Just came back to the recently reopened Marcus Theaters and had a great experience with the family. Lots of measures to keep everyone safe and we enjoyed having the extra space around us. Very easy to follow the new patterns; just make sure to download the app and preorder food before the movie. Excellent service just like before. Wish more movies were headed for the big screen but in due time. Go out and support your local businesses!

Movie Tavern in Trexlertown is a great place to take the family! I went for a little date night with my youngest son. The establishment is clean, staff is very friendly, decent options for food and even drinks for the adults! Best place to combine dinner and a movie, and you cant beat a place with such comfortable recliners! I highly recommend and cant wait to go again!

$5 shows on a Tuesday. Reclining seats with surround sound and a tray a cup holder. Clean, modern, and a unique movie experience with concessions ordered from the app and brought to your seat.

It was their first weekend reopening, I was very disappointed. We purchased our tickets and food ahead and got there 30 minutes early. We still had to wait in line for our drinks even though the sign says otherwise, the ticket taker and manager says theres only one line. We were still in line when our movie started so we requested a refund and they obliged which is why I gave them 3 stars. I would recommend not only ordering ahead, but getting there really early, just in case theres a long line.

Very beautiful from the outside, cozy seats, great movie choices. Only complaint is food is pricey. Ordered a burger and soda, it was $20.42 and it was a regular sized meal. Fill up before you go.

I love it here cause me and my baby used to go here. We experienced good times here and enjoyed it very much. Food is a little expensive tho but hay its a good place.

Don’t come. It will ruin your night. If you’re not going to offer the services that are in movie Tavern offer, that should be posted on the website. You shouldn’t have to find out if you’re driving 45 minutes to get here. Then, when you tell people you’re not a real movie tavern, the manager shouldn’t act like you’re an idiot for not Magically knowing that.

Wow... first time here and I have to say its one of the coolest theaters I have ever went to. The seating is insanely comfortable. They serve great food and drinks right to your seat! The also have a lounge area and bar if you arrive early.

I love this place, it might be 5$ on Tuesday but we still spent 50$ on food and drinks, but still worth every cent.

Family night at the movies and we went to see The Joker. It was an awesome night, and awesome movie experience and an awesome theater. I loved this place because the ones we have in NYC arent as nice as this one. The ones in NYC, they serve your food during the movie and in the dark. Here, we were fortunate enough to have our foods served before the movie started so we ate in peace and comfort. The seats were really comfortable. I loved my big beer mug and I cant wait to come back for another movie night and to get me another beer mug.

This is a wonderful place to see a movie, have a chilled glass of wine, and a burger. I was given gift certificate and held onto to it for a year. I was very skeptical of eating in the theater. But it is a lavish experience. I felt like I had staff. The seats are recliners, the service is excellent, and the food is really good. Theres a buzzer you can use to fetch the server for more of anything. It is handled very nicely, without disrupting the movie. Treat yourself and I mean TREAT yourself cause its a tad bit pricey. But worth it.

Great theater. Food is suprisingly good, although a bit pricey. Seats are comfortable with a swinging tray for you food. Rhe keep they place clean, no trash or popcorn on the floors, aisles are super wide. Our food and drinks arrived maybe 20 minutes after we ordered. Its not all delivered at once though, so expect to receive it in piece mail. They also have a tavern when you walk in so you can get there early, eat and then go watch the movie. If you do order food in the theater, i would suggest getting there 30 minutes before the start of the movie. Once it starts to fill up it may take longer for your food to arrive. Definetly worth going.

****Please hit like if you like my reviews***This has got to be one of the hottest movie theaters Ive been to. It has a full bar for your entertainment before or afterwards of your movie. The checking in to a movie process is so smooth and easy. Staff is super polite and they have a full menu for your movie time. My family and I are vegan and they made us a vegan pizza.*** Which was a plusss+++. My server was super nice and I rang the button one time to get a refill and she brought the refil when she came to ask me and said I figured you wanted a refill so I just went ahead and got you the refil. She was super awesome!!! All seats recline all the way back into a bed position!!! It was a really, really nice experience... AMC use to be number one but now this movie tavern is one of the best... To top it off they have MILITARY DISCOUNT!!!! 5 STARS MOVIE TAVERN!!! The Aladdin movie is also a wonderful experience I give the movie a 3 star!!!

