Family loved our time here! Animals are healthy and appear well taken care of and exhibits are clean. Nice walking paths to view animals. Price was very affordable for a zoo!

We love our zoo! Its a fun, educational experience & a great walk! The adults in our party enjoy the learning centers & the kids love the train. The largest exhibits seem to be the multitude of bird species. We look forward to more large exotic animal exhibits.

There is a special route at the zoo for the duration of the covid.relatively recently, renovations were made here. animals are burnt, clean, well-fed. its nice to know that captive animals live as full a life as possible

I enjoy the walk. The animals are a bonus! I enjoy learning about the different animals and their habitats. I saw the maned wolf for the first time!Zoo is currently one way because of Covid. And there is some construction for updates to exhibits but nothing that really hurts the flow of the zoo.

Great day at the zoo, many animals were out and active for a change, could have been the weather, rapidly changing weather conditions. The animals awake and noisy. A lot of fun for all who were visiting this Fathers Day. The staff were polite and friendly. Parking lot was easy to find a spot.

The animals are moving around so much in this nice weather. We had a lot of fun on the train ride. Glad this is a nive zoo and very clean.

Great variety of animals. None of the enclosures have concrete bottoms, and all of the animals seem happy and well taken care of. Lately theyve been doing renovations, and its good to see that theyre trying to improve.

Had a blast hanging out with my niece and her mom! We missed seeing the black panther but there were plenty of other big cats to marvel at.

A very lovely zoo. Plenty of shade, a large variety of animals. It felt magical, the enclosures had fans in them, and the animals were very reactive and lively.

The Alexandria Zoo was beautiful. We were able to see the animals close up. It was small but the spaces were used thoughtfully. I would go back again.

Always love visiting the zoo here. The park is well maintained for the most part and is actually quite large for a city this size.

Absolutely love it! Beautiful zoo! There are a lot of different amazing animals. There is a lot of shade to help keep you cooler in the hot Louisiana sunshine. They also have fans and misters to keep you cool. Its a great place for the whole family! Plus you wont blow the budget!

I had an awesome time at this zoo. The animals have so much character and most of them appear to enjoy the visitors. Also, the price is very fair. I would highly recommend it. What a beautiful Zoo with many healthy looking animals. The grounds and animals are well taken care of. It shows the beauty of Louisiana. We go Everytime we are in Alexandria. We love the memorial garden for the children gone too soon.

The zoo was well shaded and well kept. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is due to the lack of exotic animals.

Love this place. Since COVID-19, this zoo has made the traffic one way, so if everyone follows the rules you wont worry much about being to close to people. Had a lot of shaded areas. My kids loved it and I had a good time as well. Would definitely go back.

This is an impressive zoo for a small town. Lots of cool animals and cool exhibits.

This was a great place to visit! We were able to spend about 2.5 hours at this zoo and we enjoyed every minute of it. There were lots of animals and even an eagle that can only be seen at this zoo in North America! We were able to ask questions to the zookeepers and watch the animals get fed.

Really enjoy this zoo. Especially love going through the Louisiana exhibit.

My grandchildren love going to the zoo in fact our whole family loves going to the zoo. And we love going to the many different activities they have at the zoo

Great experience! When we arrived the wait for the tickets wasnt long. Although when we left the line was really long woth just one person at the admission counter.The ticket prices are very reasonable for what you get to experience. Children 3 and under free. 4 to 12 is 5.50. Adults are 7.50 and I cant remember. We kinda rushed through it and it took an hour and a half. There is a playground that looked fun for the kids.When you walk in you immediately notice how clean it is. Its not overwhelming with the typical zoo smell right when you walk in although as you get deeper in the zoo the smell is noticeable. Most of the animal areas are well taken care of. There are a variety of different animals to see.

I enjoyed the walk through the zoo. Some areas are under construction but still a really nice zoo.

Had a great time with the family. The kids loved the train ride and all the animals.

I love to come here almost every weekend. Its worth the hour drive. Jack and Diane the cougars are my absolute favorite. Also noticed a caracal recently however I dont know much about it

There were quite a few items closed due to COVID--19. We were only allowed to buy drinks or hot dogs. There menu was very limited. There was a set path that we had to take.

It was fun and filled with learning facts about the animals and their habits. The signs were easy to read and understand. The animals appeared healthy.

