Excellent...take the entire family to see this historic site. Then have lunch or dinner in the near by restaurants.

This one museum had a very significant impact on my view of history. We take so many things for granted, but in this place you get to see how very hard it was for your people to do just basic simple things, like read for free in a public library. The exhibit was beautiful and honest without leaving you in despair. You leave with a renewed desire to make a strong impact with the things we all take for granted. Watch the video, it tells the story beautifully.

The Alexandria African American Heritage Park is a public park in Eisenhower East in Alexandria maintained by the Alexandria Black History Museum. The park was established in 1995 and includes 9-acres of green space. There are sculptures by acclaimed artist Jerome Meadow, a trail along a stream, green space for picnics, and the remains of a historic African American cemetery.

This park in Alexandria is awe inspiring. I was unaware of the tradition behind headstones and foot stones. This is a well manicured park which seems to be well maintained. Lots of wildlife. A must see

Nice small park with several memorials and a marsh. There is an unpaved walking path around the marsh that takes about 10 minutes to walk at a casual pace. Lots of songbirds, walkers, and some people exercising (calisthenics). Parts of the park including the steps down from the street are in need of repair, but it looks like the city is working on that.

Beautiful place to go have a nice walk, relax or just do the environment thing but they need to take better care of the grounds and people need to stop littering.

Nice trail, but the creek is always full of trash. Trash cans are often overflowing. Its cool too visit the turtles and frogs.

Nice little park with a nature trail. The short trail is great to take little ones on a daddy-son or daddy-daughter lunch date.

Nice little memorial park next to a historic old cemetery. There is a small short walking path loop and some head stones in places.
