Carlos Creek Winery located in Alexandria, MN is one of Minnesota’s largest wineries. At over 160 acres of land this winery has the space to make many different wines from the grapes they grow. With the expansive land comes many different options of things you can do at the winery. You could bring your wine outside and enjoy it while you feel the warm sun rays on your skin. Get married. Enjoy a game of lawn chess or bocce ball. Take a yoga class. Or just get together with friends, even if they don’t enjoy wine there is 22 Northmen Brewing Co. onsite (who wouldn’t want wine though ).

Variety of places outside. The inside is beautiful! Liked that next door you have some options to eat or for the men drink beer!! Really cool they have two different places in one!! Makes for a great afternoon.

A great place to stop, either when passing through or as the main reason for your vacation. Love the variety of wines available and the scenery is AMAZING. You can easily hang out and just enjoy your day with a great glass of wine in the large selection of patio seating, or do the self guided tour for a more in depth winery experience.

There are not enough words to describe how absolutely AMAZING Michelle and the whole team at Carlos Creek Winery is!! From the moment we decided to have our wedding at CCW through even today, they have been SO incredibly thorough and extremely quick to respond!! Even through trying times during a pandemic, Michelle and the CCW team made everything so seamless and easy. They made our day so, so perfect in every way possible!! I still can’t believe just how perfect they made EVERYTHING!! Mary, the amazing florist they use, is hands down the BEST at what she does also!! Her work quite literally took everyone’s breath away!! The entire venue is simply stunning and there’s no other venue like it!! We are beyond thankful that we chose Carlos Creek as our wedding venue and we truly can’t say enough about absolutely every beautiful detail. We could never thank Michelle and the whole team enough for EVERYTHING!!!!

Carlos Creek Winery is a gorgeous venue if youre considering getting married in the Alexandria area! The team at CC are so hands on and help with every part of the planning process! The food is yummy, the locations on site are perfect for photos, and the outdoor cathedral is one of my favorite outdoor ceremony locations (the lighting out there and the wooden benches are a dreeeeeaammmm!) I love photographing weddings out there! Cant wait to be back!

My hubs and I came here for our first post pandemic winery tour. My hubs immediately recognized the Carlos creek, but I didn’t recognize it. Not sure how he recognizes it, anyways, we loved it. My man loved the minnescato, and I liked the fruit wines. Free glasses with wine tasting as an added treat.

Great atmosphere.They are using compostable cups for wine which is terrible for environment and makes wine taste bad. Please use reusable cups like you do at your brewery.The white wines are fantastic. The Rose is interesting.The beers we don’t recommend. Just drink wine.The games and atmosphere is awesome.You should sell plastic reusable branded wine glasses if you are going to be only offering single use plastic cups. We would have brought some of the globelet vinos from you if you had these.

As a same sex couple getting married in Central Minnesota – we had some reservations as to what venues would actually welcome us. But the staff at Carlos Creek didn’t just welcome us with open arms, they gave us the best day of our lives.First of all, the staff is SUPERB!! Paige Meier, who was our personal wedding manger, is one of the most experienced, detail oriented, and hands-on-managers you could hope to work with. She and her staff are simply the best people we could’ve asked for to help plan and then execute our wedding. From start to finish, Paige and her team was there to advise, guide and provide solutions for our many requests.Since the team does over 60 weddings a year, they have it down. Nothing was missed and they gave us many great ideas for things we didn’t even think about. And … they are SO SO nice and always in communication with you! They wanted our day to be as amazing as we did and they exceeded our expectations.Now the venue! It is beyond beautiful. We had guests coming from New York City and around the world and they all raved about how stunning the entire place was – the outdoor wedding location, the entire grounds, the sophisticated reception hall. Even if you choose to get married inside, the outstanding fireplace location is amazing. We went with all greenery and no flowers and the staff did an outstanding job. Even the food was great and of course the wine is chic and fun! They also work with so many vendors – they have tons of suggestions if you are ever in a pinch or have a unique request! We cannot recommend Carlos Creek Winery enough for your wedding – you (and your guests) will be so glad you did.

You Betcha Blush. I initially picked up this bottle of wine for its creative label. I grew up in MN, and now live near Grand Forks, ND where we are big fans of UND hockey. The label features 2 adorable moose playing a game of pond hockey. One wearing Maroon/Gold (Gophers) and the other Green/White (Fighting Sioux). Or at least that’s how I interpreted it since the teams rivalry is well known!I was pleasantly surprised that the delicious wine in the bottle got my attention as much as the label in the outside. Smooth, slightly sweet and from MM makes this wine my new favorite!

Beautiful grounds and seasonal decorations. Loved the live music. No one at cash register. Bar 3 to 5 people deep. Unable to find anyone to pay for merchandise or the tasting run being advertised. Still love the cave self tour with so much information.

