Everyone needs to take at least one ride on the Mark Twain and enjoy the river and its landscape. Crazy to think there is a river boat in the middle of LA!

They changed the ride so much that its much shorter and they dont offer the Captain s certificates anymore so that was a big letdown for the kids. It was really hot on the day we went (97 degrees) going below deck wasnt an option as it felt about 10-15 degrees hotter. The boat packs up pretty fast and spots to look around are few and far between. A bit disappointing but the kids found it kinda cool with them firing the canon and the historical tidbits...

Mark Twain is a beautiful steamboat. A great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. There are seats on the front of the boat-they go fast. LEnjoy your trip around the Rivers of America.Maybe catch a glance of the new Stars Wars land being built...Galaxys Edge. There are a lot of cool places to take photos on board. There are three decks for passengers and the pilots cabin is above the third. Im not sure if they still do it but I think they do. We were able to ride in the cabin with the pilot. My daughter even got to ring the bell. The cabin is small so you can only take 2-3 people with you. Ask one of the cast members at the loading dock if you can do it. You might have to wait for a few trips for your turn.

This was a great experience. Capt Roberto allowed my daughter to be the co-pilot on one of the cruises around Disneyland. He was kind and informative and it was a memorable experience. Thanks, Capt Roberto!

I think this is the longest ride in the park. Not wortb doing more then once. But if princess Tiana is on the boat you can get the meet and greet over too.

I love the Mark Twain. It is a beautiful paddle-wheel steam powered ship. Lots of detail all over the place, from all the wood trim to all the mechanical workings, this is a great attraction. This is a nice piece of Disneyland to photograph, especially in lower light or to take photographs from. It is nice to go on the Mark Twain to get away from the crowds in Frontier Land and New Orleans Square. I wish the journey was just a few minutes longer and that a little more seating was available. It would be awesome if they could offer dinner rides on the Mark Twain where you could enjoy a nice meal with scenic views for an hour while either slowly making your way around the rivers of America or doing laps. I will ride the Mark Twain many more times and I highly recommend.

A relaxing way to see the Rivers of America. Especially on nights when there is no Fantasmic, you can take an evening cruise. The backside of the Rivers of America was redone recently and has much more scenic views along with animatronics. Definitely a nice way to relax from the crowds.

Awesome ride... they shortened it a lil bit from previous years. But its nice to get off your feet or away from the hustle and bustle for a minute and just observe how beautiful the park is.

Such a gorgeous boat, handicap accessible, and was able to ride with Princess Tiana. Love the narration and animatronics during the ride.

A nice place most people dont realize is still open. While not operating (moving) right now, it is still open to get views/photo ops. Its got a few tables so a small group can sit down in the shade to eat a meal or just unwind for a few. On occasion, a live band will be on board and playing music.

My youngest son loved the Mark Twain ride. It took him back in time and his expression said it all a nice clam ride down the river.

If you are looking for leisurely trip around the Rivers of America, look no further. Plenty of seating and multiple levels. There is a fun narration of the displays around the river, and this authentic steamboat is one of the last operating on the West Coast. There are also fun displays to check out, and definitely worth a gander.

Often over looked but a great way to slow down and enjoy the park. A stunning photo opportunity too, both on the boat looking out and on land back at her. Shes a beauty all right.

My wife and I rode the Mark Twain Riverboat during our visit in December of 2012. We were walking up to board the boat when a Cast Member stopped us and pointed out our Just Married buttons. He asked if we would like to ride with the pilot in the wheelhouse. Of course, we accepted! The pilot was a very nice gentleman who made excellent chat with us, including asking us why we chose to visit when we did, which was during one of the busiest seasons the park experiences. We told him we didnt have much of a choice - it was the only time she and I could both get off of work, and he laughed and said he understood. He was a very lighthearted man full of laughter! He let my wife and I ring the bell and blow the whistle at a couple of points along the route. At the end, he gave us two Honorary Steamboat Pilot certificates as a souvenir of our visit. Riding in the wheelhouse is definitely a unique experience that I would recommend to anyone!

As of September, 2016, the Mark Twain Riverboat is not sailing due to the build out happening in Disneyland. However, the boat is open to visit, and youll often see characters on board. Be sure to check out all three floors, as a live band plays on the second, and there are beautiful views from the top. The boat is lovely, well maintained, and is a great place to sit and relax!

Bring your ear plugs. It was a nice hour ride, but the constant chatter from the captain ruined it. The volume on the PA was very loud and no area of the boat to get away from it. On the return trip to the dock he announced that he wouldnt be talking for the next several minutes, and the guy next to me applauded.

Ive had great experiences both times Ive been on this. The first time, I got to go up into the wheelhouse and captain the boat. Its easy to do. All you have to do is ask a nearby cast member if you can go up there. The second time I was sitting on the bottom floor looking over the edge with my friends. It was very relaxing and its fun to see all the animals and watch kids play on Tom Sawers Island.

The Mark Twain is temporally docked / not making its away across the rivers of America, as construction on Star Wars Land affects the far side of the river. in he mean time though, you can still come onboard and tour the ship. Bands perform there now and people have started bringing food and drinks onboard to eat and relax while listening to music.

This is a very fun boat to ride. I like seen the engines and mechanical parts that make the wheel move. The whole boat is very well maintained and in great condition. At times they let kids go up to the pilot room and pull the horn. the ride around the rivers of america takes you thru a historical journey and talks about different eras and areas of the country, very educational as well. I like going to the top floor at the front where you can see everything in the distance up ahead.
