This is the park I prefer to visit in Amarillo. The older trees provide nice shade and there are swings along the walking path. During the pandemic, I have noticed more people camping out in the interior of the park; I just give them their space. We have been approached by a panhandler once.On the plus side, the city has worked on the sidewalks to keep them relatively smooth so toes dont get caught moving from section to section. There is a dog park that is perfect for small dogs. There is an exercise area designed for seniors. There are picnic areas and restrooms. I have noticed the tennis courts.In short, this is a nice park in an urban area. The outer walk is quite pleasant.

Great place to have late night volleyball games.

Kudos on the city for really renovating this park! In the summer we play volleyball games there until midnight and it is comfortable, safe & clean.

Great place to take your family for a walk in the park. Small aerobic area to strengthen muscles.. the only down side is during Covid restrooms are closed 2 public.

I love this park, volleyball courts, jogging trail, only problem as of now is the grass needs cutting.

The Volleyball courts and the playground for kids is nice, but much of the area smells of urine. Lots of homeless people frequent the park so keep a close eye on your kids. And dont come at night because the park has a history of violent assaults for no apparent reason. Lots of beautiful trees in the summer and grilling areas spread throughout the park.

My friend buried his best friend here. The park is peaceful and a place to relax or to bring your dogs

We stopped here on a road trip and was pretty disappointed at the cleanliness and state of the park and grass. It felt pretty run down for us with toddlers to worry about.

? I wasnt there at Elwood Parts I was a few blocks away but not at Elwood Park so I have no idea what it is or how it is or anything

One of the oldest parks in Amarillo! Has volleyball basketball courts! Has a couple public restrooms but be careful when using facilitys because of Amarillos homeless try to use restrooms as shelter! Just be kind and nice to them and you would be surprised on how kind and nice they will be in return! Def. Bring a football to throw or practice your bating with some baseball. This park has the size to do almost anything park related.

A clean, pretty, & wide open park with plenty of activities. It does have a fair amount of homeless people, but those Ive dealt have been nice people and faithful Christians

They serve a descent meal at 500 every Sunday afternoon, and give clothes that have been donated by other churches and their members, go check it out, its worth the wait in line.

G good park close to home has a dog parking has an elderly exercise equipment so you can take your elderly grandparents out to the park also so why you walk your dog you can work out your elderly public restrooms are closed so they dont potty on themselves also has an emergency call Button in case any of your elderly get into a jam where you just cant butter am out of. also the city league basketball and volleyball play there and they have moved the playground equipment closer to the adults for better supervision against the undead wanted particulars of that particular part of town.

Relatively clean and very quiet, but there are spots where local vagrants have trashed the place and there is the occasional used needle laying around

This is an awesome park. Plenty of playground equipment, shade trees GALORE! GOOD RESTROOMS! Theres a World War Memorial statue commemorating the Vetrans of the panhandle. Only downside: The churches in and around Amarillo try to take care of the homeless, and while thats NOT the bad part; all the food and clothes thats left scattered around make the park look a little shabby, but only on Sundays when the churches are trying to feed our less fortunate brothers & sisters. Inevitably, the changing of clothing, as well as food containers end up scattered around the park. But the good people in the Parks & Recreational Dept. do a very nice job of getting it cleaned up for the rest of the week and its WONDERFUL!!

The park is nice. But it has no splash pad and its scary at night.

Nice park with gated play areas for children and dogs- not alot of water fountains as they have turned off or removed most of them. There is a low-stress excersise equipment and railing area set up for elderly people, lots of swinging benches and picnic tables, tennis courts, and a jogging track.Its also is a camp for many nomadics, so you will see signs of people living there. I tend to feel a sense of being watched while walking my dog around, and their choices in spots tends to get in the way of certain paths or tables.

I absolutely love this park. There is a cute dog park, sand volleyball courts and normal volleyball courts. I really love that the playground is enclosed so the kids cant run off into the streets. The only thing I dislike is how dirty the bathrooms are other than that its and awesome park.

Nice quiet park in Amarillo. Fun clean playground,. Sand volleyball courts and plenty of space to throw a ball around. A few people down on there luck but nothing worrisome. Bathrooms were a but worse for wear, but it is always a chance at a public facility. Episcopal Church across the street plays bells every hour which is very peaceful.

Nice large park, like the dog park and the volleyball ball and playground area. Dont leave your kids unattended because there is dangerous litter near the tables and bathrooms.

Elwood is a pretty good park. But definitely one you want to go to during the day or just before it gets dark. At night there are people that sleep in the park and it doesnt so much feel like a park then. But during the day it is a great place to walk.

Could be a nice park. Bathrooms were disgusting. How it gets more than one star is beyond me. Homeless people in abundance with discarded clothes etc everywhere. Empty liquor and beer bottles and cans. Wonder what Elwoods father would say. City should be ashamed. Do something for these poor people. Or just reassign the use of this park to a homeless camp.

Great park but people disrespect it! Such a nice park with a dog run, trails, trees, grass, kids area...big and roomy but there was unpicked up dog waste including many many piles in the dog run. Disgusting!! Whats the problem with the people here? I had to remove my dogs from this area after realizing it wasnt just a few. There are bags and trash cans provided. So sorry to see this. Hope its not always like this :(

This park is off Washington and 15th street and the City of Amarillo does a great job keeping it clean and maintained. Lots of people enjoy the volleyball courts here, I kniw the city league plays here.At the east end of the park theres a dog run and a place for elderly to play, yes that is correct, they have lots of items for the elderly, I think its awesome.Rhere are also a few historic statues theougho ut the park if your down for a short stroll.