Absolutely wonderful place to visit if you are in Alexandria. Wine, craft beer, and amazing pizza. They also have other family fun activities (bean bag toss, giant chess, and when we visited they were giving horse drawn buggy tours).The one catch is that lots of people know how amazing this place is! We went on a Friday afternoon and it was packed, with a 1.5 hour wait for pizza. We returned the next day (Saturday) at noon when it opened and within the first half hour most of the outside tables were occupied. Popular place!

This is a great example of a business completely dialed in to the needs/desires of their target market. Thoroughly impressed with them. They clearly listen to what their customers want. Wish more places would do business like this.

Carlos Creek Winery continues to be a solid place to visit and the wines are some of the best produced using Minnesota-grown grapes. Winery atmosphere and staff are consistently good, especially around Christmas. However, what happened with the bartenders inside 22 Northmen? Not sure if applications were slim to choose from but I gotta say, most or all of them can generally be described as having zero personality. They seem to dislike being there and are reluctant to engage the customer. Several area friends have said the same. I get that some customers can be jerks but come on, most patrons are out to have a good time and would like to encounter bartenders willing to offer up a little more courtesy. Perhaps offering a taste sample like every other brewery does? Thatd be a start. I dont know, maybe theyre not being paid fairly. Good hourly pay usually equates to good quality staff. Anyway, hoping this isnt the new normal because CCW has always had a reputation as a fun place to go, and I’d hate to see that change.

This is a finely run establishment. Every few years they seem to add something new as they continue to grow. There are many places to sit and enjoy a glass wine and socialize. Very relaxing atmosphere and very good service. Plenty of snacks available to munch on while sipping on wine. Highly recommend this if you are in the Alexandria area.

Really enjoy this place. It has a very welcoming and warm atmosphere. The manager and staff have a passion for the wines that are made here and you can tell. Always enjoy visiting and bringing friends to experience this gem. Also, very excited for the annual grape stomp!

Not very organized under current circumstances the wait in the winery to pay is inexcusable and disorganized some of the staff is very rude and treats guests poorly Ive been coming for years but over the past few years the experience has changed and battery this last time Im not sure it will continue to be a place I go in the area there are so many other places to go that are far friendlier and more welcoming

I went to the Sparkling Sunday with the all-you-can-drink mamosas. My second time there. The brunch is small but delicious. They always have a variety of ways to make your mimosa, which is a great way to try new flavors! Its very clean and inviting and I love the variety of seating options. I havent give in the summer, but they have a beautiful pergola with lots of room and a stage. Perfect looking place to hang out on a summer afternoon! Cant wait to visit sometime!

My Grilfriend and I were long time wine club members until 2017. Carlos Creek seemed to quit caring about the wine club members, it seemed that they were just offloading clearance wines in our packs. Winter would come and they would give us Sweet raspberry wines, Moscatos and spring would come and we would get the left over reds. We canceled our membership and signed up with another MN winery that actually paired wines with the season.3 out of the last 4 years we made the journey from St. Paul to Alexandria to attend the Valentines Chocolate and Cheese Pairing in years past it was excellent! This year (2018) they must have had a 2 year old doing the pairing.It started with a Spicy Hot Gouda Cheese spread and a white wine, Horrible pairing all it did was bring out the hot spice when you drank the wine (Mouth on fire) with no water to cleans the pallet before the next pairing.2nd was Minnescato and Smoked cheddar, Cheddar with a sweet desert wine?3rd Raspberry Wine and Cheese cake, This was OK, but the cheese cake did not fit in with the Chocolate and Cheese pairing at all.4th Merlot and Smoked swiss, Im not sure if the wine ruined the cheese or vice versa.5th Marquette and Red Velvet Cupcake, they did not work together at all.6th Tawny Port and Brownie Bites. I love ports, I hated this port, it reminded me of Jagermeister we both took one sip and left that one on the table.At the end was a couple of rotted strawberries , thanks, that was nice to bite into them.After the disappointing tasting that we made a 2 and a half hour car trip for we went up and each got a glass of wine for a mere $8 per glass, restaurants that serve Carlos Creek dont even charge that much for that, this is a MN wine not a Cali wine. Just lost our business for good.

Carlos Creek Winery was an absolute dream location for our wedding. The outdoor ceremony is beautiful, the reception area is warm and inviting, and the staff were professional and friendly. Our guests raved about the service and the wine. I would recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a destination wedding in Minnesota. Living in Minneapolis, it was just a short drive up to Alexandria for our fall wedding. We were lucky enough to have the weather cooler but warm enough for an outdoor ceremony. Our wedding coordinator Melissa did a great job of answering all questions in a timely manner and was super helpful. Our only complaint and this doesnt exactly come from Carlos Creek was the food options. A lot of the reviews I read had guests raving about the food but when we had our tasting with the Depot Catering company, we were a little disappointed in the lack of flavor and scale of the options. It would be great if Carlos Creek had another caterer to choose from. That is truly our only complaint and would 100% recommend and use all over again. Thank you Carlos Creek Winery!