First time seeing a movie at this theater. Loved the ambiance and the staff that worked there were courteous and professional. The movie room was cozy and very comfortable. It was $5 Tuesday with free popcorn. A waitress attended you before the movie started and they offered specials besides the regular menu. We ordered and the bill was $15. That I wasnt happy about but the service and snacks were good. New experience but I would go again. Who can resist reclining seats and a polite waitress serving you as the movie starts! Also loved the movie!

Its definitely an awesome place to go see a movie. Very comfortable full recliners and push the button and order very good food and brought right to your seat while youre watching a movie. The movie prices are much cheaper then going to and AMC movie theater. The food is really good and reasonable. My wife and I will definitely be going back again to see another movie.

Servers and employees were nice. Very comfortable seats. However, we never received our food. With that being said, we did go on a busy Saturday night so maybe that’s why. Our very nice and helpful server refunded our money and apologized profusely. It was not her fault, the management and the kitchen are all messed up. Most of the theatre did not receive their food. I would recommend you eat somewhere else beforehand and just go to watch a movie. Or maybe try going on a slow day. I think the facility is just poorly run and understaffed. The staff seemed stressed and were always running around to make the customers as happy as they could. I would go back for their $6 student tickets on Thursdays and their $5 tickets on Tuesdays.

Our first time here and we had a wonderful time. Dinner and drinks in the lounge area before the movie which was awesome. We went on a Thursday evening and it was not busy at all. We will definitely be returning. Thank you for an awesome night out!

I read the reviews prior to going and I was expecting to either a great experience or a terrible one. I am pleased to say - it was very nice and I have no complaints. We arrived 30 minutes prior to showtime (as the website suggested) and the server took a drink order right away. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Food was outstanding and the light level was great. I could still see my food but the screen was great quality. We went on a Sunday afternoon. I would highly recomend.

I am of the age when movies meant standing in line at the ticket booth, crammed seats and sticky floors. I was pleased with the ease of purchasing tickets and reserving your seats. Our family accidentally ordered tickets for the wrong time, 100% our mistake!!! I really enjoyed this movie experience! Comfy seats that recline. I was sitting with someone in a wheelchair and they appreciated the fact that there is a table so they dont need assistance with holding popcorn or drinks.We ended up getting dinner. It is pricey but the burger he got was huge and he really liked it. I got fries and chicken fingers and Id advise to not bother with the chicken fingers. They were not very good especially for the price when there are so many better things on the menu. One I didnt eat because it had the texture of being raw (its dark so I couldnt see if it was pink but it was soft and rubbery in a weird way) The fries were really good though!If you do sit in handicap seating its a little annoying at the beginning of the movie (about 10 to 15 min) because the waiters are walking back and forth right in front of you. And talking on the side. After the food was out it settled down and I didnt have any problems. I wasnt able to see hear or pay attention to any previews in our seats either.Overall I liked it. Ill come back because my partner likes the convenience of the table and the delivery and it being wheelchair friendly.

I really, really love the seats and atmosphere. However, the food...Im was expecting better quality. The pizza?...not a real pizza. This should absolutely change. I kinda forget what else we ordered, but clearly, it wasnt memorable. Great potential, I love the concept. Also, workers didnt seem happy, Im presuming they are underpaid, and overworked. Mostly employing younger people, which isnt bad, but leaves a hole for quality control to drop. They dont understand business enough to keep up standards.

The movie was great but the service for food was AWFUL. I’ve been to other movie taverns and never experienced this issue. We ordered one meal and some snacks and drinks for 8 people and throughout the entire movie we had to wait for little things we ordered. Some guy randomly gave me nachos that I didn’t order. We got the meal pretty quickly but it was very odd. We were missing candy and they never bothered to tell us they were out. They charged us for things that we never received. Completely unbelievable! I get that this place is new but they need to improve their service quickly...

Love seeing movies here. I agree with others that the food was a bit better when they first opened, but we really can’t complain too much about the quality. Screens and sound are awesome, and the chairs are COMFY. It’s our go to movie house and I really don’t like seeing movies anywhere else.

The seats are comfortable, so comfortable that I could easily fall asleep.I have enjoyed the food. he last couple of times, they were short on waiters so ordering, receiving the order and cashing out took longer than usual so be prepared to arrive early.

What turned out to be more distracting was eating while trying to watch a movie.