This was an awesome trip. The weather was great and the staff friendly. I certainly recommend you stop by here.

Very cool experience. I have been there before but during the week the animals were alot more active. So many up close personal photos. One of the photos I had was of a bug carcus pretty cool. Its a good place for the kids and small enough for them to walk around. They also have strollers to rent as well if needed. Recommend going for sure.

Fun & clean! Employees are always nice & the path/walkway is large enough to push a stroller without being in the way of other visitors walking by. Definitely worth the hour drive a few times a year.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit to this zoo. We ended up spending close to hours. There were a few exhibitions that were closed for repairs, but it was also January when we visited and many of those animals were not on display due to the cold anyway. The animals that we were able to see looked very well taken care of. My only complaint was that some of the side exhibits were a little dark and my 2 year old was scared to go into them.

Wonderful family relax day!

Very good zoo. Lots of different species in a very quaint setting. Both kid and adult friendly. Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! High amount of South American animals. Has small train which you can take a nice trip around the zoo in. All in all an unexpected surprise of a zoo. Spent 2 hours there and could have spent more.

This place is my daughters favorite zoo, its always clean and the animals are close enough to see them

Event tonight was great! Some animals were visible, most were not. Train rides through park were also available. Great time for all.

Not a bad spot to kick it for a few hours

Not as many animals as expected but other than that it was a good experience. We got there just as they opened so it wasnt very crowed. It began getting that way around lunch time. Seemed to be a lot of young teenagers coming in and they were starting to get a little rowdy. Considering we have a three year old we decided to go ahead and leave but the zoo was good.

We love bringing our babies to this zoo so much we bought the season passes this year. So when they say I want to go to the zoo we can just load up and go now. Thanks for helping make our memories.

Animals are well taken care of. They have a fun train ride, strollers to use, concession stand and a great gift shop! Staff is very nice.

This is a great zoo for the size of the city its in. They have a huge selection of animals for you too see and they seemed pretty well cared for. Some of the enclosures might be a little small, but you can tell the zoo is doing the best they can for their animals. I would definitely go again.

Great place for children. Contains very exotic animals, and is very spacious and easy to maneuver. The train ride was very fun.

This zoo is great. If you live in or around the Lafayette area it is well worth the drive. Very shaded walkways and many wonderful animals. The prices are good and a yearly membership is the best value if you visit two or more times.

Sadly alot was blocked off due to Virus but perfect size to see it all before your to hott. I do hope they keep the arrows on the ground because it helps to take perfect trail thru

Has all the animals you want to see. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to go through. You can get close to the big cats.

Very well kept and much bigger than we expected for the location. Though they dont have any of the super large animals i.e. elephants, giraffes, hippos, etc., They have a great variety of other animals. Love all the big cats the most! We will definitely be back.

Surprisingly awesome! Staff was so nice and helpful. Strollers are only 2 bucks to rent a single. We bought a season pass for 45 dollars. All of the animals were awake and very playful. Our boys had so much fun. The play area was good for all our boys ages. Cafe was good and affordable. Gift shop was reasonably priced as well. All in all a very good zoo!

So far the best Zoo in Louisiana they have a lot of shaded area around the park. A lot of exhibits were closed hopefully in the near future more animal will be added, but this is my second visit and I enjoyed it

Alexandria has a wonderful zoo! And, the place is great for festivals too... attended a fundraiser & was treated to great food & fantastic entertainment!

Pretty good zoo for a day outing. This zoo has quite the impressive array of birds to see, and I loved seeing the otters as well as the tigers. The walking flow of the zoo is not that well planned out...or at least it feels that way but perhaps the construction they were doing hampered the normal routes to be taken. I wish they would have had a better reptile house as well. All that being said, I had a wonderful outing with the wife at this zoo.

We went with our granddaughter on her field trip. We had such an amazing trip. The exhibits are set up and cared for very well. Each enclosure has information signs. We heard children throughout the zoo reading them and it made smile. Highly recommend.Suggestions:1. Stock enough water so as you never run out.2. Would love to see more comfortable benches around the entire zoo. I love to sit a while and watch the animals or just relax and take in the sounds.3. Something needs to be added to the bear enclosure. Myself and other parents kept having mini heart attacks by other children not supervised climbing the rail and nearly flipping over. Sadly, this is more for the zoo and animals protection.4. Also add a “fun, don’t let this be you” video that basically states zoo rules; climbing, running,etc.Will definitely keep coming back!!