I enjoyed the wines I tasted. I was a bit disappointed that the gentleman who was serving my wines of choice did not engage in explaining the flavors that may come out in the wine. Also, you offer nothing to clean your pallet in between the samples. Finally, I am disappointed that you no longer offer a guided tour of the winery. The wineries that I have been to in New York, Tennessee and Kansas, all offered free guided tours, which actually add to the expience because you can see the process of the wine being made.

Lots of fun! Their wine tasting is fun to do, plus you get to keep your wine glass. Really fun to do the self guided tour, full of interesting wine tidbits.

Love Carlos Creek Winery! However the Grape Stomp is a joke. They charged $10/person, including $10 for each of our 3yo and 6yo kids. There were no kid activities that warrant charging a fee for kids. Would have been nice to have notification theres an entrance fee on the website or on signs before waiting in the traffic for 15 minutes just to park. (Maybe consider a fee per car or not charging for kids). Wine was $8/glass, Food was $$$, absolutely not worth it. Go buy a bottle of Carlos Creek wine at Total Wine for $15 and drink it on the lake instead.

The most passive aggressive staff. Over the course of the wedding I was threatened by the event coordinator. Zero organization, guests were left to wander the winery without any direction. Our table was skipped over during dinner and the dining staff cleared our plates and glasses before we were finished. Fake smiles and blatant sarcasm. A horrible experience.

Did the dry wine flight...really enjoyed all of them.Also had the apple hopper cider which was very crisp and refreshing. Had a great time, loved the property and would definitely recommend stopping in.

Really great place for weddings and events, very beautiful grounds. Live music was very enjoyable.The winery has become much more commercialized though. Flights used to be more personalized and the staff more flexible, now theyre predetermined to 6 options. Everything is understandable, as a business wants to grow. Just not what we were used to on our vacation tradition.

Interesting variety of wines.

I attended a wedding at the winery, and I wasn’t in the bridal party, but my date was. So I got to explore the grounds and experience all the other parts of the winery while the bridal party took pictures. First of all, the place is gorgeous and well-kept. Everyone I came across who worked for the winery was extremely helpful. The free wine tour and wine sampling system offered were a great start to my day long adventure there. The wedding was in the grand stables, and everything flowed flawlessly. Michelle and her staff were helpful along every step of the way, and were hands down the most genuine and fun people Ive met. Keep up the good work! You can’t go wrong having a wedding here, or any wine outing.

I was excited come here, but was disappointed in my experience. I hated the pre-determined flights concept. I would have preferred to choose my own. While I understand having many wines to chose from may overwhelm some visitors, if you have a knowledgeable staff that can explain the wines, it can make for a more personal experience. I found this approach to be cold and frankly permits your staff to be a little lazy for lack of a better word. They just have to check off a list and not even engage the patron. Of the dozen wineries Ive had the opportunity to visit, this was the least enjoyable experience.As for the wines, also nothing to write home about. I commend you in winning many awards, but this is the first time I have ever left a winery empty-handed (trust me, this is an uncommon occurrence).

We recently had our wedding at the Carlos Creek Winery and had the most amazing experience! From communication with our Coordinator to execution the day of, everything was very seamless and better than we expected. Carlos Creek caters in and our food was incredible-- shocking they dont make it at the venue. I would recommend Carlos Creek Winery as a wedding venue to anyone as they helped make our day more special than we could imagine.

Our daughter got married at the Carlos Creek Winery in July of 2012 and it couldnt have been more dreamy.They got married outside in the Natural Cathedral (beautiful trees that arc to form a ceiling) and we had a social hour on the patio before moving into the gorgeous rustic but elegant reception hall.It was all breathtaking with top notch service... so many people have said it was one of the best weddings they have ever attended. And the wine was even fantastic... a pleasant surprise! If youre thinking about a wedding venue, definitely give them a call.

Weve enjoyed visiting over the years, though not wine drinkers weve found the visits fun and informative. We have noted that its become a more upscale place the past few years, I applaud their success but miss the less refined setting.

The winery itself is very beautiful, and I enjoyed the majority of their wines. Their reds are good (better than their whites), and I especially enjoyed the Marquette. Worth the trip if you are in the Alexandria area.

I also would highly recommend visiting the Carlos Creek Winery. The three new wines they offer are great. Minnesota inspired wines. Minnesota Nice ;Hot dish Red, Walleye White and Rose,Eh? The winery was so fun to spend the day at , the music they have on Saturday afternoons is great and tasting the different wines and getting to keep the glass is an added bonus.