Decent movie ticket prices, the food and drinks are a bit overpriced though. I really enjoyed the reclining seats and wide aisles. But the whole place was covered in popcorn, it didnt seem to be very well cleaned. I went on a weekday evening and there werent all that many people, but the place could have used a pretty thorough cleaning.I ordered the turkey wrap for dinner and had a soda, it was good, but like I said it was pricey. The bar menu was extensive and I definitely plan on trying that next time I go. I brought a coupon for free popcorn and would highly suggest finding coupons as they are easy to get and can reduce the cost of a night out.

The atmosphere is nice and overall the experience is good but they are a bit pricey. The drinks are good but be prepared to spend double what she would in most restaurants. I ordered the Grande nacho they came to me cold and Bland. They only had one waitress working the entire theater so obviously the service was slow. She didnt intentionally ignore anyone but it took forever. Luckily the management was willing to try and make it right.

There is no doubt that getting your food and drinks delivered to your seat is the best part of this theater. Even the seats are very comfortable and the servers are great. The only thing I didnt like is the sound, especially during trailers. I personally love to watch trailers in the theaters with all lights off and powerful sound. I guess this is purposely done because people were ordering food during trailers.

Just went to this theater for the first time. I dont go to theaters much anymore except for movies I dont want to hear spoilers about, like Star Wars. While I dont believe any movie is worth what theaters charge for tickets now, it was a very nice theater. Seats were comfortable. And you order food from right inside where youre watching the movie - no concession stands; theres a button where you sit and staff come to you to take your order and bring you your food. I wish you could print out tickets at home, though and didnt have to print them there, as it defeats the purpose of purchasing tickets online.

Dining and reclining while enjoying a movie, full bar and menu! On sellouts service suffers a bit, but that’s to be expected. Order at the bar before the movie to have it ready as you sit down . Fun to go with friends!

I go to the Trexlertown location all the time. The theater itself with the recliners is great but that is the only reason I keep coming back. Food and drinks usually take forever to get (30-45 minutes, sometimes longer). Also since they switched to Marcus, you can no longer just use the QR code on the app to get in. I buy tickets on the app ahead of time. Then I have to wait in another line when I get there to show them the confirmation (with people who did not buy their tickets ahead of time). Or sometimes they even make me log into the kiosk to input my confirmation code and print out tickets. What is the point of using the app. Before it was Marcus I could just scan the QR code and grab a menu. And the wait staff should have a device to scan the rewards code when ordering. Instead you have to physically write your (very long) reward ID on the check at the end (in the dark) in order to accumulate points.

This place is amazing. You pick your seats so you never have to worry about the movie being so full and getting stuck with the bad seats or trouble finding multiple seats next to each other. First and only theater Ive gone to so far that I could eat and order adult beverages while watching a movie in nice roomie recliner. No way I can go to a basic movie theater ever again. And the movie ticket prices are not much if any more then a basic theater ticket.

Movie was good but the food was over done and because the company doesnt have enough staff, the wait staff is trying to run around like chickens with their heads cut off to accommodate the customers. As most companies do, under staffed and over worked. I would hope that the staff is paid a descent wage.

Love the theater and the concept, but prices for food are just way too high, and service leaves more than a little to be desired-every time we have gone, I push the order button and it’s 30++ minute wait until someone responds, and then another crazy long wait for food to come. One time it took so long the movie was practically over by the time someone responded!!

Well worth it! Seating was spacious, food was warm and timely served and the drinks very well made.The theatre was very clean and presentable with ample lighting and sound. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and pleasant.The overall experience will make sure I go back again.

Seats were comfortable, movie screen was fine, food was mediocre and overpriced. Chicken sandwich was mostly fat and undercooked, pretzel bites tasted like they were cooked in burnt fryer oil that the kitchen should’ve changed weeks ago. Clearly trying to cut corners on the food. Family with a screaming kid in the front should have been addressed by the waiters as well, considering the kid was either talking or screaming the entire movie.

Wonderful place unless you require handicap seating, you dont get to sit with your family. Person in wheelchair gets to sit with strangers. The staff dont seem very willing to figure out a solution or they are just too dependent on the computers to tell them what to do. Very untrained and unprofessional. I definitely wont be going to a movie tavern ever again.