So many different animals to see. My children enjoyed it, as well as myself and husband. The train ride was fun as well.

Took my grandsons to visit and they loved the animals. Only thing that would have been better is if they would tell you when you purchased tickets to enter that if you wanted to ride the train you had to purchase those ticjets at the main gate as well.

Takes about 2 hours to walk around and see everything. Small enough for kids to see everything before they get bored. Do it right and at the end they have a park for the kids to burn the last of their energy.

When I went there were some places that needed to be cleaned, it smelled bad. But other than that I like the place and the price is not expensive. I like the variety of animals too!

Not the biggest zoo Ive been to but perfect for my one year old. Very clean. Almost every habitat had animals.

It’s was awesome. I loved it as much as the kids. There’s so much to see there and it’s close to home for me. Can’t wait to go back!

One of the best zoos in the south. Well put together considering how it was expanded over the years. Has a lot of trees so going through it at 90 degrees was not so bad you had to keep stopping. Great exhibits and animals. Helpful staff and great programs during different parts of the year. If I lived closer I would join FOTAZ (friends of the Alexandria zoo) so I could go almost every day.

It was nice. The zoo isnt so big that the kids get too tired while walking through it, but its big enough that it has plenty of animals and exhibits to keep them and the adults entertained. The train ride was short but fun. The kids really enjoyed that as well.

Went early in morning. Animals were out. Great to see them. Several paths were closed and we had to reroute with some back tracking. Still it was fun. And will be even better once the remodeling is done. Train ride now has an informational recording play during trip. Interesting.

First class great price and great atmosphere.

The Zoo was great..The food was little pricey.I spent 50.00 just on 2 adults and toddler to eat.They had most animals at the zoo closed DOWN.And the train was shutdown also.

A great place to bring your little ones or the whole family. Makes for a nice family walk. Try and go as early as possible during the hot summer months if you want to get a good look at all the animals. And dont forget the train ride!Holiday Safari is a wonderful annual event with holiday-themed lighted pathways, music center stage, and treats for purchase at Pam Café usually held Thur-Sat evenings between Thanksgiving & Christmas. Dont forget the train ride!

What a lovely surprise this zoo was! The animals were very well taken care of and I love that they kept the animals to what best adjusts to this climate.

I visited the Alexandria Zoo recently and I enjoyed every moment. It is a nice, beautiful clean zoo. There are Beautiful white tigers, eagles, lions among many other animals. Very nice. I love how the staff walks around and comment on the animals, they are also very friendly. I had a good time. Thank you

One of the best zoo experiences Ive ever had

Such a great zoo! It is really well laid out so there are lots of animals to see without having to walk too much. Also, the walkways are almost entirely shaded. It is well set up for children, even those still in strollers. There are also good spaces for sitting, eating, and playing.

I really enjoyed this zoo.

Christmas at the Zoo and Zoo Boo (Halloween) are two great events that they have. During the daytime they have wonderful exhibits and manage to pack a ton into smaller zoo. Also the train ride is very fun and worth the cost for the ride.

Took two 8 yr old grandchildren on a Sunday and two 6 yr olds with an 11 yr old on the following Wednesday. We all had a great time. The animals all appeared happy, healthy, very funny and comfortable with being the star in a video we took for our memories. Oh, and ALL ABOARD, we took the (15 min?) train ride around the zoo. Although we didnt see much but the outer part of the zoo, it was nice to sit and rest for awhile. (grandparents will understand this part) The park bathrooms were clean & air conditioned. We took a rest halfway and cooled down with various flavored snow cone slushies that were greatly appreciated during the hot days we visited in July 2018. Everyone was courteous. We will be back again. Thank you, Alexandria Zoo!

Awesome park. Cleanest and healthiest zoo/park Ive seen. Animals are well-cared for in natural habitats. Prices are so reasonable you cant pass it up. Staff was extremely accommodating. They give them lots of treats. Animals looked very happy. They have some nice rare endangered animals that were displaced from their homes. Their signs are educational and also a cafe on premise. Highly recommend!

Nice little zoo, friendly staff, fun little train ride. The animals and enclosure were good. The enclosures to us seemed a little on the small side, but again not a big zoo. Seeing the white tiger was amazing.

Love the Alexandria zoo. They are always adding new things. Always kept up and clean.
