roz.