A great place to see big block Busters youve been looking forward to. I would recommend everyone experience wining and dining while watching a long awaited film at least once, and this is the place to do it.

Went to see SONIC and NEVER received my food but they charged us right in the beginning. Usually we dont pay our bill until the end. Ridiculous. Especially after the Avengers EndGame situation. Youd think they would learn to manage their staff and food orders better when a holiday is coming on a weekend with BIG movies being released. Makes no sense that they are this under prepared.

Server never came but saw him In the hall joking and laughing with another co worker. approached a manager for a refund and was told go to the box office.... not a hey what was wrong with your experience or an attempt to correct the situation like managers do. I’ve been to the Movie Tavern in Collegeville numerous times and never had issues. They opened a Movie Tavern in Trexlertown, closer to where I live, so my boyfriend and I decided to try that one. The first time we went there we had 0 issues. The last two times we’ve gone we were extremely disappointed with the service. I’m thinking this is the last time for a long time we’ll be going there. Both times we went 20 minutes before our movie time to ensure we’d place our food order before the movie began. Both times we sat there with our lights on, indicating we were ready to order, and no one cared to take our order. We had to stop people and ask them to take our order. The employees seem like they don’t know where they’re delivering what to. It doesn’t seem like they have a good system in place to identify what food goes to which seats. The food didn’t come to us until about half way through the movie. It just seems to me like everything at this place is in total disarray. It’s really upsetting because this place could be great if they had it properly managed. The girl in the row in front of us was on her phone constantly, video taped a decent portion of the movie on her cellphone, and was taking pictures of her drinks, all which I thought wasn’t allowed, but no one working there seemed to care. (The last 2 movies we saw were The Joker and Bad Boys for Life)

This theatre is an experience! If you’ve never had food or beverages delivered to your seat b4!! Or been able to recline in a cushy comfy leather recliner while watching a theatrical film in surround sound...this is THE EXPERIENCE you need! The bar/cafe outside in lobby is a nice touch in waiting for friends or for gatherings after a movie.

Movie theater is nice, but the service is way too slow, ordered our during the previews, and it didnt come out until the movie was nearly finished. We were sitting there eating during the credits at end along with a few other people. Dont know if theyre understaffed or what, but this is now the second time that this has happened

Very nice theater. Very nice staff. They left the door open and I was near an exit due to handicap seating which I could hear all the screaming in the hallway which was distracting a bit.also there really was no guidance as to when to order food how to order food anything like that so for someone whos never been there, I had to figure it out on your own. If I were running that place things would be different. I would have put something on the screen in the beginning explaining how the system works. Or even on the menu making it much more user-friendly.

Absolutely loved the movie tavern. This is the only way to go to the movies. The staff was great. Super friendly. Food was great and service was quick. If you havent had a chance to visit, you definitely need to.

Its a great cinema! The screen rooms are very cozy. $5 Tuesdays are a hit, especially with the free popcorn for rewards members. The food on the other hand is ridiculously expensive in my opinion, or they could maybe give you a bit more food for the price that youre paying. Im definitely gonna be seeing more movies there but maybe eat at Texas Roadhouse before so that I dont have to purchase their food.

Great experience today for The Lion King. They have righted the ship after the tough week or two they had around Endgame. Food is more consistent and the full menu has been back for several weeks. Our server, Carol, was great. In fact, we left our refillable popcorn bucket behind and I went back later to get it and she had set it aside. Movie Tavern is our first choice for movies.

This was my first visit to the movie tavern and will definately be back. The comfortable stadium seating in recliner chairs, food service directly to your seat, and great video and audio. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie tavern.

Ive had my best movie-going experiences here, hands-down. I havent tried going on an opening weekend; I can imagine it could hurt if things werent so laid-back as they were when I went, but getting an awesome burger and beer for reasonable prices while watching a great movie in a very comfortable chair checks all of my boxes.

Great movie theater! They have all the great new releases, as well as old movies. The recliner seats are just so comfortable! They recline quite fast too. So you dont have to wait a whole minute to go from the reclining position to sitting upright. Ill definitely come back next time Im in town.

I wanted to like it but it was not meant to be. The concept of sitting back and enjoying a meal while the movie plays was a no go for me. I arrived early just to get the food out of the way so I could enjoy the movie however was told to wait 15 mins for the theater to be cleaned. My wife and I get to our seats, the previews are rolling and still no service. Our orders were taken just before the movie started. Fast forward a half hour later the food starts coming in, the servers did their best to keep out of the way of the movie but its pretty much inevitable; the food was not at all hot, the drinks were flat, you cant see what youre eating for that matter. The movie was not finished when the servers start walking up and to hand you the receipts! One is better off going to an actual theater where one can relax and watch the movie without the constant interruptions. The eating while trying to watch a movie is not at all a pleasant experience. I like to see what Im eating. The chairs were comfortable and the facility is nice however I wont be returning.

First time going and I must say Ive never felt so comfortable at a movie theater. The place is so clean, the seats still smell brand new. You dont see any food or popcorn at all on the floor. The server was extremely nice. Had the Mac and cheese with grilled chicken which was very tasty. Prices are a bit much so unfortunately its not a place I can go every weekend but its a nice place to go for a long movie.

I like it here. The food seems to be slipping a little bit since it first opened, but its always clean. Servers are professional and do the best they can. Sometimes they seem understaffed but always do their best. I recommend coming here. Good for a date night!

I absolutely love the movie tavern!! The seats are nice and big, they recline, too! I’ve been there 4 times and no experience. And you can’t beat $5 Tuesday’s! The prices are so reasonable. Especially vs Fox Theater in Wyomissing!

The first time they opened I thought the place was cool, different from the other cinemas, the food in spite of being expensive I think it was good, but now they dont even clean the chairs, they takes half an hour or more to take your order and what I dont understand is why they have to wait until the movie start to take your order? I need my food before it starts because what is the point? the thing is that we got so tired of waiting that we didnt want anything, we only ordered a small popcorn (we wasn’t expecting it to be that small) we also order two sodas, the popcorn arrived cold, buttered and in half as if someone had started eating them, the soda didnt have Ice seems to have already been melted because it didn’t taste like soda. In conclusion, I had a terrible experience there, the service was very bad, etc. Never again!

They are wildly understaffed. We were in our seats 20 minutes before the show started but didnt get to order until the start of the movie. The poor server couldnt take orders in the order of arrival because they were coming in too fast and all hitting lights right away. One in our group ordered a doctor pepper, which was flat. Her light was on for at least 15 minutes (it felt longer but I know sometimes it feels longer than it is) and several servers and runners came to people sounds us and ignored it. I ordered nachos and the chips were stale. The drinks came out right away and the food took close to an hour. After the movie, our server meet us in the hall and legitimately wanted to know if there were problems and could she do anything. The answer was simple, she cant hire people. Management should. Ive been to other movie taverns, and they are run much better. The server (Leih) did everything she could but was put in an impossible position.

The only downside is the food service always seems to take a long time to start. Sometimes I wait a half hour in a near-empty theater just to have my order taken. But the food is pretty damn good. Theater is clean and maintained well.

This place was a 4 or 5 star when it first opened. Abundant friendly staff that were quick to respond. Went at least 4 times and had great experiences. Ever since Marcus took over it’s been a complete turn for the worse. Expect to wait at least 15 minutes before placing any orders. Expect to then wait 30-40 minutes to get your drink order. If you get your food and have more than 20 minutes left in the movie to eat it consider yourself lucky. The last three times we’ve been here it’s been the same bad experience. Completely different from the great start when it first opened.

The food is on point. This is dinner and a movie in one. They even have breakfast, great selections on food n drinks.

The food there helped me forget that i was watching a scary movie. The food and the drinks was appetizing. The waitresses were kind and gentle. Not like your normal waitresses that as though they dont want to work or truly SERVE people. The reclining chairs were relaxing on my back and my legs. I felt as if i was in my own home theatre. We will be back!

We usually like movie tavern, but not today. Service was very slow and it was only 3 pm on a Monday. We were the first in the theatre, but it took almost an hour to get our drink a and then they werent right. They need more help.

Always a good night out when we come here. Food is fairly good just dont expect gourmet, its basically bar food. Just a bit pricey.

The place is dirty and short staffed. No one available to help us at the kiosk. This is a place I wont return to. Go to the flourtown movie tavern. Your experience there will be worth the trip.

Theaters and seating are awesome. Food service is so hit or miss. Seems like the kitchen is chaotic and not orderly.

The movie was great. The chairs were comfy. Staff were friendly. Very clean movie theater.
